Where is Ciara, Tamia, Missy Elliott, Diana Ross? LOL @ Ciara and Tamia. Diana Ross may have had a huge career but this is counting success from 1985 to 2010. Diana had maybe 2 hits in that time period. Her career was practically over by the time the period this list is counting came around

What did they actually base this chart on? The Billboard R&B charts.

Okay so I checked "my stats" and it seems as though 3 of her studio albums are insanely overcertified. Mariah Carey-4.8 million sold but 9x platinum Music Box-7.1 million sold but 10x platinum Daydream-7.6 million sold but 10x platinum Go check again, plz. And come back to me when you have a stronger argument. Her debut was released prior to SoundScan and it sold before it was introduced. 8.8 million is more than enough for 9x Platinum. Music Box and Daydream sold tons of copies in music clubs so when you add up to the totals, they are certified correctly. Some of her albums are due for new certifications, but obviously you didn't care for that cause you couldn't have hated on that. A mess, if you ask me. You don't have to get sassy and defensive boo, I'm just merely stating facts. Like I said earlier, even if you add up the catalog sales from Music Box and Daydream there is still a 4 million album discrepancy. So until you can provide some kind of stats that prove otherwise you come back to me when YOU have a stronger argument

The only stats provided were the catalog sales, which were both less than a million for Daydream and Music Box. So what exactly are you referring to? PLEASE READ. I do not tutor in english OR math so if thats a problem I cant help I already stated in a previous post that Music Box sold 0.75 million through BMG music club (bringing it's total to 7.85) and Daydream sold 0.85 mil, bringing its total to 8.45 million. Columbia House never published its sales, but presumably it sold just as much if not more through that club. If they sold just as much, Music Box would be at 8.6 million and Daydream would be at 9.3 million. Plus, as 2m has already stated, being certified means albums shipped, not sold, meaning all the copies of MB and DD that are sitting around in music stores around the country are also included in that 10 million total. Also, as already stated, Mariah's debut sold at least 4 million before soundscan started tracking sales - at least 4 mil + 4.8 mil = at least 8.8 million, certainly good enough for 9x platinum.

LOL @ Lil Wayne, T.I, Jay-Z & Ludacris being placed higher than Eminem! Any guy with a straight brain would put Em higher than those 4, Maybe amongst Jay because Jay been in the game for almost 16 yers!

Eminem's had just two R&B Top 10s his whole career. I'm actually surprised he's as high as he is.

Eminem's had just two R&B Top 10s his whole career. I'm actually surprised he's as high as he is. Yeah, but if you look at Billboard's top R&B/Hip Hop albums artists of the past decade (which presumably would just be most albums sold in core R&B markets for the entire decade), Eminem was #2 only behind Jay-z. The top 20 was as follows (you can find the whole list on billboard.biz): 1 JAY-Z 2 EMINEM 3 R. KELLY 4 MARY J. BLIGE 5 LUDACRIS 6 NELLY 7 50 CENT 8 ALICIA KEYS 9 LIL WAYNE 10 T.I. 11 DESTINY'S CHILD 12 USHER 13 DMX 14 MARIAH CAREY 15 JA RULE 16 KANYE WEST 17 SNOOP DOGG 18 NAS 19 2PAC 20 OUTKAST However, you're right, singles wise Eminem hasn't had anywhere near that success which is odd considering the clear demand for his music in R&B/Hip hop markets. Not one of his songs is to be found in the top 100 R&B/Hip Hop songs of the decade.

yes, Eminem is so high because of the albums. They also for this chart seemed not to give points for featured artists, or if the did, the points were very small-- that's why Ashanti and Ciara aren't even in the top 50. Ciara will probably end up in there in another 5 years...

I really wish there was a breakdown of how they got this list. Just seems a bit flawed...
