Does anyone here know of a legitimate reason why Shinedown's Sound Of Madness should return to the current albums chart this week? It moved to the catalog chart issue date Oct 30. ???

Is there an active single being worked from Sound of Madness? if so, that could be why.

I just noticed how low Robyn debuted. Weird that her full album debuted so much lower than the EPs for Parts 1 and 2, although I think actual sales are about the same.

Body Talk 2 debuted at No. 41 with 8,479. This new release saw release in a much busier sales week than the EPs, hence the lower ranking.
The first EP debuted at No. 97, with sales probably in the range of 5K.

Lol, Lee DeWyze drops from #19 to #93? AI is totally over it is possible, but this is not guaranteed. Dreadful sales are to be expected from contestants who are so bad that they shouldn't have made it out of Hollywood. Lee is one of the worst performers around.

I think other people have pointed this out, but AI has always been primarily a TV show. It will be around as long as it gets ratings, the show producers couldn't care less about the success of artists from the show.

It had gone from multi-year renewals to no longer a guarantee
Last year, theer were days where it didn't win its night but it still finished #1
This year it won't be #1

AI's ratings have gone down, yes.
But as long as it is lucrative as a TV show it will be on the air. I'd say it still has at least a couple more years, if not more.
(I'm not an AI fan, so I wouldn't care if it was canceled permanently tomorrow, but I don't think that'll be the case.)

It kind of depends on how the new format and new judges are accepted If it bombs, it could be over quick
Shows on the decline tend to not stay around long
Regarding other items of profit:
The summer tour was cut short due to lack of interest The winners albums are obviously not selling

I don't think we're disagreeing, 2m.
I'm just saying you can't judge the success of the *show* based solely on the success/failure of its contestants' sales.

I understand This year AI will become just another show. Networks get a certain amount of advertising dollars for a #1 show, they get less for a show that isn't performing as well. (so less revenue from there too, the albums and the tours clearly won't bring in anything) The core "cast" of this show doesn't rake in the bucks but the judges and the host get a bundle. I personally don't think this is the last year (because it was still #1 last year) but I think after 2012 it will be gone.

I think we need a new female idol. We have 'Cute white man with guitar' idol winners for 3 consecutive seasons! It's boring.

It's the only show in television history to spend six years at #1. It is still a major money-maker.

Crystal has more buzz than Lee and she most probably gonna end up having a better records, sell more and receive tons of awards. Farmer's daughter is a great track and I cannot wait to see it performs on AC radio.

All shows get canceled at some point Some end on there own. ER for example could have kept going. NBC probably wishes it did since NBC get's the worst ratings out of the major 4 networks.

Crystal can sell more than Lee only if Jive puts in some effort to get the album stocked unlike what has been seen with some of the other labelmates.

Itd still promote people who arnt as popular (Jason) and itd help start hype for Crystal, Lee, and Kacey. Have this tour in the fall that way the most recent contestans can perform their first singles there, along with a second track. Id deff go to a show consisting of those acts. People might say hey wheres Kelly/Carrie/Daughty. Well i doubt theyd be on that tour only performing 3-5 songs when they can eaisly have their own tours.

Assuming they get 2-4 songs each id say Kelly - My Life Would Suck Without You, Since You Been Gone, Behind these Hazel Eyes, Current Single Ruben - Sorry for 2004, Change Me Fantasia - Bittersweet, When I see You, Current Single Carrie - Before He Cheats, Cowboy Casanova, Last Name, Current Single Taylor - Dont care & Dont care Joridn - No Air ft. Ruben or Kris, Battlefield, Current Single Cook - Time of My life, Light on, Current Single Kris - LLWD, Alright with me (maybe/prbly not), Current Single Lee - SS, Current Single?, Too early to predict 10th place winner - Too early to predict yes we all know everyone would prefer Daughtry to Hicks, but this is a winners tour that i think would sell very well.

and of course the 10 could perform two songs together. one to open the show and one to close. i think IGF would be a good one since everyone knows it
