So who are your top 5 EDM (electronic dance music) remixers /producers/artists of this year? What were your favorite remixes or songs by them? Post links of your favorite tracks of this year if you want.
My Top 5:
1. Robyn - With songs like Dancing On My Own, Hang With Me, Indestructible, Love Kills, etc. Robyn really became "Queen of Dance" for me this year. She has great taste in the producers that she chooses to work with and her songwriting is just so great. I hope I get to see her live soon.
2. Grum - He really surprised me this year. He came out with a solid debut, artist album and came out with great remix after remix. I hope he gets only bigger from now on. He really knows his stuff.
3. Fred Falke - While I felt like Fred Falke's output was overall more stronger last year, he still turned out many great, quality remixes this year. Highlights for me include his remixes of Sia - Clap Your Hands, One Republic - All The Right Moves, and Jamiroquai - Blue Skies.
4. Russ Chimes - Russ produced some great remixes this year, but I felt like he could have done better on a lot of his productions this year. IMO he's one of the most talented EDM producers out there atm, and I know he's capable of much more. His remix of The Vanish - Hold On is one of my favorite remixes of this year. His remix of Ellie Goulding's Starry Eyed is also a beauty.
5. Justin Faust - I only really liked 2 of his remixes this year, but I liked them both a lot.
Honorable Mentions:
Starsmith - He made some great remixes this year. I have high hopes for his debut artist album next year.
Fear of Tigers - He would have made 6th place on my list. Quite a few great remixes this year like the ones he did for The Venus Stare, Rosanna, and Ellie Goulding.
Penguin Prison - Had some nice songs and remixes this year. His latest single, Golden Train, is great. I'm looking forward to his debut album next year.
Ali Love - Loved his album, Love Harder, that came out this year. I hope he stays on this electro/italo disco style.
Muffin - Love his remixes for Radio Ink and Them:Youth. I'm keeping my eye on him in the future.

1. Robyn as well. The Body Talk series is perfection (minus the lack of Criminal Intent on the final compilation).
2. Skrillex - Rarely do I feel like someone has created his own sound so wonderfully as I do with this guy. (See: La Roux - In For The Kill, Black Eyed Peas - Rock That Body, Lady Gaga - Alejandro, Lady Gaga - Bad Romance [even though its last year])
3. Chew Fu. Another stellar year for my favorite remixer in the game.
4. DJs From Mars. These guys seemingly came out of nowhere to rock my dance floor consistently.
5. DJ Kue - Stellar mix after stellar mix, usually of songs that desperately needed it (see: Take It Off, Fuck You, DJ Got us Falling In Love, Monster, and most recently Tonight by Enrique)

01. Robyn. Her Body Talk EP series is a perfect example of Dance/Electronic music with Pop sensibilities. I was fan of hers when she started out in the mid/late 90's. I didn't really follow her all that much until her last album. I basically fell in love with her all over again.
02. Audio Assembly (and the Hell & Keller team, which is actually 2/3 of AA). They have managed to keep the circuit sound alive with their great productions. Their emphasis on the vocals in their remixes is one of the main reasons I look forward to listening to whatever they create.
03. Cutmore. Although he has been doing mixes for some time now, I have really grown to love his work. I like the classic disco/funky house style that most of his mixes are in. The overall aesthetic of his remixes remind me of some of the great work David Morales, Steve "Silk" Hurley, and Frankie Knuckles graced us with during the 90's.
04. Hurts. Their brand of Electronic-leaning Pop/Rock immediately fills the void left by Erasure and Depeche Mode as they don't have any material out now. Although I am only a fan of their singles so far, I know will grow to love their album cuts eventually.
05. Tie: Barbara Sheree, Kimberly Davis, Leah Driscoll. I lumped these three together because I think they are an extremely talented trio of female vocalists who are on their way to becoming huge in Dance music. They have that 'extra something' which made some of us love singers such as Inaya Day, Martha Wash, and Kristine W.

01. Robyn. Her Body Talk I didn't really follow her all that much until her last album. Although her material during that time was uneven, it's definitely worth checking out her "Don't Stop The Music" album which had some wicked pop tracks, especially "P.S.Y.C.H.O." which is one of those gems that goes unheard that should have been a smash. And Beverly Knight had a minor UK hit with her cover of "Keep This Fire Burning." (also on that album) I love Robyn's Body Talk EP's and was so disappointed that "Include Me Out" didn't make it on the last CD, but all of it is good stuff. Can't wait to see her at Radio City!

I'm glad I'm not the only big fan of Robyn here! 2. Skrillex - Rarely do I feel like someone has created his own sound so wonderfully as I do with this guy. (See: La Roux - In For The Kill, Black Eyed Peas - Rock That Body, Lady Gaga - Alejandro, Lady Gaga - Bad Romance [even though its last year]) I've noticed that this guy seemingly just came out of nowhere not that long ago, and all of a sudden a lot of people are talking about him and have become his fans. Pretty impressive. I should check out more of his stuff. 03. I've heard a few Cutmore remixes this year, and I've liked what I've heard so far. His remix of Anjulie - Love Songs is pretty nice.

DJ Kue - Stellar mix after stellar mix, usually of songs that desperately needed it (see: Take It Off, f**k You, DJ Got us Falling In Love, Monster, and most recently Tonight by Enrique) I'm pretty much on the same page, although for 2010 I'd have to put DJ's From Mars at #1. California Gurls/Jump was just over the top! I think my favorite track of 2010 was "Just The Way You Are" (Justin Sane Remix) by Bruno Mars.

Cool post. beach1, my list would pretty much include all the same artists/producers as yours, though maybe in a slightly different order.
Of course I love Robyn as an overall artist - she's intelligent and knows exactly what she's doing but still seems genuine in her delivery on every song. As far as producers, I am really loving almost everything by Fred Falke, Starsmith, and Penguin Prison. All of their output is consistently high quality and very original. Highlights for me were Falke's "Clap Your Hands" and "Bulletproof" mixes, Starsmith's mixes of "I Am Not A Robot" and "Hang With Me," and the Penguin Prison mixes of Golfrapp's "Rocket" and "Zombie" by Natalia Kills.
I would also maybe add Seamus Haji to the list. Though he's been around awhile, his production style has evolved in 2010 and is still top notch IMO. I really liked his mixes of "Fall In Love" by Estelle and Jamiroquai's "White Knuckle Ride."

I think it's a lot better than the original.
