Oh Jeez! The music industry is a game. People do remixes, people lower the price of singles, people pull promotional stunts to get sales - it is all the same game, just certain people know how to play it, and want to play it however they want. Don't be mad because others aren't doing the same. There are no "rules" to be broken, and any artist has the right to do whatever they want to instigate airplay and sales. It's completely fair game.

She's trying too hard to give her voice an edge it's not meant to have to fit the song. Honestly, it just doesn't work for her, but she sounds technically fine. That and some very strange production choices are my only problem with it, but this sounds very rushed and last minute. :-\

Hoping we see a better version at some point, but it doesn't make sense for Rihanna to post a link to the demo/send it to radio.

Well, honestly I think everything I said is completely valid and my own opinion. Her vocal styling as of late is pretty contradictory to the way this sounds. She doesn't sound bad at all, I just don't think she's a great fit for the track here.

The more I listen to it though, the more I love it. Could be that I'm just too used to Rihanna's take on it.

I like it. My main worry was that their voices wouldn't mesh well b/c of how distinctive both of their voices are but they blend surprisingly well, especially towards the end. The only problem is that she sounds like she has a cold at the beginning but it gets progressively better. Hopefully someone will give it a little polish before it's released digitally.

I initially thought Britney would go harder w/ her vocals but maybe that was intentional. Rihanna acts as the more dominate force while Britney fills the submissive role. It's a nice compliment. I also like how she kind of sounds shaky at certain parts like she's in the middle of having something done to her while she's singing.

While clearly a bit impromptu, it's good fun for a remix to a song that's already a #1 pop hit. I'm interested to see how it does on iTunes tonight because there is quite a bit of buzz surrounding it.

^Agreed. While this will give the song a boost for sure, it seems like it was more of a 'let's have fun' type of endeavor, and while that's pretty normal for Rihanna, I love seeing Britney doing something unexpected like this.

I COMPLETELY agree. With all of it. Britney's delivery is a total mismatch of Rihanna's...and, sadly, not as good.

Listening to the remix on my laptop, speakers, Britney's vocals sounded s**t. They're far more listenable on my desktop speakers. That said, Britney's vocals could still be better. I do like that she actually put some 'oomph' into it though - to me the performance itself is very gutsy (maybe more so than anything on FF) and she did hit all the notes but there's just this really odd quality to it (she does sound like she has a slight cold). Britney didn't have to 'mimic' Rihanna's vocal delivery IMO, but if the vocal were as polished as her voice on FF she'd have knocked it out of the park.

Gay boys yep! LOVE THIS HOT REMIX!It is fun to see Britney trying to branch out and trying new things. She has never done something like this. I think she is learning that being featured can be a good thing (Rihanna has made a career of it).

This feels like their gritty a$$ didn't care what Brit would sound like just to get that hype for the song to go to #1. The production or lack of for Brit's part was so rushed it sounds weird.

Same here. I heard the solo version only once or twice.

I guess the people who thought Britney's vocal delivery is weird in this are the same people who are used to hear it from Rihanna. That's why it is normal they would find Britney's voice strange.
