After letting it sink in a little, I still like it. The only part where I feel Britney's vocals need the most work is at the beginning and when she sings the chorus by herself but she sounds fine for the most part on her verses and when she sings w/ Rihanna.
I definitely had my disappointments w/ this song. I wish it was polished and cleaned up but I'm really glad Britney did this. I never would have imagined Britney even entertaining the idea of doing a random feature. It was a nice treat to see her step out and just do something random and unexpected. I hope they end up doing a video. Not for a #1 or sales boost but just for fun and the fans.

For the third time in four weeks, the lead for the most No. 1s in the history of Billboard's Pop Songs chart changes hands, as Rihanna's "S&M" rises 2-1 to become her record eighth topper on the tally.
The coronation breaks Rihanna out of a tie with Lady Gaga and P!nk for most No. 1s dating to the Nielsen BDS-based mainstream top 40 radio airplay ranking's Oct. 3, 1992, launch.
The three-way deadlock between the female superstars didn't last long. Lady Gaga notched her seventh No. 1, "Born This Way," two weeks ago. That track had displaced P!nk's "F**kin' Perfect," which had reigned the prior two weeks.
(Rihanna also fell just shy of the summit with three titles that peaked at No. 2: her debut chart entry "Pon De Replay" in 2005; "Unfaithful" in 2006; and, "Umbrella, featuring Jay-Z, in 2007).
"S&M" propels Rihanna to the honor of most Pop Songs No. 1s after the song had already granted her the mark for most top 10s four weeks ago. The track is her 18th Pop Songs top 10; Mariah Carey ranks second with 17.
As previously reported, "S&M" last week became Rihanna's record-setting fifth consecutive No. 1 on the all-format Radio Songs chart, besting streaks of four each by Destiny's Child (2000-01) and Usher (2004).
All charts, including the Billboard Hot 100, where "S&M" has bulleted the last two weeks at No. 2 below Katy Perry's "E.T.," featuring Kanye West, will be refreshed Thursday (April 14) on Billboard.com.

I'm sure this would be better if the intro of this was edited out, with that awful 'ILIKEITLIKEIT' intro as well as replace all the choruses w/ the last one, or at least Britney's solo chorus (giving it a similar structure to 'Telephone'). Hate to say it, but her solo chorus is where it hits it's lowest.

Monroe knows best. Yeah I love that Britney has the bridge and last chorus, I think those are the best parts of the song. I didn't really like it before but I am loving it now. I think it might be my favorite track from the album. The vocals are purposely babydollish for a reason. It's obvious Britney is the masochist and Rihanna is the sadist in this track. Britney's voice are supposed to be softer and more submissive to the aggressor which is Rihanna in this song. I like the feminine qualities Britney gave the song. |

Britney's vocals could definitely be mastered, 'cause she sounds odd at some parts, but she doesn't sound that bad as people are trying to make it seem, I love that she plays such a big part in the song and has a verse. I thought her participation in the song would just be some 'oooh oooohs baby' on some parts and nothing else  |
