As far as I can see, Madonna is literally the only artist of her age/stature that the press still has a major interest in. If Madonna comes up in conversation, people never refer to her as a has-been; they either like her music/angle, or they don't. I think that's all quite important and very telling. As long as she doesn't get lazy with this album like she did her last and avoids David Guetta and co. like the plague, that will continue.

Well, at 52 or so, I'd hope the single is stronger than something like "4 Minutes." Bu8t that's the thing- the odds are not in her favor to score a Madonna-only hit like that at this stage. But, based on history, not totally impossible.
And I'd hope she doesn't even do duet tracks- "Be Careful" was snooze-inducing, and MATM and 4M were not career highlights. One "duet" that worked well was "Guilty By Association."

This was at madonnalicious.com....didm't she talked about working with other artists:
While the singer admitted she hasn't done any recording for the project, she did reveal that she's planning to collaborate with other artists for the LP. However, it may be awhile before fans find out about her collaborations: For now, she's keeping them secret.

When in Mexico, Madonna said she had ideas about collaborators- she didn't say it was other artists, necessarily.

good for her. I hate it when artists collaborate with the same producers over and over. It gets tired. This is what makes Madonna MADONNA! ![:d](http://images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif)

If she wants to do dance again and is looking for the sickest, maddest people to work with, I want these bitches to be so underground and innovative, that the only fanbase they have are their family and the drunks that manage to stumble in because the venue they play at is the only one that is open past ten pm on a Tuesday night!
Bang!
With HC and her GH it was clear that music was not the most important project in her professional life. She even admitted that her time was really spent on her movie, mainly directing it. I felt that she used HC and the GH to hurry up and end her contract with Warner. Now that M appears to be serious about music again, it seems we'll get quality. HC had some quliaty, sure. I loved a few tracks and thought 4 Minutes and Celebration were a lot of fun. But yes M I wanna see you sweat those man arms again! WORQ!

It's cool to say that to reassure yourself and all, but if Madonna wanted to rush things, she wouldn't have toured this album with 85 dates. She liked the final product, why's it so hard to accept that? Don't see why some fans need to have a taste that matches Madonna's 100%. BTW, the movie thing was after she finished touring, so basically all 2010, NOT 2007, when she recorded the music. About the Pharrell thing, it comes from a French site and I've seen no other evidence of it, can anyone show a link to the interview? Plus it might mean nothing, either just Madonna wants to save some rejects from HC, either it's her usual self that she starts the album with the previous collaborator (like she almost finished ROL part 2 with Orbit before having Mirwais, or how she admitted most of Confessions was meant to be done by Mirwais once again). I wouldn't think too much into it.

If there are any Pharrell tracks, PLEASE no references to raw sugar or her booty getting down.

apparantly Pharrell is working on the album. ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png) That could really go either way. I sort of liked what he did on Hard Candy, but I wouldn't want him to just do the same sort of thing again. However, the kind of work he does with Chad Hugo as N*E*R*D tends to be more experimental and edgy and something like that could work. In the lead up to the album, we always do hear about different names being thrown around and more often than not, the ones who end up making the cut aren't always the ones we hear about during the early stages.

Nicki Minaj is a big Madonna fan, but I could do without that kind of collaboration.

Me too. Not because they wouldn't do well together but because I think Madonna needs to not rely on anything hip-hop and go to a more underground electronic direction.

Nicki Minaj is a big Madonna fan, but I could do without that kind of collaboration. it could happen eaisly, but i wouldnt want it. i do want some hot collabs for this album. kinda like the new enrique album, 4 songs with big features. i just want very different features than the enrique ones, but im not quite sure who i want yet. I think she should have Britney feature on a song. When was the last time Britney feautred on a song? (not the other way around). It just doesnt happen, and i could see it being a big hit EX: Telephone. i really want a year of female collabs (not involving nicki). Katy perry and rihanna is a nice paring. Maybe clarkson and pink. madonna and brit. lastly beyonce and alexandra burke (introducing her to America) I think another feature of JT would be just fine. He always brings interest (Ciara, Madonna, Timbaland, T.i.). Cheryl cole. Very fresh right now, major UK smash. Not the best voice in the world similar to madonna, but a very solid dancer. Far east movement. Idk why but i could see it working amazingly

"Me Against the Music" was quite enough, thanks. We don't need another. :)
Madonna is best when it's just Madonna. Most of her vocal collaborations do not measure up to her best work- thankfully, they've been few and far between. Some of the more interesting ones were not released as singles ("Love Song" with Prince, "Guilty By Association" with brother-in-law Joe Henry).

Madonna Is Britain's Most Written About Celebrity Madonna has filled more column inches in Britain than any other celebrity over the last decade, according to new research. The singer came top of a study to find the star who has grabbed the most headlines in U.K. print press since 2000.
The research by Kantar Media found Madonna has been mentioned a massive 46,017 times over the last 10 years, while British music mogul Simon Cowell came second with 29,888.
Kantar Media researcher Brian Merron says, "This shows why she's hailed as a legend. That stickability factor in the consciousness of the nation marks her as a special talent and someone who is able to constantly re-invent themselves to change with the times."
Pop star Robbie Williams took third place, ahead of supermodel Kate Moss and Britney Spears in fourth and fifth respectively. The top 10 also features Victoria and David Beckham, Michael Jackson, Sir Paul McCartney and Kylie Minogue.

She worked with both Chad and Pharrell (collectively The Neptunes) on Hard Candy. Their sound progressed to another level on that album. She worked more with them than she did with Timbaland and his camp.

rumor has it the Pharrell collaboration is just a song (maybe) on the next Neptune's album, not M's.

This is probably the first Madonna album since I started following music that I seem to have absolutely zero interest in.
I mean, she'll have success with her first single, that's pretty much a given, but she's so boring nowdays imo with her attitude towards her music projects that it's just not fun anymore to follow her.

Well, she's been busy with that silly movie of hers. Once she gets into music mode, hopefully that will be her focus.

I just want Madonna to do a mature album because it's long overdue. Hard Candy was fine for what it was, but it's been a long time since she's recorded something deep.

Dear Madonna, Please contact Klas ร
hlund immediately to have him produce several songs on your forthcoming record, if you have not already done so. You may also contact Billboard for the same purpose. Thank you.

I really just want her to do what she used to do, which is work with a relatively underground producer. She's in a position where it's very unlikely she'll flop and it's not as if Music for example was particularly alienating despite the fact she collaborated with an unknown. I didn't hate Hard Candy, but it was just so lazy. A decent enough album, but a pretty sub-standard Madonna album. That said I completely understand if she's just not that bothered anymore. I mean, what hasn't she done? I can't imagine she has a whole lot left to say via music. Unless she's up to at least attempting to create something on par with her better material, I'd sooner she didn't bother. If she works with David Guetta I'll hunt her down and throw Erotica, ROL and Confessions RIGHT in her face.

I don't want her trying to act like a hot young thing with this. She needs to focus on the music itself instead of the image. If she makes bad attempts to be all 'hip' and 'hot' then I'm not even going to bother taking any interest in this. She has to realise that she is not in her 20's anymore. She's over 50.

I love how people say I wont her to care about her music again and work with under ground people again. One album that had mainstream producers that wasn't up to her usual standard and we write her off?
Um no.

i'll never write her off. I'm in it for the long haul. Plus i really like Hard Candy. It's one of my favorites simply cuz I still listen to it. Give It 2 Me Heartbeat Miles Away She's Not Me Devil Wouldn't Recognize You those are all good songs. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png)
