^LOL, and that's what some people were saying before the release of "Ray of Light." The thing with Madonna is you can never count her out.
The demo of GMAYL has lessened my hopes of some sort of cohesive concept album, and it is unlikely M will top LAP or ROL this go around, but even an album that ranks among her top four or five would still be considered quite an accomplishment.

If this album is Confessions-like good, that will be just fine. Sonically, it well could end up being a ROL/Confessions...hybrid, which would be great.

Well, I for one, hope it tops ROL and LAP. Those two albums are not at the top of my Madonna list. I hope it's like a Confessions-type album. I guess we'll see soon enough what she has in store for us. And, I love the hype. It makes it exciting!

If it topped LAP or ROL, then it WOULD be her best album. :) Not expecting that level of greatness.

^For you- well, or anyone else who thinks COADF is her best album. ;) For myself and lots of others, LAP and ROL are the tops of the lot, in terms of cohesiveness, material and themes. great stuff can be found on most of her albums, though, so in the end, it's all good.

Liz Smith: Madonna Holds Forth on Objectified SexualitybyLIZ SMITH on NOVEMBER 14, 2011 And more from our Gossip Girl: the Material Girl talks βlovers,β teenage rebellion β and but of course, the Duchess of WindsorβMY MOVIE, βW.E.β is all about the cult of celebrity. We like to put people on a pedestal, give them one character trait, and if we step outside of that shrine-like area, then we punish them. Wallis Simpson became famous by default, by capturing the heart of a king. But it is obviously a subject Iβm constantly on the inside of, and on the outside of.β Thatβs Madonna herself in Harperβs Bazaar for November. She appears on the cover with one of the stars of βW.E.,β Andrea Riseborough, who portrays Wallis Simpson, the American divorcee who shook the British Empire, enticed a king to abdicate his throne and became the wandering, bitter, Duchess of Windsor. Madonna is profiled by writer Naomi Wolf. Itβs a good piece. When Madonna lets her guard down and really talks, one always comes away with a fascinating article. I was amused, however, that Ms. Wolf was surprised to find the powerful, formidable Madonna, βopen, even vulnerable.β Iβll say! But Iβve been telling the word for 20 years that M is a much softer, more tentative, more insecure and nicer person than she usually cares to let on. Madonna talks here about her βconditioningβ as a young Catholic girl, raised in Michigan β how she rebelled and how she was βtorturedβ for her refusal to be like other girls. She says, βStraight men did not find me attractive. I think they were scared of me because I was different. Iβve always asked βWhy? Why do I have to do that? Why do I have to look this way? Why do I have to dress this way? Why do I have to behave this way?ββ For Madonna, asking questions and defying convention worked β she remains an iconic and provoking figure on the world stage. (Sheβs got millions, too.) Her four children, her work, her inevitable maturity, and her choice of male companions continue to provoke β and often anger β those who dislike her. And even those who admire her. Everybody always thinks βtheyβ know what is best for Madonna. (Iβve given her advice myself, which I always laugh about. Poor thing canβt get on without wise words from Liz Smith!) Because she remains so attractive and still enjoys showing what sheβs got, the subject of sex is never far off. Madonna says: βI think that the world is not comfortable with female sexuality. Itβs always coming from a male point of view, and a woman is being objectified by a man β and even women are comfortable with that. But when a woman does it, ironically, women are uncomfortable with it β conditioning!β Of her current man of the last two years, dancer Brahim Zaibat, who is somewhat younger, Madonna insists: βWell, it can also be more than just sexual, um appendages. I donβt necessarily like to use the word βloverβ because it sounds like they just come over and have sex with you. I aspire for more than that. I need more than that.β It should be noted that for all her racy reputation, Madonna has only married twice, to actor Sean Penn and then to director Guy Ritchie. She could not have been more in love or more serious about these relationships. And she was crushed when they didnβt work out. The break from Guy was especially painful. They had a child, Rocco, and were married seven years. When she says βI do,β she means it. (And unlike todayβs βstarsβ there was no orgy of wedding photos, sold to the highest bidder. No photo has ever been published of her wedding to Mr. Ritchie.) * * * AN UNFINISHED version of a new Madonna song, βGive Me All Your Love,β was leaked β much to her fury β on the internet last week. It is from her coming, as-yet-untitled album. Itβs fun and danceable. But, there are those who say Madonna, at 53, is simply βtoo oldβ to have fun and dance anymore. (Tell that to all those creaky male rockers and pop-stars, still grinding their hips on concert stages.) Madonna shrugs the subject: βI find whenever someone writes anything about me, my age is right after my name. Itβs like theyβre saying, βHere she is, but remember sheβs this age, so sheβs not that relevant anymore. Or, βLetβs punish her by reminding her and everyone else.ββ But her film, βW.E.β still remains a top priority, though she is recording again, will tour next year and has had remarkable success with the clothing line launched with her gorgeous daughter, Lourdes (better known as Lola.) Madonna is fascinated by Wallis Simpson β her compulsions and her fate. βShe wasnβt conventionally pretty, she had the body of a teenage boy, she was divorced twice β and by the time she married the king she couldnβt have children. What did she have to offer? Sheβs not pretty, fertile, or a virgin, so sheβs useless. I was actually told once by a Japanese woman that thereβs a phrase for women who are past the marrying age: βstale cake.ββ βW.E.β is now slated for a February release, and Madonna has a firm grip on her film. Indeed, she has final cut and will not relinquish that β ever. (Iβve seen βW.E.β She knows her stuff. She is a remarkably gifted director.) But no matter the fate of βW.E.,β no matter how much dance music she makes β to the distress of those who want her to calm down and become a ballad-crooning, Dietrich-style chanteuse. And no matter who her man of choice is, Madonna will never ever be βstale cake.β Sheβs still fresh and the icing remains delicious. www.wowowow.com/liz-smith/liz-smith-madonna-on-objectified-sexuality/Great article. I love liz! I love how she loves Madonna.

Madonna is my one and all time favorite female figure. I have a separate savings account for the next Madonna concert. Please please please Give Me All Your Luv cannot be released it sounds live Avril whatsername. It reminds me of the junk tracks that I often skipped on Hard Candy. Cheerleading pep-rally feel is just BENEATH the one and only Madonna. Keep it if you must as the 11th or 12th track but NOT to be released. Now the intro song at the Roseland ballroom that some kind people posted, that sounds more like it.

You haven't even heard the final version of the song, just the demo. Do people not remember that some of her demos have a tendency of being completely different songs than the final versions on the album? Nothing is "beneath" anyone. People put Madonna up on a pedestal like she's some goddess, and she's not. She's human and an entertainer like anyone else. Obviously Madonna approves of it and wants it released, so I have faith in the project. She's yet to release an album that was horrible yet, so I'm not worried.

If it sounds like a pep rally it isn't going to work. And an Avril whatsername song is not on par with most anything Madonna. Not on the same level, not on par but beneath. Not sure where the the goddess reference came from but there is a certain standard of excellence that this demo does not meet. Getting rid of the pep-rally Avril sound would make this workable. To me, getting rid of Kanye on The Beat Goes On would be a vast improvement. I skip the track when he begins. This is only my opinion, I realize.

At the other board I post at, some people who claim to be in the know say that the version that leaked was a close-to-finished version and that Guy only said it was a demo because the reception to the song was mixed and that gives them some time to 'fix' it up.

They haven't even mastered the album yet, Nicki and M.I.A. weren't on the leak, and people have heard a newer version of the track and say it's a full minute or more longer than what leaked. How could that have been the final/near compete version?

I'm inclined to think that he just got butt hurt that his songs didn't make the album, so he just decided to say on twitter that he wasn't involved. Just like when that Roger Sanchez (?) guy remixed one of her singles, and it wasn't included in the remixes package- he claimed that it never was meant to, and it was a "private mix".

During the same week GMAYL was leaked..2 other songs that Guy O said he never heard of were leaked..funny thing is the song Dirty Little Liar sounded a lot like Madonna...funny thing is ... those songs were taken down fast too.

I think also if madonna wanted to change things up ...she would release something diffrent like a ballad first..ill always remember 1992 in the summer when she released THIS USE TO BE MY PLAYGROUND...it was a really nice ballad and her 10th #1 at the time...just warming things up for the deep dark EROTICA...to come out in the fall......ahhh..the days when she was more invovled with her music more then anything.

There were fake tour dates posted on Madonna.com. Her site was hacked. Someone is out to ruin this era by hacking her site and leaking her music. She needs to tighten security and like now!

but i believe the leak was intentional, as she was chanting the L-U-V's and Y-O-U's herself at the Smirnoff competition, and was baiting the audience to respond to her.

Well, if she did record the W.E. ballad, that should be dropping any day now, if the movie is opening (albeit in like one or two theaters) next month. Not that the ballad will go for radio airplay or anything, but it would tide us over some until the album's lead single drops.

I agree HolidayGuy, the original song for the movie should be out soon. The movie drops Dec. 9 and one would think it would be in that final edit version. Also, you know she and Weinstein are wanting that sure Globe and possible Oscar nom. To be eligible, the song has to be released before the end of the year. My biggest concern is that is she going to record vocals for it? Guy's tweet said she wrote "a beautiful" song for W.E. but nowhere does it state that she will be singing it. All the leaks don't bother me at all because it has happened so many times before and it's not even near the final product anyway. Maybe the leak is on purpose to attract early interest yet then again, there are reports that Madonna is very upset with the leak. Who knows what to believe these days.
