^The plan always was for a limited release in December- that way, it qualifies for the awards (perhaps it will get some technical nods). I believe it's being shown in one or two theaters for a week.

There were fake tour dates posted on Madonna.com. Her site was hacked. Someone is out to ruin this era by hacking her site and leaking her music. She needs to tighten security and like now!  I'm pretty sure the leak of the demo was intentional, even if they deny it. |

^ I'm sold! Beautifully filmed with vivid visuals. The detail in the set direction is amazing and the acting looks good also, especially Andrea Riseborough. Oscar nom for costume design for sure. Madonna's vision shines through.
Wonder why her song was not used in this??

If she does perform a song, they probably don't want to leak it yet. :)
I don't know if costumes are a sure thing for an Oscar nod- Evita didn't get a nod in that category, surprisingly.

Probably Abel K's score theme melody will be used and she will write the lyrics. I hope for her voice to be very mature like Evita and then she can "kick ass" with her new album. |

The Academy may not be comfortable nominating M- she never had Oscar nods in the past- "This Used to Be My Playground," for instance, seemed tailor-made for the Oscars. Then again, not sure of how the rules work (if a track has to be in the movie, not just the credits, etc.) If anything, "Live to Tell" should have been nominated, but not sure if that was written specifically for At Close Range or what.

It's not one of her best vocal showings, but I don't think it's as bad as some make it out to be. She didn't sound as good as she did in Girlie Show, but then again, it's one of those tracks that utilized her full range (at the time) on record. This was her first live-vocal performance in more than a year, I believe (she had European promo performances for Bedtime Stories), but they were lipped).

More tidbits about the new album:The album version to GMAYL is about 4.40 minutes. It supposedly is full of energy and has an amazing build up. The album will have anywhere from 14-20 tracks! There are more producers than we think. Work for the album started long before Orbit was involved. "Give Me All Your Love" is the only "radio friendly upbeat" track although every song on the album could be a single. The rest of the album is a new sound not only for Madonna but supposedly in general from whats out there currently. It's supposed to be very different than what we expect. Universal plans on milking the album not only before it's out but all the way even until after the tour is over. They have high hopes for the album. The album is supposed to be a real and exciting treat for the fans!

Some of those tidbits are very generic and don't say a heckuva lot, but always nice to read.
I highly doubt there would be close to 20 tracks on an album. The most she's ever had on a regular studio album is 13 (14 if you count "Has to Be" on the Japanese edition of Ray of Light.)
Good idea there, jlfl- you'll rediscover some great stuff. :)
