Martin & MadonnaSolveig on that notorious track leakBy Dave Wedge Tuesday, November 29, 2011When Madonna took to social media earlier this month to beg fans to stop posting a leaked track from her upcoming album, no one was more troubled than French producer Martin Solveig. “We had a terrible leak ... and everyone is very upset about what happened,” said Solveig, who is one of an elite few producers working on the massive Madonna 2012 release. The flap unfolded two weeks ago when a demo version of the Solveig-Madonna track “Give Me All Your Love” hit the blogosphere, much to Madge’s chagrin. The Material Girl tweeted that “real fans” wouldn’t have leaked her music before it was finished. The dance-pop track allegedly also will feature M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj, but Solveig, who plays Royale on Friday in his first-ever Boston show, said he can’t talk about the track. But he did say working with Madonna is a dream come true. “I would have considered this as impossible,” he told the Herald from a tour stop in Miami. “People ask who you would dream to work with. To me working with Madonna was not really something I could do. When I got the call, first I thought it was a joke. And then when I realized it wasn’t, I was real-ly overwhelmed. The collaboration has been an enormous joy and an enormous surprise.” Solveig, 35, is the latest Euro-pean DJ to cross over into the U.S. pop world, joining the likes of David Guetta, Afrojack, Avicii and other top dance-music artists. In addition to his work with Madonna, Solveig (born Martin Picandet) had a hit last year with “Hello,” one of three tracks with indie darlings Dragonette on his latest full-length release “Smash.” The disc first dropped this summer in Europe. “The album ‘Smash’ is finished and ready to be released in the U.S. I’m also working on some different versions, some remixes,” he said. “I’m touring the whole U.S. ... which is overwhelming and great. There is a whole expectation (here) of electronic music and myself. The U.S. crowds appear to be a very, very good crowd. It’s great fun.” While Solveig has benefited handsomely from the blogosphere and the press over the Madonna leak, at the end of the day, he says dance music is all about the live performance. “The interesting part is, always to come to the show because there’s surprises,” he said. “And there’s dancing, which is something you don’t have on the Internet.” www.bostonherald.com/entertainment/music/general/view.bg?articleid=1384427

From Madonnarama: William Orbit Creates Madonna’s “Masterpiece” for W.E. Guy Oseary recently confirmed the rumours about a ballad Madonna recorded for her own movie W.E. Now, we at Madonnarama can finally reveal the title; it’s called “Masterpiece” and it has been produced by William Orbit. The song seems to be about what it feels to love and be loved like a piece of art and how fragile this love can be. From what we hear Madonna’s voice is absolutely stunning in it, and the track is very orchestral. The song will be featured on the soundtrack of the movie and should also be included on Madonna’s upcoming album. Stay tuned for more Madonnarama exclusive news! With a short amount of time between now and when the lead single is supposed to drop (if January), this unlikely will get a radio release (outside of maybe AC). Question is, will it be available for purchase on iTunes within the next month?

I hope holidayguy...best thing would be to just release this to itunes..just the hype of a new Madonna single....might give it enough downloads to maybe get a top 10....lets hope universal and livenation do this different then Warner Bro's did back in the 90's and 2000's when they messed up a lot of madonna's singles and screwed up her chance of hitting # 1 in the 90's quite a few times.

Enough sales for top 10? You mean like 'Celebration" had in 2009? If the ballad is released on iTunes, MAYBE it would sell enough to chart for a week. Without airplay/a video/label push, not much sales potential for it.

If the song's on the soundtrack, they may just want to try selling the soundtrack and not sell it the track individually. Or, maybe they'll realize the commercial potential for the movie isn't that high and just release the track individually.

Madonna to appear on The Graham Norton ShowDuring the past year Graham Norton mentioned multiple times that he’d really like Madonna to appear on his show. BBC AMERICA announced that Madonna will make a rare talk show appearance and her first on The Graham Norton Show on Saturday, January 14, 10:30pm ET/PT as part of the Ministry of Laughs comedy block. She will join her two lead actors Andrea Riseborough and James D’Arcy to chat to Graham about W.E., the romantic drama she’s directed that focuses on the affair between King Edward VIII and American divorcée Wallis Simpson. Expressing his delight at finally welcoming Madonna to the show, Graham Norton said I couldn’t be more excited! This is my real Christmas present. I may have to retire, but that’s not a promise. The Graham Norton Show is first broadcasted in the UK, so English fans will be able to watch Madonna’s appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, January 13, 10:30pm GMT. It's having a one-theater run next week (supposedly) and is set for wide release in early February. its potential depends on how many theaters the studio puts it in. It doesn't seem like a movie that's going to open in 3,000 theaters (possibly not even 2,000). It may open in less than 1,000, which, of course, limits its potential.
Is this the kind of movie that moviegoers will be waiting with baited breath to see? Them may appeal to females, but without big names in it, may be a tough sell.

I studied this in history class but I agree it's appeal seems limited. I love the cinematography! The movie looks beautiful! With that potential limited release, does it stand a chance of even breaking even here? perhaps it will do better internationally.

I believe this will be in limited theaters even when it goes wide Feb. 3 like most indie art house movies do. I think there is a big interest in this film mainly because of all the buzz from the festivals even tho it has received mixed reviews. The reviews may be better once it is released in the States since it has been recut and many are saying it gives Madonna credibility in the industry. Worldwide it should do well and make back its cost to make which I believe is around 18 million.

Madonna Hires Hot Male Models to Deliver Her Scentby Gregory DelliCarpini Jr. December 02, 2011Madonna is fully aware that yes, sex sells. The Material Girl had her new fragrance, Truth or Dare, hand delivered to beauty editors by two gorgeous male models. What better way to pep up a dull day? Making a lasting impression and whetting a few appetites in the process, Madonna had the two models greet Allure's Beauty News Editor, Heather Muir, with one dressed all in black and another in white. "I have always been obsessed by fragrance," Madonna mused to WWD last month. "And for years I wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well. Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name Truth or Dare". So what does this provocative scent smell like? "A white floral that plays on dual forces: gardenia and tuberose," Madge revealed. The model dressed in white held tuberose and gardenia, which Madonna said was symbolic of her of her mother. The second model in Black held the striking white perfume bottle. Truth or Dare will be unveiled in April. www.billboard.com/#/column/the-hook/madonna-hires-hot-male-models-to-deliver-1005603872.story

Supposedly it's just the demo.
The slight vocoder effect needs to be taken off her voice, which sounds great otherwise, and the production can be smoothed out some but other than that I like it!
