You're incorrect, she has sold more than enough physical copies.

It was 200m albums that's been reported for some time; when you add in singles, it's 300m- I know some find a challenge in mathematics, but... And obviously some do not know Warner Bros- it's been one of the most lax labels in terms of certifying product on time and such. "Deceit" may apply to other labels, though, I'm sure. :)
Anyhow, once again, she is the most successful female act to emerge since she debuted. A few others also have been hugely successful- just not as much as Her Madgesty (especially on a worldwide basis).

I'm sticking with 170 200 million album/single sales. 300 million is just way out there and not a fact. She is not the best selling female artist... perhaps when you throw in tours that makes her the most successful, but not just saleswise. Her label inflated those numbers so much it it ain't even funny... You claim she has sold no more than 200 million RECORDS worldwide, well guess what? When you add together her RIAA album and single certs and her 2001 IFPI plaque certifying her for European album sales of 50+ million you get 140 million+ sales. Add in the 10 million+ albums she has sold in Europe since then, according to official IFPI certs, and you get 150 million+. Then add in the 16 million+ singles she has sold in the UK alone in hard sales according to the OCC and you get 166 million+. Then add in the 8 million albums and 3 million singles she has sold in Japan according to Oricon and you get 177 million+. Add in the 10 million+ albums she has sold in Canada and Australia according to official certs and reported hard sales and you get 187 million+. Add in her combined album and single sales from official certifications and reported hard sales in Central and South America and random markets like New Zealand and her total goes over 200 million. But guess what's still missing? Three things: 1.) Her career single sales from Canada, Australia, Ireland, and all of Continental Europe. 2.) The IFPI plaque for European album sales of 50 million was long overdue. The only reason she didn't get that award until 2001 was that's when they started giving them out, she was the first to receive one. Her actual European album sales are 75 million+ when adding up official certs and reported hard sales from across the continent. 3.) Her RIAA album and especially single certs are laughably outdated and many of her records have sold well above their cert despite not quite being eligible for the next certification, i.e. the Platinum certified (1 million) COADF having scanned 1.7 million+. Now run along and go fap to whatever divas you would like to think have sold more than Queen Hassoldmorerecordsthanyourfavedonna.

Even being in the Guinness book as the most successful act isn't enough to convince those with dem blinders on, so it's kinda pointless to go back and forth with it. :)
In a month from now, Her Madgesty should be prepping "Gimme All Your Luvin'" for its much-anticipated premiere. :o

Madonna's new album will open with a ballad written by Sia, and produced by William Orbit titled "Trust". The track is said to be a mix between Live To Tell, and Gone- incredibly melodic, full of layers and harmonies, and background vocals, as well as all strings and flutes.
There supposedly are already FOUR ballads picked to be on the album.

A ballad written solely by Sia? Wonder if she added lyrics to it or something.

That still sounds highly inflated but ok... There are others that are as successful or more successful album sales wise, but as a whole with touring and all she is the most successful...

Did you just gloss over my last post? I suppose you know better than the RIAA, SoundScan, the official UK Charts Company, the BPI, the IFPI, Oricon, etc? Now it's your turn to show some receipts for other females selling more than her. We'll wait...

Females such as Celine Dion and Mimi Carer have not sold as much or more than Madonna- as we've seen with estimates- so who exactly would that leave? Certainly not that Nana person. Touring would only put Madonna even further ahead- without it, she's still been the most successful of any female act to emerge in the years since 1982.

Please show us some concrete information that backs up what you're saying instead of reiterating over and over that the label inflated the sales. How do you know they inflated the sales? Did the label telephone you and tell you that they did that? Just because you think they did does not necessarily mean that they did.

If it's a 12-13 track album or so, 4 ballads doesn't seem like that many. Either she was in the mood to do some again, or her producer(s) wanted her to, or word got back to her that the many of the fans want to hear her do some.

All i'm saying is that you don't just jump from 200 to 300mil like that. That is an gross exaggeration. I won't bring other artists into this for this discussion isn't about them... That 300mil number has yet to be proven...

^Very astute people have taken known certifications/sales and come up with the estimate, or close to it. Nothing jumped from 200m to 300m- like said, WB has said 200m *albums* for some time. It's not 300m albums, but records- albums and singles. But, enough of the back-and-forth-not accomplishing much of anything. Back to celebrating the most important and revered female of the last 30 years (and one of all-time), Her Madgesty, Madonna.

^^Yes it is about that. Turn the page back and reread your posts. You were not only annoyed at Madonna's sales, but you stated she was NOT the most successful female. She is. And this is my last post about this. You can get mad all you want. It does NOT change the facts.
