Can Madonna make comeback in Lady Gaga-dominated world? she managed quite fine in the early 00s, dominated by Britney, Xtina, BSB and NSync Right? Lady Gaga is a threat to no one. Especially Madonna.

^ Right on, Sister....not to mention, this is not a dominated Gaga world. If anybody is dominating it, it would be Adele. Even she is not a threat to Madonna. I dare any 50-year old, with a 30-year+ career in music, stand next to The Queen Of All Things Music, Her Magesty, Madonna!!

i haven't heard the demo in weeks now and i'm STILL humming the chorus when i'm going about my day. I think it's going to be big, even if people hate it. It just gets stuck inside of you.

Discuss:
Madonna's last successful second single from a studio album in the USA was DTM in 2001!
Will Interscope work its magic with Madonna's 2nd single off her new album?

^If it has plans to, it faces quite a battle in terms of radio giving an act of her age consecutive successes. Nothing is impossible, but it would be a big surprise (and a pleasant one) to me if her second single did anything major.

I would've loved a Super Bowl setlist like this:
Gimme All Your Luvin' Express Yourself Ray Of Light Like A Prayer Vogue/4 Minutes (Mashup) Celebration/Holiday (Mashup)

slw- 300m would include albums and singles. Not sure if videos would be included- but that would be the smallest component in there, anyhow. The albums figure probably is 200m+, while the singles figure (including physical and digital) is 100m+. I went to listen to "Masterpiece" again on YouTube and it's gone. Wish they'd put it on iTunes. She did not sell no 300 million records that is grossly exaggerated. Her real number is between 170 to 200 million if that albums and singles. Her label always inflated her sells.

The Guinness Book of World Records has Madonna as selling 285 Million records. That figure was for the year 2009 which was reported in the 2010 edition. She also came off a 450 million dollar grossing tour. She probably sold a lot of albums, singles, videos and blu-ray during and after! Perhaps she is at 300 million now.

If Madonna's tally was only 175-200m, then I shudder to think how much lower other "divas'" numbers would be. Other labels may be masters at inflation, but WB surely ain't one of them. LOL It may come down to wording (i.e. "records" rather than "albums," in the case of 300m). It's around 200m albums. Between the USA and UK alone, she's sold some 50 million-plus singles. So, definitely in the neighborhood of 300m for albums and singles.

If her RIAA album certs were updated she'd be over 70 million in the US alone. If her RIAA single certs were updated that total would look completely different as well, i.e. 30 million+. That's 100 million+ records in the US alone, and she has sold far more internationally.

I'm sticking with 170 200 million album/single sales. 300 million is just way out there and not a fact. She is not the best selling female artist... perhaps when you throw in tours that makes her the most successful, but not just saleswise. Her label inflated those numbers so much it it ain't even funny...

Just wondering. Regarding the Guinness Book records, I don't think a record label (or an artist) could sway or pressure the organization to list a particular record just because they want them to. Such practices would cast doubt on the validity of other records in other categories as well.

So "Masterpiece" is not eligible for Oscar. What a shame. That sucks bigtime. Why is it ineligible?? The rule is, for a song that is a "closing credits number" to be eligible, it has to be the first cue of the film's closing credits. "Masterpiece" is apparently the second cue of W.E.'s credits.

I wonder who Soundz would like to believe is the best-selling female? Uh huh. The albums/singles figure is much loser to 300m than 200m- especially when the albums total alone is 195m-200m. I m ran, come now. 'As for the Oscars- she had a slim chance anyhow, whether eligible or not.

There are no facts to prove that she has sold anywhere near that number. I know who the real best selling female artist is and it ain't her. Firsts she was somewhere around 200mil to a little more, now 300 million get out of here. That number is highly inflated. As far as album sales go i don't see her as being the best selling, she may be the most successful as far as albums/singes/touring for a female artist however.
Lol at her label and their deceit...

No matter what anyone says 300 mil is simply out of line until otherwise. That is all.
