Wow those 2 drama queens LOLOL www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/elton_hubby_trash_madge_R2sqpm8ZJLsFeqbYYM4TCNElton & hubby trash MadgeSir Elton John and David Furnish are fuming over Madonna’s Golden Globes win. After John predicted on the red carpet that Madonna had “no [bleep]ing chance of winning,” he was stone-faced when Madge — at her first Globes appearance in 14 years — triumphed for best original song Sunday night. Her tune “Masterpiece,” from “W.E.,” beat John’s “Hello, Hello” from “Gnomeo and Juliet.” After the win, Furnish posted on Facebook: “Madonna. Best song???? [bleep] off!!!” After her acceptance speech Madonna delivered in a bizarre English accent, Furnish told us: “I think it was a fluke . . . When this happens you have to question the integrity of the awards. Did Madonna get the Golden Globe because she attended the awards and agreed be a presenter?” He added, “Can you sing Madonna’s song? Can you hum it? It’s a song nobody has heard, from a film few have seen. The award should have gone to Mary J. Blige or Elton. I like Madonna’s music, but not her movies. She should stick to what she is good at.” But Madonna was glowing at CAA’s Sunset Tower Hotel after-party, both for her win and turning the tables on Globes host Ricky Gervais by saying, “Why don’t you come over here and do something about it,” after Gervais’ crack about her being “like a virgin.” At the star-studded CAA bash, Angelina Jolie relaxed in a seating area as Brad Pitt ditched his cane and caught up with George Clooney [photo: opposite page], who was with gal pal Stacey Kiebler, and Leonardo DiCaprio and supermodel girlfriend Erin Heatherton. Bradley Cooper chatted until nearly 2 a.m. with Emma Stone, while Mila Kunis and Olivia Munn sat nearby. Later, Cameron Diaz — hanging with Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and DiCaprio on a terrace — was smoking something more fragrant-smeling than a cigarette. A source close to Madonna said, “[“W.E.”] has not officially opened . . . so [it is] accurate that many people haven’t seen it yet. There was no deal made about an award for her attending.”

After Madonna's backstage interview, her co-writers, Julie Frost and Jimmy Harry were interviewed. They talk about how amazing and talented Madonna is and how she took their rough idea of the song and created a masterpiece named Masterpiece. Julie and Jimmy's interview starts at 5:30:

^^Can't see the pic, but were they the two people that were standing behind Madonna on stage. If so, she shook and greeted the ladies hand as to never have met her?

^They may never have met, actually. Her involvement probably was similar to how she contributed to "I'll Remember." Not sure if this was ever posted here, but here's a link to Richard Page talking about- and performing his own version of- "I'll Remember": westcoast-aor.ning.com/video/richard-page-solo-acoustic-ill

How about bringing her to f**king Australia you morons. Her excuse is that we don't have st adiums that are well suited? 100,000 state of the art sports arenas not good enough for ya? Per-lease. A slew of Australian stadium dates were on the rumored tour itinerary that leaked after her website "accidentally" posted some dates.

Madonna's last excuse for not touring Australia was the weakness of the Australian dollar. In other words, she might not have made a profit. And, Australians love to go to concerts but will not pay $300+ for a ticket. Remember the backlash against Britney because she lip-synched most of her concert? Australians don't take no shit. LOL

I'm hoping the win will convince Interscope to add "Masterpiece" as a bonus track to the album.

I just Tweeted Guy Oseary and asked him why Masterpiece isn't at iTunes.
I know he won't answer me...

From billboard:
Madonna Title: "M.D.N.A." | Release Date: March
Madonna scored her first top 20 Billboard Hot 100 hit in 1983 with "Holiday" -- and she's been on the move ever since. One of the music industry's few career artists, the singer/songwriter/producer/entrepreneur -- in tandem with longtime manager Guy Oseary ( @guyoseary) -- possesses an innate sense when it comes to reading the pulse of the industry and what her fans want.
Following November rumors, it was formally announced in December that the singer had inked a three-album pact with Interscope -- at a base of $1 million per album. This is in addition to her continuing the 10-year multirights album deal with Live Nation signed in 2007, which is reported to be worth as much as $100 million.
During her three-decade career, Madonna's Nielsen SoundScan-era (1991-present) U.S. album sales stand at 26.9 million, and she holds the record for the most successful tour by a solo artist, according to Billboard Boxscore. The seven-time Grammy Award winner is also a Rock and Roll of Fame inductee. Her last album, 2008's Hard Candy, debuted at No. 1 in 27 countries.
The first studio album under Madonna's new pact -- and first since leaving longtime label Warner Bros. after Hard Candy -- will be released in late March. The yet-untitled set finds Madonna collaborating with producers Martin Solveig and William Orbit. Through spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg, Madonna told Billboard that she's "thrilled" to be collaborating again with Orbit, who co-produced her 1998 album, "Ray of Light."
Also in December, the singer completed the Megaforce-directed video for the new album's first single, "Gimme All Your Luvin'." Featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., the single arrives the last week of January -- just ahead of Madonna's buzzed-about performance at Super Bowl XLVI's halftime show on Feb. 5. With Cirque du Soleil, Moment Factory and Jamie King in tow as collaborators, the performance is sure to be memorable.

Let me make this clear, are you saying that Gaga is irrelevant right now? If so, then the only relevant artist in the world right now is Adele. After name dropping Adele I decided not to read the remaining part...I thought it was clear that I stated that the people I used as examples have proven to have longevity and sustainability past their peak. Can't really claim compare that against an artist that is hot right now. Since you used Slaydele. She is at the top of her game right now...has she proven 13-21-30 yrs of longevity and sustainability past her peak...seems pretty simple and direct to me. But this argument is old now. But yeah, on to the next subject... Since this has to do more with Gaga than M, I'll take and respond to your post in Gaga's thread. -------------- It looks like noone is willing or able to provide the proof that Gaga was indeed lying when she said that she'd heard from Madonna and/or her people by email. But that issue seems to keep coming up from time to time, so I'll say what I know here about the situation by re-posting from another thread an answer that I had made the last time the issue came up:

Some people keep stating as a fact that Gaga was lying without being able to provide a proof. Why shouldn't I be allowed to respond to what I see as an untrue accusation that keeps being perpetuated? Provide a proof that she was indeed lying and i'll drop it.

No in a recent interview Madonna did get asked about Australia and she mentioned some half assed excuse about our stadiums. During the HC tour, our dollar was (and still is) very strong, to the US dollar (one for one.)
We don't mind the occassion bit of lip syncing, within reason. She sings most of her shows live and dances wonderfully. Her tours are simply some of the best.
Re Britney, she charged $200+ to get people to see her hadly dance... erm move her boy and lipsync (she hasn't ever toured here properly and before Circus, was renounded as a brilliant dancer/performer) thus we felt ripped off. We as Ozzies were pissed because our God P!nk had just been touring doing so much more (like hanging from the f**king roof half the time) and didn't lip once, and charged a lot less.
Chris Brown for example, came and lipped a few of his songs on his tour with Riri BUT blew people away with his dancing. We understand that it's hard to sing live and dance.
We would never hate Madonna for lipping if it is within reason. I understand that financially it may be quite hard to make it worth her while but she could sell out the stadiums and THEN some to make it profitable. Part of me thinks she just doesn't like Australia or at this point in her career, can't be fussed to come so far.
I don't hate her for it but as a fan, I think I'll have to see her when I am traveling abroad. Shame. She has sold very consistently in Australia.

Why does Elton John "hate" Madonna? Am I missing something? Did something happen before the Awards ceremony? Or did he just really believe she should not have won ???

There was beef when... around the time Die Another Day was released. He said it was one of the worst Bond songs. Then for Re-Inventions tour I believe (or was it the Confessions Tour?) he made the comment about her lipsyncing.
As some have pointed out, during the 90's he couldn't get enough of her. There is no incident that I know of where they had a falling out, not in the open...
Anyone care to shed any light on this?

Die Another Day is an awesome song, and you can't dance 100% of the time and still sing at the same time ALL THE TIME. He just sits at a piano. His opinions are invalid. Case still closed.

Don't belittle musicianship to make a case for "dancing". Singing and playing the piano takes some serious coordination. Just my 2 cents.

Elton still had no point. 3 songs out of 24 where lipped on the Re-Invention Tour. Only 3 out of 24. Two had heavy vocoder effects on the vocals so they wouldn't have sounded live anyway, and during the other song she was doing head stands and back bends.

While I certainly enjoyed that little moment of Madonna shade I am not looking forward to the number of times I will see the word reductive used improperly. Elton John's criticisms were not reductive. They were baseless and bitter, but that is not what reductive means.
