I know what it means and I know that it wasn't used all that well but Madonna didn't use it so well which is why I used it here. It's just checky snark.

After the lip-synching comments, Elton later apologized and said he knew Madonna sang the majority of her shows live, but that she believes for the best live category, it should be *all* live. He added that she's a great artist, entertainer, blah, blah, blah. He does seem to have some personal issue, though, as if he's above her- and, he's entitled to think whatever he likes. I'm sure Madge isn't losing sleep over it.

he's never had a valid point. Die Another Day is an awesome song, and you can't dance 100% of the time and still sing at the same time ALL THE TIME. He just sits at a piano. His opinions are invalid. Case still closed. Whoa. And what makes you think the piano is easy to just "sit at" and play? Because I can do it.

I know what it means and I know that it wasn't used all that well but Madonna didn't use it so well which is why I used it here. It's just checky snark. I think Madonna used it perfectly. It has two definitions - So reduction is: Hmm, meiosis. That's intriguing. Let's look that up! And finally, reductionism: Obviously Madonna was calling BTW a reduced, or more watered-down, version of Express Yourself. But what I especially liked in her choice of word is that there are literally scientific definitions to it that break the insult down so wonderfully - taking the meiosis definition, it is basically saying Express Yourself is the 'mother' that passed on half its DNA to the daughter, BTW. Or if we are to use the definition of reductionism, Express Yourself was a complex phenomenon and BTW just reduced it to a simpler/more basic form. The meiosis explanation ties into the album title (M.D.N.A. = mDNA) really neatly that way while having a "layman" definition that is still applicable. I have no doubt Madonna anticipated being asked about BTW and gave a lot of thought into having just the right word at the ready. It was flawless. Elton John's bitterness is not a reduction or copy of anything, it's just him being salty for who knows what reason. He wasn't even being shady, he was just being a hater and it blew up in his face. There are plenty of other fancy words that I'm sure would apply to him for that, but reductive just wasn't one of them. Your attempt at checky snark missed the mark, sorry.

Madonna continues to be successful. Elton John continues to flop. Case closed. Remember that Elton being a generation older than Madonna and releasing his first record 13 years before her is also to blame for that. Regardless of any "ageist radio" issue, once an act reaches a certain age their career completes its cycle no matter how current they try to be or how big they once were. People just stop caring about their new material. Literally the *only* example of someone in Elton's age bracket getting a notable hit single or studio album was Louis Armstrong's one Hot 100 #1 at the age of 66, over 40 years ago. Madonna has already sustained a commercially successful career a bit longer than Elton did, and has been far more consistent in terms of each album's level of success within the first 30 years, so your point still stands. I'm just saying that it's no surprise than Madonna has more commercial potential out of the two.

MadonnaTribe posted the following tibits. So the soundtrack will have several tracks less than what appears on that Soundcloud site? Or will a deluxe edition have a lengthier tracklist? I don't think anyone expects "Masterpiece" to be promoted at radio. And I also would not be surprised if it's album-only and can't be purchased individually. www.madonnatribe.com/news/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=6300W.E. - Music From The Motion PictureHere is an update about the release of "W.E. - Music From The Motion Picture", the soundtrack for the new Madonna-directed movie coming out with Interscope later this month. As previously reported here on MadonnaTribe last month, the film score will receive a digital release at the end of the month. "W.E. - Music From The Motion Picture" will be released on January 31st as a digital download and the same day will also be available as an iTunes exclusive version in bundle with a digital booklet. As reported here last week, by popular demand the soundtrack will also receive a physical release. The CD is currently scheduled for release on February 7. The soundtrack album will contain the amazing film score composed by Abel Korzeniowski as well as the Golden Globe winner "Masterpiece", written by Julie Frost, Jimmy Harry and Madonna, co-produced by William Orbit and performed by the movie director herself. "Masterpiece" is also scheduled to be released on Madonna's new album "M.D.N.A.", also out on Interscope in late March. www.madonnatribe.com/news/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=6307''W.E.'' soundtrack Tracklist and (no) single release infoMadonnaTribe has learnt more tidbits about the upcoming release of the film score for Madonna's latest movie. "W.E. - Music From The Motion Picture" will have the following tracklist: 01. Charms 02. Duchess Of Windsor 03. Revolving Door 04. I Will Follow You 05. Abdication 06. Six Hours 07. Brooklyn Faces 08. Evgeni's Waltz 09. Satin Birds 10. Letters 11. Dance For Me Wallis 12. Masterpiece As you can see "Masterpiece" wraps up the soundtrack album - coming up as previously reported in both digital and physical formats - and is 3β59β long. Speaking of this upcoming release, MadonnaTribe understands that "Masterpiece" will not be sent to radios as a single.

I think before attempting to co-opt Madonna's fancy words, some of us should invest in a good spellcheck first, no?

Madonna continues to be successful. Elton John continues to flop. Case closed. On the contrary, I don't think he tours as excessively as Madonna but he does often sell out his shows and is *very* respected for then. He plays for three hours. I've never heard anything bad about his concerts. Plus he doesn't release pop-friendly songs anymore. You can't flop if you aren't aiming for hits. He's had his time and it was very successful.

Yeah, it's one thing to trash Elton for his crass and tacky comments but coming for his talent? Not gonna happen. There is NO way, for the sake of Madonna stans here, that I am going to get into a dissertation about Elton's talent/artistic merit vs. Madonna's. It's just preposterous. Madonna is Madonna and Elton is Elton and we will leave it at that. She won the award; he was wrong. End of discussion.

Yah, chartfreak- would not be surprising if the label withheld "Masterpiece" from individual purchase, in hopes to sell more units of the soundtrack. If it doesn't I will be pleasantly surprised. :)

Ugh, the end of this month is going by so slowly. I had a dream last night that the single leaked, and like 3 other songs from the album leaked in remixed form.

If it doesn't I will be pleasantly surprised. :) if it will be included on the album also, wouldn't it be available on iTunes? im sure it would do very well in sales. The YouTube hits are very high in relation to Masterpiece.

Would love if it leaked on my Birthday....1/26! :)
I was hoping for at least 1-2 full weeks of radio play before the release to Itunes. Is 2/7/12 confirmed as the Itunes release date?

Some people keep stating as a fact that Gaga was lying without being able to provide a proof. Why shouldn't I be allowed to respond to what I see as an untrue accusation that keeps being perpetuated? Provide a proof that she was indeed lying and i'll drop it. Prove she is telling the truth. Where's the email? But do it in the gaga forum, please. We all know the truth. How are the trolling posts permitted? Sure, I'll show you the email -- would you like to see the email that George sent to Leo too? Gurl, if I have an authentic email from Madonna to Lady Gaga, that s**t would be on eBay not Pulse. Some people accused Gaga of lying. The burden of proof is on them to provide the evidence that she did so, otherwise it's slander. But why on earth is there a need for her to show the email, anyway? There was no denial from M's camp. The denial was made up by some loon on Examiner.com that some people eagerly latched on because they really wanted to believe it. And no, thanks, I don't have to go to Gaga's thread. This s**t has to do with M, and the accusations were made here. In fact, floridagrl had graciously informed me that the video in which Gaga was supposed to commit her egregious lies had been posted here at least 3 times. Funny how that was perfectly fine, but not so when a request to provide the proof was made :). And I am certainly not trolling. I made reasoned responses to the posts that were made here and I didn't make any personal attack on any members. This isn't a fan forum -- negativity isn't forbidden. If anything, it's those who keep telling people to go away when they don't like what they read who are doing the trolling :).

I simply posted the video where Gaga said she received an email from Madonna and her people. You didn't believe it so I posted it. As far saying Gaga lied, I am afraid you got me confused with someone else. Secondly, get off your lazy ass and google the statement Liz Rosenberg released about her not aware of any emails. After a week later, you're still crying about it. LOOK IT UP!

The Examiner article came after CNN and The Hollywood Reporter both reported that Madonna's rep denied ever sending Lady Gaga an email.
Anyways...I can't even wrap my head around all of this promotion. This is the most Madonna has done/will do since what, Ray of Light?

So apparently we're going to be slammed with the song, video, Superbowl commercials, and the Halftime Show all within a couple weeks of each other. Sensory overload, which I'm sure is completely intentional.

Madonna's camp denies approving of Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way'Bryce Westervelt, Billboard Hot 100 Examiner February 18, 2011Did Lady Gaga lie to Jay Leno? According to pop music icon, Madonna's representative, Lady Gaga most certainly did. Lady Gaga, during a post-Grammy appearance on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' said that she had received a "blessing" from Madonna through the email about her new single 'Born This Way.' Lady Gaga told Leno: I got an email from her people and her, sending me their love and complete support on behalf of the single and if the queen says it shall be, it shall be...Gaga has come under fire by some critics that say that she ripped-off Madonna's 'Express Yourself.' Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, says that no such email from the 'Queen of Pop' was ever sent.Perhaps Gaga spent too much time (72 hours is quite a while) inside of that egg and 'misremembers' the email from Madonna. Is Gaga lying or was there actually a letter sent by Madonna's team, though her representative knows nothing about it? Letter or no letter, rip-off or not a rip-off, 'Born This Way' has sold 480,000 copies and is the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100. That is the truth! www.examiner.com/billboard-hot-100-in-national/madonna-s-camp-denies-approving-of-lady-gaga-s-born-this-way I figure I better post it so this will be the end of this nonsense! If not, it will be time to alert the mods.

The email discussion is over and done with because it's going absolutely nowhere. The above article was posted numerous times last year and it was discussed then too. End it now. It's done. Move on.
