This has unfortunately become Madonna & Friends, no longer Madonna at the halftime show. And LMFAO is a horrible choice. Adding Cee-Lo was enough.

People should stop putting Madonna on some pedestal and acting like she's better than everyone else, and some "goddess" who shouldn't work with anyone who isn't a "legend". I've always been extremely annoyed with people who are screaming she shouldn't be on this or that television show, she shouldn't do this or that promo spot because it's "beneath her". Seriously? I mean, like who you want to like, and dislike who you want to dislike, but Madonna is an artist just like everyone else, and not some higher being who is above it all.

That was not a diss at Madonna. Some people just annoy me.
Sorry, I'm in a bitchy mood today, ha.

Aerosmith had N Sync and company at the 2001 Super Bowl. And other years have had multiple performers, so Madonna & Friends would hardly be a precedent. She is the headlining act and she's entitled to have a few guests (as lackluster as some may be- i.e. LMFAO). The last several halftime shows have been singe performers, so it's nice for an act of her caliber to invite others- and LMFAO happens to be an act that the youth is into right now (unfortunately).
No one will take the spotlight away from Her Madgesty- count on that much.

She should ask lady gaga to help her during the performance, what is she afraid of?
It would be like a past to present thing. Shes already bringing fucking LMFAO and Nicki Minaj , so I don't see what the big issue is.

Madonna is on a pedestal. She is a legend. There comes an inherent credibility with being able to survive in a vicious industry for 30+ years while mostly being seen as a trailblazer and leader of pop music. She isn't just another one hit wonder pop tart and Madonna herself has spent decades actively developing herself as somehow better, somehow more creative, somehow more...legendary than her competition. I am not saying she should never work with anyone or never work with anyone that isn't also a legend, but Madonna is a brand in itself now and you have to be careful with your "brand" sometimes. You will never see certain artists work with other artists for exactly that reason. Sometimes it is even contractual. I know Coldplay's label is especially aggressive protecting their brand and many potential duets or collaborations have been killed by the label in the name of protecting their image. And yes, I know, we want a perfect world where business doesn't matter, image doesn't matter, all that matters is what you like, how dare anyone imply otherwise, etc. A perfect world would be nice, but I have been around long enough to know that it doesn't exist. I have always trusted Madonna's business sense though so I will trust her here too. Like I said, it is a fine line and most of the time Madonna has been successful walking that fine line. (By the way since I am sure someone will misintrepret that I am not saying Madonna is the only legend ever or that no one else will ever become a legend. There are many legends with many different images or reasons for being a legend and many exciting young stars who may one day be performing at the Super Bowl with fans bitching about the guest stars not being good enough for a legend )

Madonna was forced to include those acts by NBC. It was all or nothing.

Forced to include those acts? Where did that bit of speculation come from? I could see NBC "suggesting" Green, as he's a mentor on The Voice. But, LMFAO?

The correct title for Madonna's new album is MDNA - written as a single word, no points in between. Both Madonna's new label Universal/Interscope and her manager Guy Oseary confirm this, with Guy posting a rather self explanatory message on Twitter overnight. Are you ready for MDNA? -Mdnatribe

I love the 30 second clip and the guitar gets you moving like M in the clip. Lol. I think NBC is hoping for a larger interest with adding the other acts but Madonna will be the focus with the others as a backup with her songs. As one of the best, she knows how to put on a great show and wants it to be better than any other halftime show with lots of talk about it. She is going to deliver big time.

LMFAO is hott right now, their singles are selling huge, it will attract a certain crowd, therefore exposing her music(and new single) to more audience.

new song revealed "Beautiful Killer". www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/movies/la-ca-madonna-20120129,0,280629.story?page=2 "I feel like all the records on the radio right now have a homogenized quality to them," she said in The Times interview. "I've made a huge effort to try and not sound like everybody else. The music that I've done with William is quite introspective, whereas Martin's is more ironic and funny and upbeat. There's a really up aspect to it and a really fun aspect to it."

Madonna Calls M.D.N.A. 'Action-Packed'Queen of Pop tells MTV News most of her upcoming album is more 'high-energy' than award-winning 'Masterpiece.' By Jocelyn Vena (@jocelyn1212) Jan 27 2012 6:53 AM EST 2,304Madonna has teased fans not only inadvertently with a leaked demo of her first single for "Gimme All Your Luvin," but also with "Masterpiece" (which also appears on the soundtrack for her film, "W.E."). So far it seems that the two very different tracks show the two very different sides that the Queen of Pop is pursuing on her next studio release, M.D.N.A. While "Gimme" plays up Madge's playful, upbeat persona, "Masterpiece," as she explained to MTV News, is a different story. " 'Masterpiece' is one of the few kind of more down-tempo songs, more reflective," she told MTV News at the New York City premiere of "W.E." "I think the majority of the record is more action-packed," she teased. "More high-energy." It seems, then, that what fans have heard of "Gimme" is more of what they will hear on the album. The album will reportedly get a March release date. It features production from Martin Solveig on its lead single, which gets some presumably sassy assists from two fierce female MCs, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Both ladies will reportedly take the stage with the pop icon to perform the track at the Super Bowl halftime show. Madonna also worked with longtime collaborator and Ray Of Light producer William Orbit, who produced the Golden Globe-winning "Masterpiece." "We've worked on stuff for so many years that we kind of finish each other's sentences. He knows my taste and what I like," she explained at the premiere. "Magic happens when we get into a recording studio together." At the Globes, Madonna recalled how "Masterpiece" came together. "[My manager Guy Oseary] harangued me for the entire time I was filming and editing my movie to write a song," she said during her acceptance speech for Best Original Song. "And I said, 'Please, Guy, I'm trying to focus on being a director and I want people to pay attention to the film and I don't have time.' So then I finished the film and I started making my record and somehow magically and miraculously the song emerged, 'Masterpiece,' so thank you, Guy Oseary, for being so irritating." www.mtv.com/news/articles/1678009/madonna-mdna-masterpiece.jhtml
