I think it would behoove us all to not use such grandiose, inaccurate language to describe nominally known, barely selling, just very recent up and coming gay dance artists. Let's support brand new artists WHO HAVE ORIGINAL TALENT in more creative ways than resorting to cliche' and hyperbole- leave that to PR and management. If underground club/dance music wants to maintain its street credibility, we could all benefit from limiting the term "superstar" to U.S. circuit DJ's as well, especially as most are anything but.
Back to school here for a moment: Superstar is a term used to refer to a celebrity who has great popular appeal and is widely-known, prominent or highly successful in some field. This does not describe Ryan W in any modicum of reality. New Aspiring dance artist? Likely. Cute gay boy who has a limited vocal range and is trying to make his mark in the gay club scene but will most likely only score a couple of unsuccessful, forgettable dance records? Unfortunately, that's more likely.
In 2011? A Superstar? Get Real. Anybody and everybody can put out a couple of dance songs and be popular for about 5 minutes then forgotten. Exhibit A- the classy Housewives of Bravo. Doesn't equate to "superstar" status.

I liked Oceans.. a lot actually.
But he's no superstar. He's a brand new artist. Just because someone got nominated for a circuit award doesn't make him a superstar. Your logic has a couple holes in it. This isn't negativity. It's called honesty...reality...not hyperbole.

never heard of him. any relation to Kristine W? =P ??? :kii: The significant majority of Dance music fans around the world probably haven't either. Whenever I posted a review of one of his singles at my blog, I would get a bunch of people emailing and asking the same question about Ms. W, "IS HE KRISTINE'S KID?!" and the borderline annoying "DO YOU HAVE HIS NUMBER?! IS HE SINGLE?" and the absolutely creepy "DOES HE DEAL WELL WITH EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE AND INTIMACY ISSUES?"  I'll be reviewing this in a day or two. |

To my knowledge, He is pretty new to the dance music world. He Seems to keep proving himself over and over. Really like everything he has put out! Superstar not yet, but think he is on path to make to be one.
