So how many stations that regularly run the show on Saturdays pre-empted the show with Christmas music?
Needless to say, at this time, I'm unable to post the chart. If someone else would care to post it, go ahead. I'm listening to WLIT at the top of every hour to see if they run it at a special time, but I seriously doubt they'll run it today. I have a pending trade for the show, so hopefully I'll receive it real soon.

The Bellingham station that I listen to normally airs AT10 on Sunday mornings. The show was pre-empted here as well, though not with Christmas music.
There must not be a new AT10 show this weekend because Christmas was on the Saturday. I guess the Top 30 of 2004 will run next weekend.

Actually, Casey said at the close of his last show, that the Top 30 of 2004 would be "next week", which of course would be this week. I've heard a few unconfirmed reports that AT10 will run a regular weekly show on New Year's weekend. But Arson's theory of there not being a new show this week sounds feasible, since Christmas was on a Saturday this week. They didn't have a Christmas show this week because some stations run it on Sundays and, since that's the day after Christmas, they don't want to play Christmas music. Next year, when Christmastime spans the entire weekend, they'll probably have a Christmas show that weekend and then the year-end wrap-up on New Year's weekend. Anyway, did anyone hear the show this weekend? If not, then Arson must be right.

Sorry to disappoint you folks but the Top 30 aired this weekend. It was R&R's AC chart:

The #1 story was about how Sheryl was a teacher and how she might go back to teaching again. In the outro, Casey noted it was #1 for 12 weeks.
And in the credits, he mentioned Radio & Records: The Industry's #1 Newspaper.

Wow! Could this mean that Casey is reverting back to R&R starting in 2005? He might as well, since, with only ten songs, there's not much of a difference at all.

Here's how the whole show would look with extras. And yes, it aired in many major US cities today. And that's according to my friends in the West Coast. To those areas that did not air them, try calling your radio stations. Who knows, they might still air them tonight!

A quick note as to why some radio stations in Mid-West and East Coast did not air AT10.
REASON.
Severe weather disturbance in many parts of the US. disrupted operations of Air Hubs of UPS and Fedex which halted deliveries in Dec 22. Guess, you'll have contact your station on when they'll air it.

Crap, not only did I record a repeat of AT10's Christmas show this week, Dick Clark's last countdown was replayed for the 3rd week in a row. Had I known that beforehand, I would have just recorded it locally.

I hope my local station plays the countdown next week and forgoes the regular weekly show. I sent them an e-mail to ask.
I'm glad AT10 is back to using the R&R year-end chart.
The extras sound a little tired (ick, "The Game of Love" and "Truly Madly Deeply"), but interesting that he plays four. In my dreams, he would've played #31-#34, or maybe chose songs that placed lower down year-end, but made top 15 in 2004. I didn't get the chance to hear "Remember When It Rained" or "Last Thing on My Mind" too often even though they were top 15 "hits".

But I guess, too, that some stations haven't quite yet caught up to technology.

I'm glad AT10 is back to using the R&R year-end chart. Actually, I kinda liked it when they used their own version of the chart. It was fun to compare it to the R&R chart. Yeah, I was disappointed to see that they played #1 songs of years gone by instead of, as Casey often puts it, "songs that narrowly missed making the Top 30 of 2004". How many times do we have to hear "Truly Madly Deeply" and "Love Will Keep Us Alive" (I wouldn't have minded hearing "The Game Of Love", since I have yet to get tired of that song. Incidentally, that was one of the first songs I heard on WLIT after they wrapped up their Christmas marathon at midnight Saturday). "Night Fever" was an interesting choice, though I'm not a big fan of that song either.

Well, I do read the weekly charts, but I do not look at the Top 100 lists until I've heard the countdown.

For any chart that's published and broadcast, I usually look ahead. That way, I can tape any songs that I like. Also, it's easier to write down the chart all at once instead of adding one song every 3 or 4 minutes.

Too bad it wasn't in 2004. Because this was the first year in AC history that a song that never hit #1 on the R&R chart was number one for the whole year. I finally got a copy of the show, which I listened to today. I saw that "First Cut Is The Deepest" only peaked at number two. The top three of R&R's year-end chart didn't really make sense. "First Cut Is The Deepest", aside from peaking at #2, spent 36 weeks in the Top 10 and 41 on the Top 30 chart. Yet, down at number three, we had Five For Fighting's "100 Years", which spent an amazing eighteen weeks at the top, 41 weeks in the Top Ten, and 48 weeks in the Top 40. It's true that it debuted a few weeks later, but that shouldn't have meant much. The Top Three songs must have been very, very close in cumulative plays. Seems that "White Flag" also should have ranked over FCIST. If I had heard this show before taking a peek at the R&R chart, I would have sworn it was AT10's made-up list, since the Sheryl Crow song spent twelve weeks at number one.

Check this irony out:
On R&R, Sheryl Crow is #1 for 2004 with a song that failed to get to #1 on the weekly chart.
On Billboard, Dido has the #1 song with "White Flag" - a song that only peaked at #2 there.
Dido managed to get to #1 on R&R only, and Sheryl managed to get to #1 on Billboard only, but they both winded up #1 for the year on the OTHER chart.
And Five For Fighting - who had the longest-running #1 of 2004 on both charts - settled for #3 on both year-end surveys.

On a similar note, "Hanging By A Moment" was the #1 pop song of the year in both Billboard and R&R yet it peaked at #2 on both charts.

On a similar note, "Hanging By A Moment" was the #1 pop song of the year in both Billboard and R&R yet it peaked at #2 on both charts. Not sure how "Everything You Want" by Vertical Horizon fared on Billboard, but it was also #1 for the year 2000 on the R&R Pop chart despite peaking only at #2. That was the first time that a non-number one (weekly) song ever topped the year-end R&R Pop chart, so it's weird that it happened two years in a row.
