Why don't we have a thread on this?
Michael Jackson had the number one album WW last week. Great numbers for him. It's interesting to look at this vs. the Billboard 200. Who said Rihanna was a singles artist? Pink also is a huge force on a WW basis, and Taylor Swift is less of a big deal.

Most of Swift's sales are domestic, as expected.

Most of Swift's sales are domestic, as expected. "Back To December" will not help her cause internationally. I am quite surprised "Need You Now" by Lady A got pretty big in Europe. They seem to lean towards disco-pop.

I'm pretty sure the singles artist term only occurs in the US, so I don't see the need to bring WW numbers.
Just as much are Taylor Swift's numbers domestic, Rihanna is mostly from the UK, and MJ is def. worldwide.

The Black Eyed Peas re really doing well WW, I know these are not 100% accurate, but it seems their US sales are just 25% of their total.

^ Yep. That's why I wasn't stressing over the US response to it as much...I know it will still sell well WW if they continue pushing singles and promoting it. They have a huge following in Europe, just like Rihanna.
P!nk's WW numbers are really amazing too, esp for a GH compilation and not much promo.

Why is Michael Buble's sales still so high? he has no radio presence now and the album came out like more than a year ago.

Sales are so bad, even worldwide actually they're aren't too bad (according to this chart anyway) & pretty typical for this week of the year... they are down from this week last year, but up from 2009's top 40 (below) 1) Britney - Circus Jive - 106.000 2) Beyoncé - I Am... Sasha Fierce 103.000 3) Twilight 85.000 4) Nickelback - Dark Horse 84.000 5) Pink - Funhouse 79.000 www.mediatraffic.de/albums-week03-2009.htm

Hopefully sales catch up next week but I doubt it.

Over 12 million worldwide. It's certified 6xPlatinum worldwide, meaning 12m.
BTW It's 9 weeks away from the record for most weeks at the top 40.

I can't believe after all this time, TFM is still at #12 (3,000 copies away from #10). Absolutely insane. :o

^ Correct me if I'm wrong, but WW doesn't a sale of deluxe Fame Monster and the sole EP version count the same? I know they are separated in the US, but I don't think that's the case internationally which would of course give the album a great advantage. Amazing longevity, nonetheless.

The sales for the separate EP that was released in the US don't count towards the main album, but the rest of the releases do count.
