Is George Strait still putting out albums? Yes, and he's still topping the Country Songs Chart like crazy. His last album, 2009's Twang, sold over 600,000. Thats what i thought. Couldnt remember if i was thinking of something/somebody else. Thanks. |

Thanks. yeah some of those country guys are easy to mix up. Strait won't be passing Carey anytime soon on the all-time album sales list, but at least he'll stay relevant. |

"Mine" and "Today Was a Fairytale" sold less than 4 million combined, probably closer to 3 million. "Back to December" has sold less than a million. What I'm saying is, Taylor's back catalog of past singles really adds up, keeping her in the mix of top-selling digital artists even in a lackluster year single-wise. |

Seriously some of these swift fans are funny. lol. I guess "The Real Slim Shady" and "Without Me" weren't hits because neither hit #1 on the Hot 100.  It doesnt have to hit #1 on the Hot 100 to be a hit people. IMO Top 20 is a hit. I think most intelligent people would consider Top 20 a hit. Heck some may go up to Top 40 and consider those hit's and i wouldn't argue about that. |

Saying "a top 40 hit" is different than saying "xxx song was a hit". Hell I could say Not Myself Tonight was a hit when we all know it was a flop.

I think a hit isn't really determinable by looking where did it peak, not nowadays anyway. Because most artist debut high due to sales, and then they slowly fall... In my opinion, you have to look at the artist and where he usually peaks and how long he usually charts, I mean, for Taylor Swift, Mine did underperform though for another artist it'd have been the hit of its career, you know? |
