Beth Ditto (singer of The Gossip) teamed up with Simian Mobile Disco for a new, 4-track EP. Some nice 80s and early 90s vibes. I'm LOVING Goodnight Good Morning! The synth/pad (?) along with her vocals in the chorus are so sublime.. Hopefully there will be some great remixes for it. According to NME, it will be released internationally in March.

I love Beth Ditto, I love Simian Mobile Disco and I loved "Cruel Intentions". I'd been really looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint. "Open Heart Surgery" is my favourite. Those synths are just amazing and like you said are really authentically 80s.

I love Beth Ditto, I love Simian Mobile Disco and I loved "Cruel Intentions". I'd been really looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint. "Open Heart Surgery" is my favourite. Those synths are just amazing and like you said are really authentically 80s. I actually didn't think I'd like it that much when I heard the previews, but I'm really liking the songs in full. Yeah, Open Heart Surgery is great too. That, GNGM, and Do You Need Someone are my faves. |
