By "caliber," I imagine that's to mean an act who has such a rabid fanbase. It's kinda a moot point to even ponder that kinda stuff, as plenty of airplay hits that didn't have CD singles would have peaked higher on the Hot 100. I mean, No Doubt's "Don't Speak" and Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" were No. 1 in airplay for 16 weeks and 18 weeks, respectively- the former was not eligible for the Hot 100 and the latter peaked at No. 9 after its airplay peak.
It's safe to say that Spears would have had at least a couple of other No. 1 Hot 100 hits, with CD singles sales in the mix. Just as one could say such-and-such an act could have had more No. 1s, top 10s, etc. etc.
"Womanizer's" video was out when the track hit iTunes? I remember it airing on "20/20" or something, but not sure when that was off-hand.

^ Wmz video premiered on Friday the week Wmz was released. So it aided at least two full days of sales during Wmz's debut week.

well, Womanizer dropped from 1-4 3 dropped from1-5 HIAM dropped from 1-6 A trend? I wouldn't glean too much from that. Notice that each progressive #1 gets #1 by selling more and more copies in the week it hit #1 than the one before it. Also notice that the competition got stiffer and stiffer and each time Britney was still able to debut at #1. When Britney hits 100mm in audience then you may see sales dramatically pick up but by them Gaga will be out so that will be the wild card and Bruno Mars gets crossover action so it's unlikely that Brintey will be able to beat that song out.

Shouldn't Diddy Dirty Money be Top 10 by now? I thought for sure Comin Home would be Top 10.

P!nk needs to sell at a minimum like 75-80K more than Bruno next week to take the top spot. Unless she really pulls ahead on iTunes in the next few days, I think he might hang on to the top spot for another week. Its got a pretty good lead, but I'm not sure if it's 80k. Probably not though. Either way, she still has a shot in the coming weeks as long as her sales stay consistent.

but today is Wednesday. She has the rest of the week to gain even higher. Right now her lead is huge, and with 4 more days to go! She'll do it. She'll be #1 on the hot 100 next week. If not, #2.

I think Lifehouse can pretty much forget about the Hot 100 with All In.

If Pink did hit number one on the Hot 100 next week that would be pretty impressive. What was the last song to leap to number one from outside of the top ten (excluding songs that shot to the top the week sales kicked in)? The last one that comes to mind is Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," which jumped 12-1 in 1992. I think every other instance since then has been a song that jumped to the top after getting its first full week of sales (either physical or digital).

Brandy and Monica's "The Boy Is Mine"jumped from #23 to #1 in June 1998, before airplay only songs were allowed to chart on Hot 100.
I think it'll be the first time A greatest hits can produce 2 #1 hits, right?

I wonder if Pink can manage 2 songs in the top 10 next week. I don't think she's ever done that before.

99 100 08 Bruno Mars, Marry You
It's 8th week on the chart. Impressive for a non-single if anyone asks me.

"The Boy is Mine" jumped 23-1 when the full week of sales kicked in, though- it was street-date violations that propelled it onto the chart a week early.

"The Boy is Mine" jumped 23-1 when the full week of sales kicked in, though- it was street-date violations that propelled it onto the chart a week early. That's what I thought, and I think the same was true with K-CI & Jo-Jo's "All My Life" when it jumped 15-1. That's why I said first full week of sales...I don't think a song has done it under the same conditions as Pink in nearly 20 years. I know that's a lot of qualifiers, but I wanted to highlight how unique an achievement Pink could potentially make next week.

"Records" occur every week if you add enough qualifiers

If P!nk goes to #1 next week she will be the first artist in the entire history of the Hot 100 to jump to #1 from outside the top 10 in February where there has been more than 1 week since the song's release

I never said it was a record. It was just a (potentially) notable achievement. If you prefer, instead of pointing out such situations I will simply cheer on divas and rappers like the majority of posters here.

ALL IN #101 again for a second week! I don't think song will ever chart :(
The Script's 'For The First Time" leaped from #80-#45! Yay!
Linkin Park's "Waiting For The End" climbs to #50 on its 16th week. I hope it reaches the top 40

Renfield is one of the best posters here, and at least he is offering some thoughtful contribution. no need to be a dick 2m.

It would be quite an unusual achievement.
