Possibly may very well be the rock lead single from Until We Have Faces. Has a 60+ bullet on Active currently.

Can't we just keep the other thread? That was for the first single... or maybe I'm on the same thing as Artie.

Yeah...I was just going to change the thread title if we found out for sure this was released instead (i.e. not: "Possibly may very well be" the single).

Well, given it was the most added song at active rock radio with this week with a double-digit add total and "Faceless" got none that I saw, I'm gonna say that this is a pretty safe bet. I have no opinion on the threads, but hey at least we'll already have a thread if "Faceless" becomes a single down the road.

Well, I guess I'll just leave the "Faceless" thread as it is then. Although I know that if it is released yet another thread will be made, and both threads begin with a "Feed the Machine" link in the first post...but I digress.
Feed the Machine >>> Faceless >>>>>>>> Faceless (Radio Edit)

Well, they'd be mad not to release "Faceless" in the future. I find it funny that the "Faceless" thread was originally titled "Feed the Machine", but ok. Dev's threads rock too.

"Faceless" is great, but I'd still place it in the bottom half of the album. In fact I'd rather they release "Lie to Me, Let it Burn, Buried Beneath, Not Alone, or Who We Are" as a second or third single before "Faceless."
And the other thread was called TBA until the official single announcement, I just posted FTM because it was the only song out at the time.

Haha we're disagreeing on their single choices again, Phobes. I remember you loved "Forever"... and I was pissed that they didn't release "Mystery of You". "Faceless" is the best option for Active on the album IMO. Oh ok, I thought it was "Feed the Machine" instead of TBA, but still.

I think this is the right choice. They're famous enough at this point that they need to release something that says "yeah, we may be Christian Rock, but we're not pussies." That's the kinda attitude that attracts the typical FFDP/Godsmack listener I would think.
It's also a better and more interesting song than "Faceless". And to top it off, active rock listeners have already heard "Breathe Into Me", "Let Go", "Already Over", "Death Of Me", and "Forever"....all of which are in the same vein as "Faceless" and all of which did MODERATELY well. They're big enough and established enough that they need a song to wow some people, and "Feed The Machine" is the song capable of impressing active rock listeners on the heavy extreme. They also have some beauties on this album to wow people on the other end. Another advantage of releasing FTM is that it gives them an opportunity to release one of the beautiful tracks while radio listeners have something heavy to remember them by in their recent memory.

This is definitely a good choice for Active.

"Faceless" is the best option for Active on the album IMO. Oh ok, I thought it was "Feed the Machine" instead of TBA, but still. "Forever" was my favorite track from the album, but I didn't think it should have been a single unless it was released third. In fact, despite really enjoying the latter two on the album, I didn't really like any of the singles as singles, if that makes any sense. "Shadows" should've been released instead of "Death of Me," but since that was moderately successful I'll leave it and say that the former would've been the perfect second single. Third I would've been torn between "Mystery of You," "Ordinary World" or "Forever." However, when OW got the nod I was upset since they continued to ignore the obvious hit in "Shadows." Off the top of my head, I can't thing of a bigger "Why the fuck wasn't this released?" song than "Shadows." (In an Active Rock sense, anyway). However, the fact that "Feed the Machine" is getting the push instead of the good but paint-by-numbers "Faceless" is almost redeeming to me. Almost, as I wouldn't be upset if they released a deluxe edition featuring "Shadows" (preferably a revamped version) and released it as the second single, lol.

Off the top of my head, I can't thing of a bigger "Why the f**k wasn't this released?" song than "Shadows." (In an Active Rock sense, anyway). If you only mean by Red, then I agree. Sevendust has made a handful of poor single decisions in which they overlook the song that should have been a top 10 hit on active, for a song that rightfully barely scrapes the top 30. The biggest offense to me was Fair To Midland choosing "Tall Tales Taste Like Sour Grapes" second when they had "Walls Of Jericho" available to follow the success of "Dance Of The Manatee" and then could have continued momentum for "Kyla Cries Cologne" or "The Wife, The Kids, And The White Picket Fence" to also chart as a third single. They've also since waited way too long to release a new album, assuring that most of the "Dance Of The Manatee" buzz has died off. Poorly handled all around, but if they release "Musical Chairs" as the first single off the next album, and they finish the album soon, it's catchy enough that they have a chance. Almost, as I wouldn't be upset if they released a deluxe edition featuring "Shadows" (preferably a revamped version) and released it as the second single, lol. That'd be badass. Although they do have a handful of solid choices on this album. And I agree with what you said earlier that the track that Clint Lowery co-wrote is one of the weaker songs on the album. He's my favorite member of 7D, but I think he's better when he is the lead writer rather than co-penning something, and I also think he does acoustic songs and really heavy songs much better than he does the in-between.

"Tall Tales" wasn't a bad choice for Fair To Midland because it is a good song, but even the band was surprised the label didn't go with "Kyla" or "Wife", which I would've done. Actually, I would've done "Wife" and then "Sahara" for the third single myself, and then "Kyla" for a fourth if it was warranted. "Walls" never really struck me as a single though.

That's funny. The band told me that they were surprised that "Walls" wasn't second when I hung out with them for a bit. Where did you hear about the band thinking it was gonna be "Kyla"?

It was some sort of interview, it was a ways back so maybe I'm mixing memories even. I dunno. I don't hear anything singlelike about "Walls" though. I think it's even less of a single option than "Tall Tales".

Wow, really? Those funky verses don't do it for ya? And the notes the notes he hits in that chorus...UHH!!! Also all of my friends including me who have a Fair To Midland obsession would agree that's our pick (though my favorite song on the album is "Aprill Fools"). However, to me, "Musical Chairs" sounds as much like a hit as ANY song on the last album, so hopefully the album sees the light of day soon, and they choose it or something else just as good as the lead single. It's unfortunate that they'll have a bit more trouble calling it new music seeing as it's been on their myspace for over a year now.

I just don't think it's as powerful a song overall as some of the others, and any song that hits radio has to hit hard. so hopefully the album sees the light of day soon I share that sentiment. I wants it. My pretty pretty precious.

I don't hate people because they listen to music I don't like. The facts are that "Walls of Jericho" should have been single #2 for FTM, and going back to this original thread, "Feed The Machine" is the correct choice for Red's single #1. These facts will not change regardless of what music I, or any other poster on Pulse cognizant of these facts, listen to.

Wait, you're not on the "Feed The Machine" wagon too? This is the first I've read of this, though I guess you didn't become active in this thread until I roused you into action with my Fair To Midland single evaluation.
As you can tell by my weekly alt/rock countdown votes this week, I was completely fine with Red's selection. (I voted it #1 this week for those who don't remember and really don't feel like looking). ;)

Well if we're getting down to brass tacks, then yes, I think "Faceless" should be the first Active single. "Feed The Machine" is a great song, don't get me wrong. It's a brilliant song. And if it's the first single it's a fine choice, but I think that "Faceless" is just... I dunno, a more obvious choice?
I've said on Tunelab that the order of singles I'd want would be like so: Faceless, Not Alone, Lie To Me, Let It Burn, Buried Beneath, Feed The Machine. That's right, six deep. I'd promote the fuck out of this album.

Well knowing their previous success on Christian Rock radio, they very well might get that number of singles; they just wouldn't all be released here, which I'm guessing is what you were hoping for. :/
It's odd that they waited this long to push a single in the first place, but maybe they wanted rock radio to realize the kinda album sales these guys can push and then send the single out. But the fact that a Red single has still yet to officially go for adds at active rock this era makes me think that the label is not making active rock radio a priority this album cycle. While I agree that there are many better ways for a label to spend money to promote a band these days, this album is loaded with potential singles.
