Guess Avril is finished. Shame, the album has a few good tracks. She doesn't have a smash to save her sales for this week and probably next couple weeks. The fate of this era depends on how far WTH can go on airplay when it finishes and the second single. Not depends on next few updates. Wish You Were Here debuted at #99 on Hot without any promo for that song. I believe if she chooses it as the second single, it'll do fine. Otherwise, look like she'll be at #6 on Top 200 this week despite the low number. It's not that bad i think WYWH could do very well on HOT AC, and would just do eh on chr. but i think itd out perform xtina's 2nd single, who had a similar era. WYWH would at least break the top 40 on chr. i really hope avril can at least get to 250k total sales like xtina and miley's flops or else were in big trouble

BTW, what are people's predictions for Chris Brown next week? I think he can hit 200k for sure.

That's not near a full update, though. Given the album's reception, it was bound to happen.

RCA/JIVE HEATS UP: Outgoing head Barry Weiss, who is now ensconsed as head of Island Def Jam and the Universal Motown Republic Group, certainly didn’t leave an empty cupboard. Tomorrow, Jive/ZLG’s Chris Brown and J/RMG’s Jennifer Hudson hit the streets, both expected to debut in the 200k area, with RCA/RMG’s The Strokes also on tap. Then, a week from tomorrow (3/29), Britney Spears’ latest Jive/ZLG album, Femme Fatale, comes out, which is expected to top the chart the following Tuesday. Maybe Barry left a couple of weeks too soon. (3/21p)

I'm content to mostly ignore Chris Brown but the potential for him to get a #1 album is pretty infuriating. Nobody cares? It's harder to find more contrast than the battle for #1 being between a woman who had several members of her family killed by violent criminals and a man who IS a violent criminal. The severity of the crimes are obviously hugely different, but why did everyone forgive him? It boggles my mind and kinda sickens me.

I would imagine it's because the school of criticism that judges the art by the morality of the artist has been looked down upon by most serious critics for quite some time.

Well. Rihanna almost died. So it's not as far from each other as it seems. Both crimes are horrible.

I might agree with you if he was some great artist but... He released a paid chewing gum commercial as a single. His work is pretty uninspired.

Chris will debut on top I think, with Jennifer taking a close second. It's hard to tell...idk. Jennifer has a great week of press coming up and she's always been more of an albums artist anyways. Here's hoping a violent criminal doesn't top the chart next week. stfu.

are people on this board really not able to separate the music from the man? personally, i think "graffiti" was a better album, but i hope he gets a number one album. people in this country don't seem to understand the concept of forgiveness, even of a man who has done his time and made one of the most emotional public apologies of the last decade. also, rihanna herself forgave him. just give it up.

are people on this board really not able to separate the music from the man? A lot of people here and elsewhere judge artists by their personalities and how sweet and nice and "humble" they are over the music. It baffles me, but what can you do. They are actually LESS harsh toward Chris than others though. Men usually are given more of a pass when it comes to this stuff. I am more ok with shaming a woman beater though, to be honest, than raging against someone for saying they don't lip or something.

Every convicted criminal should either be locked in forever or just murdered. America, fuck yeah!
That said, apparently Chris Brown threw a tantrum today. If that's true, I don't think he's stable enough to be inserted back in the society. Let alone be rewarded with millions of dollars.

Chris Brown's publicist=FML. It is sort of hard to sell yourself as a changed man, totally remorseful, and more mature/wise now if you throw a hissy fit and vandalize property when someone asks you a question.

+2 I can't get behind the music of a criminal. Sorry, no. Not to mention the music is s**t anyway, so... So this is the real reason. If, let's say Rihanna did it to Chris would you support her still? Women are being violent towards men as well.

What's wrong with this idiot... Is he going to actaully have to kill someone for people to see why people are offended by hearing him on the runway.
Chris Brown Smashes Window After 'GMA' Interview -- 'Everyone Was Terrified,' Says Insider We may have spoken too soon about Chris Brown's successful recovery after completing his court-ordered domestic violence counseling.
Brown's probation officer may be less than thrilled to hear that Brown let his anger get the best of him during an appearance on 'Good Morning America.' According to TMZ, Brown stormed off set, broke the window in his dressing room and tore his shirt off after reporter Robin Roberts pressed him about his 2009 convicted assault against Rihanna.
But according to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC News is defending Roberts' questioning of the star: "As always, we ask questions that are relevant and newsworthy, and that's what we did in this interview with Mr. Brown," an ABC News spokesperson said.
"A friend at the show tells me everyone was terrified," says PopEater's Naughty But Nice columnist Rob Shuter. "He is meant to perform on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but now ABC news employees are putting pressure on the network to cancel him due to concerns over staff safety."
Just one month ago, Rihanna's restraining order against Brown was lifted, and Brown was even commended at his hearing for his excellent anti-violence program progress. But from his behavior, it looks like Brown may have been doodling instead of listening during class.
TMZ reports that Brown was screaming when he entered his dressing room, which prompted nearby hair and makeup artists to call security.
Soon after, Brown unleashed a right hook -- this time the victim was his dressing room window. Pieces of glass from the shattered window reportedly fell to the sidewalk below. When security finally arrived, shirtless Brown had already left the building.

I agree Chris Brown doesn't deserve a #1 at all.Just Like Kayne doesn't deserve a number one with the E.T Song.
