Sure it has. The Boy Is Mine. Elton John - "Candle in the Wind/Something About the Way You Look Tonight" There are many instances of this happening. Yeah, it's not unusual at all. Also: Flo Rida - Right Round (6wks at #1) Katy Perry - I Kissed a Girl (7wks at #1) Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous (6wks at #1) Daniel Powter - Bad Day (5wks at #1) None of those hit #1 on airplay.

GaGa has a chance for a final week...not sure if Katy's airplay will be compensated enough by sales

The physical Born This Way single cd might be the thing that gets GaGa a 6th week.

Physical CD singles are too small to matter these days, the last significant physical CD sales that had an impact on the chart was High School Musical's "What Time Is It?" where it the physical CD sales helped it debut at #6 (it would still debut big though but the physical cd sales helped it debut higher)

Some artist can still push around 20k which is more than enough to impact the chart.
With things being so tight near the top of the chart, it could easily help GaGa stay #1

Isn't the CD single being sold at Best Buy and Target and the like? The fact that it's so widely available for a CD single and it's Lady Gaga will probably make some difference

I really wish "Jar of Hearts" did better on the Hot 100, especially with airplay.

Yes, the Black Eyed Peas had the number one spot on Billboard for 26 weeks in a row, GaGa has not done that yet, in fact no one has ever but them.

^The country charts are how much it gets played on country stations. Sales don't matter there.
