Incubus was #2. I'm pretty sure FTM would be top 100

Hehe Allmusic rated the 1/5 stars! *headdesk* So it was that bad huh.... I listened to the album today. I'm pretty sure they wrote many of these songs as jokes.

It seems by the reactions around here, the CD would gain somewhere in between one and three stars.

I think they know what their fan base expects. A modern day boy band, without the maturity.

To be honest I find the album midley palatable.
Unlike Hinder/ Saving Able/ Most other cock rock the album "the truth is" seems fairly honest, true they come across as misogenic assholes much the same as HU, but It's more legit then Hinder boasting that they're an "all american nightmare" and certainly more tolerable then saving able's "The sex is good." Sure most of the album wasn't great but "Bitch came back", "The truth is" and "gentlemen" are fairly enjoyable.

Any idea where Fair To Midland and Incubus bowed in? Incubus = #2 with 80440 Sublime With Rome = #9 with 31920 Fair To Midland = not in Top 50 which means they sold less than 8135. :(

Sure most of the album wasn't great but "Bitch came back", "The truth is" and "gentlemen" are fairly enjoyable. - "All-American Nightmare" - Enjoyable, less cock-rock than usual for Hinder
- "The Sex Is Good" - Enjoyable for like 30 seconds, than gets annoying and boring and generic.
- "Bitch Came Back" sucks lyrically and instrumentally (I will admit I've caught myself singing this; probably catchiest thing on the record because of the song it copies)
- "Gentleman" is a very asshole-ish song and sexist and what not. And what's said is that almost every song on the album is in this vein, which leads me to believe that they believe what they say truly.
- "The Truth Is..." No, worst song on the album. Worst song by TOAD. Worst song in music at the moment. Up there with Rebecca Black's "Friday."

At least Friday wasn't offensive and at least made people laugh. This songs makes me wanna slam my head against a brick wall. So its official TOAD have made a worse song than Friday.

Without hearing it yet, this album can't be any trashier than the filthiest of Kiss/Rolling Stones/Aerosmith albums.

I'd also hope for "Hurricane" as the next single. "Bitch Came Back" and "Gentleman" both made me laugh.

Singer discusses with Billboard how divorce shaped the new record: bit.ly/naRoJ0If anyone needed answers to why this album turned out awful, then this paragraph below shines all the light needed. So their early work is lesser than their newer material Tyler ? I think you need to listen again.

But nobody has ever said Deadman was an intellectual band like The Black Keys or Incubus or whomever. They clearly pander to radio and controversy and have been very good at it. The reviews have been mixed, so the album is not decidedly awful in general. Just awful by some of those hear who've bought it. I'm still reserving judgment based on the next 3-8 singles.

Benson's comments are just intelligence-insulting.
He assumes 14-year olds in general are too young to care about lyrics that actually mean something or speak to issues and topics beneath the veneer of cliches and hackneyed tablecloth stereotypes.
Some of the first music I ever listened to was from the Counting Crows. I appreciated their music, primarily, for two things: 1) the direct yet poetic and imagery-driven depth of Duritz's songwriting, brought further life by Duritz's emotive vocals and 2) their rich musicianship. I also loved the Wallflowers for much the same reason. They were the first two bands I'd confirm I listened to religiously before discovering music in the broader sense...............and I was twelve when I started doing so.
No, this isn't music for 14-year olds. This is music for recalcitrant adults who their 14-year old children are often embarrassed of.

They're racing the Chili Peppers to the top. Staind won't get there in time. If T.O.A.D. gets to the top, I think it'll only be a week before the Chili Peppers wrestle it away from them for good. And then the question will be if Staind can get some time in at the top or will RHCP hog it. The Chili Peppers have never been as dominant on active rock as on alternative obviously, which leads me to believe that "Not Again" will be a multi-week #1 soon enough.

The last two Peppers lead singles made it to #1. Staind have had a #1 from three straight albums. I think Mainstream Rock Tracks will find a way to make room for both.

Barring a late afternoon change, this will be #1 on Active airplay. I wouldn't be surprised if they net the Mediabase #1 this week, but miss out this week on Billboard to Avenged Sevenfold. There's still a relatively comfortable padding between Theory of a Deadman and both the Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the moment, so if they miss out this week, Roadrunner is really going to aggressively push for the #1 this coming week. Then we can expect a contentious chart battle between the Foo Fighters and the Chili Peppers. Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

Cool. Awesome. Terrific. Above Average. Okay. Meh. Fuck. Gross. Disgusting. Undeserving Piece of Crap. Well, at least, better than "Sick" getting to #1 officially a couple of weeks ago.
