So who's next for Riri to pass, Whitney and Madonna? MJ is up there too.

B!tch I don't need to get a grip, for what? I wasn't even talking to you. You all up in my sh!t. Slinging names now, pressed boy? You don't have to address me personally for me to respond. You're crapping on Rih Rih and Brit Brit's shiney ceramic plate that Mariah wants to throw. LOL!! Yeah, pressed. Let's not forget you're slinged that one first. B!tch, you're the one addressing me personally to begin with. And don't worry about Mariah wanting to throw plates when you got Madonna shitting in her diaper cause Ri's aiming for her next...Ri has ways to go before Mariah burns her mansion down. So please...

And for the record, I don't have a problem with Rihanna having 10 or more #1 hits. More power to her if that happens. I'm just not crazy about the tactic she used to get this particular one.
Oh well.

Why is anyone going on about what the No. 1s means and such? Mimi Carey isn't anywhere near the level of reverence or importance enjoyed by The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Madonna, etc., after all. Says who? Biased critics? Not here for them. Mariah is an icon and will be a legend, like it or not. Maybe not on par with The Beatles and Elvis, but she has to be herself not a copy of someone else.

I just hope another #1 comes fast. I don't want another 3 or 4 weeks of ET.
I'd really like if Adele made it.

^No bias- and it's not just critics, but music industry in general. Plus, it's just The Beatle, Elvis, Mr. Jackson, Madonna, etc. but other acts like Elton John, Stevie Wonder- all of those who have had large success, as well. But I agree that she doesn't have to be anywhere near theirt acclaim levels- she's obviously one of the most successful female acts of all time and she obviously enjoys that plenty, as do the mega-lambs.

A lot of artists are probably going to start racking up a bunch of #1s now if Billboard is going to credit artists who are on the remix. I can imagine some rappers racking up 10 #1s in a couple of years by jumping on remixes. It's worse than that. This will set a bad precedent if every diva who thinks her song won't make it to #1 now enlists some other popular diva or rapper to ensure that it does. Whatever happened to just releasing the song and letting it sink or swim on the charts based on its popularity alone? If it made it to #1; great, if it only made it to 50; oh well, better luck next time. All out the window it this "trend" catches on now. Well remixes featuring other artists are nothing new but this is setting a precedent that if you just jump on a remix you can be credited with a #1 hit even if you're only on the remix which came out long after the original.

Having first reigned atop the Hot 100 the week of May 13, 2006, with "SOS," Rihanna logs the shortest span between a solo artist's first and 10th No. 1s in the chart's 52-year history, a stretch of four years, 11 months and two weeks. (This week's charts are dated Apr. 30, 2011). Rihanna bests the five-year, four-month span between current Island Def Jam labelmate Mariah Carey's first ("Vision of Love," Aug. 4, 1990) and 10th ("One Sweet Day," Dec. 2, 1995) toppers to complete the quickest sprint to 10 Hot 100 No. 1s among solo artists. (Carey collected the first 15 of her 18 career No. 1s while signed to Columbia Records). Among all acts, Rihanna trails only the Beatles (one year, eight months and one week) and the Supremes (two years, eight months and three weeks) for the fastest accumulation of 10 Hot 100 No. 1s. Rihanna is additionally the youngest artist to notch 10 No. 1s in the Hot 100's archives. At 23 years, two months and one week, Rihanna (born Feb. 20, 1988) eclipses the mark established by Carey, who was 25 years, eight months and one week old when she tallied her 10th Hot 100 leader. Rihanna is just the ninth artist to total at least 10 Hot 100 No. 1s and the fifth solo female, following Carey (18), Madonna (12), Whitney Houston (11) and Janet Jackson (10). (The Beatles lead all acts with 20 career No. 1s; Michael Jackson has the most (13) among solo males. In addition to the Supremes (12), Stevie Wonder (10) is the other act with at least 10 Hot 100 leaders). "S&M" ascends to the Hot 100's summit fueled by the first full week of digital sales for the song's "Rih-mix" featuring Britney Spears. All versions of the song, which claims the Hot 100's Digital Gainer award and becomes Rihanna's record-extending 10th No. 1 on Digital Songs, sold a combined 293,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan, a 108% increase over last week. The Spears-assisted version of the track accounted for 66% of the song's overall weekly digital sum. "S&M" spends a third week at No. 1 on Radio Songs (124 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS). Now listed as featured artist on "S&M," Spears earns her fifth Hot 100 No. 1 and second this year, following her own "Hold It Against Me" in January. She had previously reigned with her debut single "...Baby One More Time" in 1999 and returned to the summit with "Womanizer" (2008) and "3" (2009). "S&M" displaces Katy Perry's "E.T.," featuring Kanye West (No. 2), after three weeks atop the Hot 100. Although the song's airplay continues to build, as it spends a second week at No. 2 on Radio Songs (122 million in audience, up 13%), securing the Hot 100's Airplay Gainer nod, its digital sales decline by 12% to 284,000. The Hot 100's highest debut belongs to Lady Gaga, whose "Judas," the heavily-anticipated second single from "Born This Way" (due May 23), soars in at No. 10. After being serviced to radio and released to iTunes Friday afternoon (Apr. 15), "Judas" charges onto Digital Songs at No. 4 with 162,000 downloads sold. By comparison, "Born This Way" began with sales of 448,000 on the Digital Songs chart dated Feb. 26. "Born" was similarly posted to iTunes on a Friday (Feb. 11), although it arrived at the retailer in the early morning (ET), whereas "Judas" hit the online store early Friday afternoon. (The SoundScan tracking week ends at the close of business each Sunday night). On Radio Songs, "Judas" starts at No. 48 with 26 million in audience. ("Born" launched at No. 6 on Radio Songs with 78.5 million in audience, both a record debut rank and first-week audience sum since the chart began incorporating all radio formats in December 1998). Benefitting from the buzz of being an album's lead single, "Born" became just the 19th song to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100. Still, the No. 10 start for "Judas" marks Lady Gaga's third-highest entrance; "Bad Romance" -- the lead track from her "The Fame Monster" EP -- debuted at No. 9 in November 2009. Following its first full week at retail and radio, "Judas" could vault to the upper reaches of next week's Hot 100. Rounding out the rest of this week's top 10 on the Hot 100, the Black Eyed Peas' "Just Can't Get Enough" holds at No. 3, followed by Jeremih's "Down on Me," featuring 50 Cent (6-4), Cee Lo Green's "F**k You (Forget You)" (4-5), Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" (10-6), Chris Brown's "Look at Me Now," featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes (7-7), Jennifer Lopez's "On the Floor," featuring Pitbull (9-8), and Britney Spears' "Till the World Ends" (8-9). All charts, including the Hot 100, Digital Songs and Radio Songs, will be refreshed tomorrow on Billboard.com.

As of now, it's safe to say that neither RiRi or her "remix" collaborator are strong contenders for the Hall of Fame. But, RiRi has some 19 years or so to up her game, if she chooses. RiRi should have no trouble passing several more on the ladder up the Most Hot 100 No. 1s list.

If RihRih gets another #1 during this era, I wish we get a #1's album real soon! That would be so iconic!

Rihanna, the queen of IDJ! They really adore her there and she'd be a fool to leave when her contract is up.
I still believe she'll get one or two more before the year is up. Imagine how crazy it'll get in here then!

I don't understand where the hate comes from, but oh well... I suppose I just adore both Mimi and Rihanna, in very different ways, and being so secure about what Mariah's music means to me I actually enjoy RihRih's domination. It's just charts and numbers anyway... just a silly game we happen to truly enjoy.

Her and IDJ are making great decisions, so congratulations to them on their part. I don't think she's the greatest singer, but I know a lot of people do so to each it's own, and there are qualities about her that I do enjoy though, so I have no problem with her racking up all these #1 hits.
She's making the charts more interesting.

At least the charts are interesting again and people are coming for the record holders again.
The mid-2000s were rather boring in that respect.

So funny how the 'diva-loving' chart watchers always get so emotional, competitive and angry. None of my rock chart-watcher friends EVER get this frazzled.

Careful with the Katy cool-aid lets not get carried away. Rihanna has 4 #1 on the Hot 100 in the same era and her album has sold more than Katy's. Katy has had higher airplay, more weeks at #1, and LTWYL doesnt count ( and her tour is actually selling) Hell Firework s**ts on all Rihannas singles this era (chart-wise) In your dreams and LTWYL does count as a #1 for Rihanna whether you like it or not.. My point is that Katy is not doing anything that different than Rihanna. BTW Rihanna has the most radio spins of any artist this year.

I too think getting this #1 wasn't done so fairly, but she can have all the #1s she wants as long as Mariah has more. a legend is a legend (even though I doubt Mariah could get any more #1s...)

Having the most #1 hits isn't what makes you a legend. At least not beyond the pop charts anyway. It goes a bit deeper than that.

No such thing. It's all fair. Other artists could do the same things to get their song to #1. At the end of the day people have to buy the record. Every artists and record company can do their best to get to #1. There is no shame in that.
