So lets say next year Rihanna gets to 20 1#s...What does that mean then? Is she bigger than Mariah?

If TTWE goes #1 from the Rihanna remix, she will have 4 #1s in a row, and Rihanna will have 6!! Lol, and she'll have 11 #1's Mimi fans will kill themselves Did Rihanna break Mariah's female record of 18th #1's already? And how would Rihanna have 6 in a row? What about "Who's that girl" and "Rock Star"?

If TTWE goes #1 from the Rihanna remix, she will have 4 #1s in a row, and Rihanna will have 6!! You're forgetting about Who's That Chick which broke her streak. Rih's longest #1 streak is 3 I believe, with WMN, OG and LTWYL. >:( Whatever atleast Britneys streak isn't broken yet hopefully

Oh please like if she has nothing else going. The last thing on her mind right now is the charts and Rihanna. Us fans however....when I get home all hell is going to break loose. You're the one who seems pressed on this. Get a grip! Umm duh. I'm not denying it honey.

So lets say next year Rihanna gets to 20 1#s...What does that mean then? Is she bigger than Mariah? It means she would have more #1's than Mariah. Stop getting so bent out of shape.

On a related note, Billboard has not yet decided if Spears will be removed from the credits when the original overtakes it in points. That's why she shouldn't have been credited this week imo.. because it is uncertain which one will be the defining version in the future.

Why is anyone going on about what the No. 1s means and such? Mimi Carey isn't anywhere near the level of reverence or importance enjoyed by The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Madonna, etc., after all. So if RiRi keeps racking up the No. 1s, it won't in any way boost her level of reverence, either.
For the 238th time, the charts/big commercial success and artistic reputation/importance are not related. Some have both, some do not.
And, ya, peigan, the "featuring" trend has been out of hand for some time now. It's also what has helped acts like Lil' Wayne and other rappers/hip-hop acts achieve their high number of Hot 100 entries.

A lot of artists are probably going to start racking up a bunch of #1s now if Billboard is going to credit artists who are on the remix. I can imagine some rappers racking up 10 #1s in a couple of years by jumping on remixes.

^But, a number of those would not have the rabid fanbase that would snap up the "remixes" like mega-fans of Rihanna and Spears.

But we can at least attest that Rihanna does not enjoy the reverence or importance enjoyed by Mariah, either.

Indeed- great for Adele. Possible top 5?
And, agreed, Push the Button. :) She's had one single("Umbrella") that racked up more acclaim than any Mimi single to date, though, but on the whole, nah.

I can imagine some rappers racking up 10 #1s in a couple of years by jumping on remixes. That's assuming that they get credit. Britney likely got credit b/c of something that the label's worked out amongst themselves. It's just like how Flo Rida's label had decided to remove Ke$ha as a feature and Billboard obliged.

This is a forum on this weeks BBHot100, not a name-calling forum, so please stop.
Anyways, 10 number ones for Rihanna and a fifth for Britney is amazing. Unfortunately, I'm thinking a consecutive fourth is unlikely with California King Bed but with Rihanna, you never know :)

I can imagine some rappers racking up 10 #1s in a couple of years by jumping on remixes. It's worse than that. This will set a bad precedent if every diva who thinks her song won't make it to #1 now enlists some other popular diva or rapper to ensure that it does. Whatever happened to just releasing the song and letting it sink or swim on the charts based on its popularity alone? If it made it to #1; great, if it only made it to 50; oh well, better luck next time. All out the window it this "trend" catches on now.
