It's hard to believe. Katy has been having this great weeks at #1, with huge leads over the other contenders, and now Rihanna manages to sneak in with barely a 10k difference thanks to a rushed remix that's almost out of itunes top 10 by now. Makes you wonder why some people still won't give her credit for all these numerous one-week #1's.
I don't see why people are surprised. Use logic...the song would not have hit #1 this week without Britney. In addition, she also has sold more with the remix than the original. The airplay couldn't get it to #1 but the sales could...which were drastically increased with the remix.

I don't know if this was asked already, but does Britney get credit for S&M's airplay this week? I'm only asking since it would be interesting to see the same song having different artist/s on the two charts. If so, it would also be the first time I believe
I don't think I make any sense, so I mean like this

Some #s:
Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull, On the Floor (125,000 weekly, +4%, 1.234 million total) Jason Aldean/Kelly Clarkson, Don't You Wanna Stay (59,000, +64%, 1.092 million) Rihanna, California King Bed (22,000, +231%, 51,000) Jennifer Hudson, Where You At (7,000, -15%, 93,000) Mandisa, Stronger (6,000, +10%, 12,000) Carrie Underwood, Undo It (5,000, -38%, 1.063 million)
Surely Katy has got the record for most consecutive weeks in the Top10. I remember her being very close recently.
49 weeks in the top 10 (including this week), breaking the previous record of 48 consecutive weeks by Abba. And it doesn't seem like ET is slowing down anytime soon, so if she doesn't release another single I think she'd top out at around 60.
It's also what has helped acts like Lil' Wayne and other rappers/hip-hop acts achieve their high number of Hot 100 entries.
Lil Wayne is featured on two songs that enter this week's Hot 100: Kelly Rowland's "Motivation," which opens at #55, and The Game's "Red Nation," which bows at #62. The rapper is also featured on two other hits that were already listed on the chart: Chris Brown's "Look At Me Now," which holds at #7, and Mike Posner's "Bow Chicka Wow Wow," which jumps to #40. In addition, he is the lead artist on two current Hot 100 hits: "6 Foot 7 Foot," which dips to #33, and "John," which drops to #65.

ABBA? That can't be right. They never had back to back Top 10s in the US. Do you mean Ace of Base maybe? ATSW, TS & DTA were in Top 10 for a long time.
Hopefully Ace Of Base stopped making music I Hope for Rihanna the same...
But i have more bad news 50 Cent's in his first single is collaborating with Eminem and guess who? Rihanna of course! She's funny (and her company of course). That's all i can say Does she says "no" to someone or something? I guess No
Slinging names now, pressed boy? You don't have to address me personally for me to respond. You're crapping on Rih Rih and Brit Brit's shiney ceramic plate that Mariah wants to throw. LOL!!
Yeah, pressed. Let's not forget you're slinged that one first. B!tch, you're the one addressing me personally to begin with. And don't worry about Mariah wanting to throw plates when you got Madonna s**tting in her diaper cause Ri's aiming for her next...Ri has ways to go before Mariah burns her mansion down. So please...
Oh phlease.
What #1's even mean? It's not #1's thaht made Madonna, Michael and Mariah legends. Rihanna's last three number ones reached #1 using all kind of tactics (lowering prices, releasing on monday, adding britney to track) and they all spend 1 week at #1.
How many #1 albums does she have? All her albums sold as much as TEOM
What I want to see is if Gaga can go over 300,000 next week, or even 250,000. That is just as exciting about who is #1 on the Hot 100 next week. I'm not sure why some monsters think she will be #1 next week on the Hot 100?
No. Judas isn't being sent to radio til next Tuesday (unless it changed too?) and she isnt preforming it live on tv until May.

Tricks? It's called marketing! Guess what everyone else in the recording industry does it as well.
“Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law -- for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.”
^since when is releasing on Monday a trick? LOL besides OG would have been #1 anyway.
It's not a trick but releasing on Monday is not common. When Mariah released TMB on Monday everyone here was criticiznig her. OG would not hit #1 without discount. Even with lowering the prioce the race for #1 was tight.

Demand is inelastic in the .99 - 1.5 range...people who were going to buy were going to buy anyway. You can't prove that OG wouldn't have went to #1 anyway.
IMHO, it was just luck that it got to #1 because other songs were falling all around it.
