Bought it! It's such a fantastic tune. Pure Country roots with a crossover appeal to Country-Rock. I just want to see Kellie do really well with this debut single! :)
She deserves it so much. Hopefully a CMA Awards performance will come here way in November!

Why is there no advertisement on the iTunes Country page?

Why is there no advertisement on the iTunes Country page? I'm sure there will be one soon. For it to get to #45 on the Top 200 of Country already with absolutely no promotion anywhere on the entire iTunes store is impressive, IMO.

Kellie confirmed on GAC On The Streets that they will be shooting a music video for Tough!

It's definitely moving! :) Very pleased with its run thus far. Hopefully she'll have some sort of way to promote this. Maybe she should go on Ellen soon to get the song out there, because it won't be able to chart successfully without any televised or news-breaking notice.

Agreed, and she is by far the most entertaining guest on Ellen. Her and Ellen always make for some hilarious stuff whenever she's on... the Halloween show is still so classic. She has mentioned that a music video for this is in the works, so I imagine that promo will probably be stepped up soon. But without it, it seems to be doing quite well on its own so far!

I think I've only heard this song once on the radio. Such a shame too. I live about 20-30 minutes away from where Kellie is from. I figured local radio would be all over a new Kellie single. Hopefully that changes!

Hopefully that changes! If you are talking about Charlotte radio, Im in the area too. Both stations are always slow to jump on a new song, it doesn't matter if the artist is from our area. Its opposite in Raleigh where they give their local talent (Scotty, Jason Michael Carrol) tons of spins no matter how new the song is. I remember when Jimmy Wayne came onto the scene it took Charlotte many months to add "Stay Gone" and hes from a town 5 minutes from there. Some markets care about local talent and some do not. Charlotte does not. I have heard Kellie's "Tough" once on WKKT and I hear Scotty every now and then. They barely even promoted him when he was on Idol, when Raleigh temporarily named their station after him. Same when Kellie was on Idol. I think the morning shows here talked more about her "Calamari" comment on the show than any of her songs...WSOC added the song today on Mediabase and WKKT added it a couple weeks ago. They are just slow to start spinning it.

I love Kellie, I am glad the song is doing well. She had a great jump and I am happy for her, but I am wondering about the song feedback? I wonder if the listeners are liking it, I hope they are. I'd love Kellie to do well with this album.

Just gotta say that this sounds flawless on the radio. Heard it last night. :) After the spin was over, the DJ said this: "That was the new song, Tough, by Kellie Pickler. Sure-fire Top 5 material, has she ever gotten one yet? Dang!" Made me smile a bit.

This sold 12,000 downloads its first week.. not bad considering no major tv promos been provided. My bet is sales will pick up as this song continues to climb up the chart and more and more people hear it..

Yup this is Top 40 already! This has gotta be her fastest climb into the Top 40? Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You took 5 weeks to reach the top 40. Best Days Of Your Life took 9 weeks. Things That Never Cross... took 6. Don't You Know... took 7. I Wonder took 5 and there was another one that did it in 5 weeks too. Did I miss a couple? The fastest climber to the top 40 does seem to be Tough, but I think that's a little misleading. Kellie got to #41 in 3 weeks with Red High Heels, but that one was forced to hold at #41 the next week and didn't crack the 40 until week 5. Whereas Tough had better timing and benefited from 5 songs going recurrent this week. No matter -- I think this is her best song and has a great chance to be her best chart run yet. More than you wanted to know about top 40 climbs.

Stalling at #40. It's so ridiculous that radio never gives her a chance.

Stalling at #40. It's so ridiculous that radio never gives her a chance. It will build. It still got a bullet and it won the Country AirPlay Bullet Gain for the week, so it's definitely still getting picked up. :)

Stalling at #40. It's so ridiculous that radio never gives her a chance. I don't think this one is stalling yet, but I also personally think she has done extremely well as far as Country radio goes. For me she doesn't do much at all besides "Best Days of Your Life", which was rewarded with a Top 10 peak, so the fact that anything else has ever even got Top 20 shows that radio is behind her.

Tough spent a second week at #40 because of chart competition, as if still made an increase. Its not stalling, but its not going to move up very fast.

Yeah its too early to make such a conclusion on a song this young. Kellie isn't an artist who flies up the chart, she maybe gets 2 singles in per year with climb time.
