Tragic. Never thought I'd see the day where a JLO dance track would wipe the 'floor' with a Beyonce dance track. Well, that's if you can even call that dance. I really don't know what it is. Err, how the hell can RTW even be considered a dance track? That would be "Sweet Dreams". You are just a mess. Apparently to you gay themes and religious themes are the same thing, and dance songs aren't dance songs if they.....are.... dance songs? A1 MESS

What exactly is the Fearless backlash, some people online saying "ew her performanse suck'd ass the Grammyz are like such a joke why did Justin Bieber lose Beliebers 4 lifez ugh"?
Also I hope that Adele doesn't block Brit from having a 2nd single in a row reaching her highest radio peak...

I see Adele's album going the way of The Diary of Alicia Keys. Acclaimed sophomore smash from a BNA winner that gets a load of Grammy nominations and wins several genre ones, but misses out on the top prize.

Gaga is mentoring on Idol Wednesday and Oprah airs on Thursday. "Judas" isn't being performed on either show, so I think we can lay this single to rest. I see Jimmy wont be stopping the promo for Interscope artists.

Odd that Steph G. would be mentoring this week, and then perform on the finale- but, that coincides with the album release week, so...

She's just sitting beside Jimmy as the contestants come in, like what will.i.am and Miley Cyrus did. She will introduce a clip of the "Judas" video on the show Wednesday, though, with the full premiere on E! on Thursday. Confirmation?

with you, nothing JLo does would be a victory. Once it started getting airplay you said it wouldn't chart on the Hot 100 airplay, then you said it wouldn't go top 40, then top 20... American Idol promo isn't really important WW, where it has been even bigger. Pitbull isn't hot enough to make the song a hit ('Fresh Out The Oven'). This. First, he was doubt OTF would hit top 40 airplay because she's 40. After it hit top 40 airplay, he said it's because of Idol effect and he's doubt it would hit top 10 airplay. After it hit top 10 airplay, he said it's because of Pitbull. Why doesn't Holidayguy just accept the fact that a 40 yo female artist like J.Lo can still score a big airplay hit (with a featured artist or not)? At least, just appreciate her. This is her comeback we've been waiting for so long.

Even if Gaga is not performing Judas on Idol this week, her team is hyping up the $10 million budget for the video.

JLO needs to have a really good song to score a hit all by herself. Feature hits I'm Real Ain't It Funny I'm Gonna Be Alright Jenny From The Block All I Have Control Myself Get Right On The Floor Solo hits If You Had My Love Waiting For Tonight Love Don't Cost A Thing Every other solo single she has released underperformed - FSG, Play, I'm Glad, and others, but her first two solo singles remain to be her most memorable imo "Get Right" was a solo hit. Fabolous was only on the remix and was never credited on the Hot 100. and "Feelin' So Good" wasn't a solo hit since it featured Big Pun & Fat Joe. I get your point, though. I honestly can't see her releasing a non-collaboration anytime soon.

not only does adele deserve at least 1 week at #1 w/ RITD (which I think at some point she may squeak out) that song REEKS from winning multiple grammies. its head to toe what they usually vote for.

Who's "we"? I don't thin k everyone has been clamoring for a Jennifer Lopez comeback- she's hardly an act that people wait in anticipation, expecting a fantastic piece of work. Fun, throwaway- yeah, she delivers in that regard.
One cannot look at outside the USA as a measure of U.S. reception- other countries are not ageist like the USA- why someone like Madonna can reach No. 2 in UK airplay with a very mediocre track like "Celebration." And look how huge "Hung Up" was worldwide, while "only" peaking at No. 7 in the USA (and No. 42 airplay).
So, you're right, Idol probably didn't have much of an effect in the worldwide success of "On the Floor.' Did it play a part in the U.S. success? Most likely. As did Pitbull. *BTW- that "Fresh..." track wasn't even promoted, outside filming a video, correct? Plus, it was "Lola," not Jennifer Lopez. :) Like I said, we will see how a solo Lopez track fares at U.S. radio.
And, RE Spears and "Toxic"- how many times does one have to report that it did NOT reach 90m BDS audience? It peaked in the vicinity of 75m-80m. That is a fact. Mediabase may have been another story, when Mediabase totals were notably higher than BDS- but on BDS, no sir.

What HolidayGuy says is absolutely true. Acts - particularly females - over 35 have struggled at CHR for years. I grew up in an era when acts over 40 (Phil Collins, Steve Winwood, Diana Ross) could whistle and they would have a monster hit. Then came the 1990s.
Overly-researched radio playlists, a shift in Top 40 demos and the "cool factor" of the grunge / gangsta rap era changed the way radio programmers looked at hit radio. That bled over into their decisions to push 'the divas'.
People keep mentioning Cher's "Believ"e. That was a one off, very left field hit that even at the time was considered unusual. It didn't exactly help Donna Summer, Tina Turner or Cher herself after they re-used the Believe template the following year.
Sales have driven Madonna's last few hits to the top 10. The songs had no real lasting impact on the top 40 landscape.
I think Gwen MAY be okay for her next album because of her youthful looks, attitude and fashion sense. JLo had a moribund radio career for nine years until weekly exposure on American Idol presented her as 'current' and still looking amazingly young.
We'll see where Mariah lands after this very domestic period of her life.

Holy crap at Katy on that list! All top 4!
As for the J.Lo/over 40 stuff, I don't understand why people are arguing with HolidayGuy here -- if anything, what he's pointing out is making J.Lo's feat all the more remarkable and praiseworthy!
And, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there's only been 3 women who have had a #1 single in their 40s or older: Tina Turner, Cher, and Madonna. So, it's not exactly a stretch to say that it's hard for a woman over 40 to do well on the charts.

But have there been any males over 40 either since let's say 2000?
Granted, it must be harder to female artists but not easy for men either.
