I just really don't understand the reasoning for not releasing a DVD. It's not like it won't sell. It's Carrie Underwood. They could release it as a special combo with her next album when it comes out (hopefully later this year) or something, and it would sell like crazy.
And they obviously have the footage. If they're worried about release forms and such, they could easily just not show faces in the crowd. If there's footage of her rehearsals for the tour, the tour itself, and/or any backstage stuff, that would make the DVD a true collectors item and it would definitely be in high demand.

I wouldn't be surprised if Carrie does release a DVD eventually but just doesn't feel "ready" yet. It's like how people have been hoping she'd promote herself a little more internationally and it's finally just happening in 2011. Look how long it's taken her to dip her toe into acting. She can be really, really tentative sometimes.

Yeah, who knows, maybe her next tour will be even more spectacular and they'll make a DVD of that. I just hope we get one sometime in the somewhat near future. :)

^^ I think Carrie is growing each tour. As big as the 'Play On' tour was, I think Carrie's draw power will continue to increase because the buying public is getting more exposure to Carrie's great strengths as a live performer and vocalist. High-profile events like the recent performances with Steven Tyler and with Vince Gil, which went viral only will increase her fanbase, IMO.
I agree with those folks before me who believe the black & white video of 'Undo It' >>> the released video. I think it is ridiculous just how long Carrie's team has taken to start promoting her internationally and in still releasing her first live DVD.

She can be really, really tentative sometimes. Very true. I like that about Carrie, though. I like that she doesn't simply release things like crazy, hoping something becomes popular. Instead, she thinks things through while attempting to create her own "brand." Carrie's very, very smart, and I thoroughly appreciate her "confident-yet-hesitant" approach.

I like her being "tentative" with her career (very smart moves especially with acting imo)..... but I just find it hard to understand what is it that is holding her (or her team) back from releasing a tour DVD....

The "Undo It" tour video is so hot, I still don't understand why they spent extra money to shoot a live video when they had such a great one in the can. Live videos are boring and just make artists look lazy IMO. The UI video was the first Carrie video I haven't bought off iTunes since "So Small," but I definitely would have purchased the version just posted.

Wow at that "Undo It" video! I've seen it so many times in the tour videos and twice in person, but seeing only that makes it seem like it's the video, and it very well could have been. I believe the reason Carie's team used the live video mainly was due to Carrie headlining a major tour at the time, to sort of promote the tour through a music video? Just a wild guess.
And the Randy/Carrie duet sounds perfect as expected. Love Carrie singing traditional country. Hope it won't be album only on iTunes (I'm expecting it to be...)

Maybe they'll do a DVD for the next tour. She's finally going international in June, so that will do wonders for her in the next tour. It'll give her much more of an opportunity to showcase to the world that she's capable of handling her own big set and proving her powerhouse vocals every time. They could've done it with the PO Tour because it was on such a high level, but a worldwide tour DVD could help more because it shows to the general audience that she's an international star, rather than just a domestic one. Maybe that makes more sense in my head, but whatever.

WOW and holy HD at that concert vid! I want a tour DVD now!! Will a pledge work? I solemnly promise to buy 100 copies of the Play On tour DVD. Here's Brad talking to Lon Helton about "Remind Me" for Country Countdown USA. LOL at Brad recalling his phone conversation with Carrie and singing the verse that way to her

This vid is just begging to be made into tons of gifs. Seriously. Why wasn't this the official video?

Maybe because some would complain about it being black & white. People will always complain. I doubt labels care that much.

Well, I've always got R&B vibes from 'You Won't Find This'. Especially in the intro and Carrie's delivery. I've never been a big fan of Ne-Yo's. It's still interesting to hear that they had been considering a duet, though. Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. It was never one of my favorites. I'm glad that Carrie is expanding her horizons and getting out of her comfort zone a little. I like when artists take risks.

'You Won't Find This' has always been one of my favorites from Carrie. And, just to clarify, the Ne-Yo duet was for Play On, not this upcoming era. Speaking of the fourth album, we should be getting a ton of new titles registered over at BMI any day now.

Maybe because some would complain about it being black & white. I don't know but i love it. The "Wasted" video was in black and white, and reception for that video was fine. ??? Regardless, this video >>>> the actual video, but the actual video is still good, especially for a live/tour music video. This video was just so fiery and hot, though, which is something Carrie could've used after the innocence of the "Temporary Home" video. Oh, well.

Word is that the director and producer of the Undo It video asked the uploader to remove it cuz Carrie's team was not pleased cuz apparently they are planning to release a DVD in the future...

No, the DVD thing is just one of the examples thrown out by the director to explain why he was in trouble for that video leak. He has no idea what plans the label has for this Undo It video, if there are any at all.

I swear, Carrie's label is not very smart sometimes. Once something is up on the internet, it's up there forever. If they didn't want those videos getting out, they shouldn't have given the okay to the director to put them up on his website. From what I can see, he didn't do anything against their wishes, so he shouldn't be the one getting in trouble. The label themselves should.

I have a feeling with the mini tour in Australia, they are not done using the video yet in her concert. The director may have thought since the PO american tour was done, the vid was fair game.

Concerning songs on iTunes being "album only", such as "Remind Me", are they usually kept "album only", or are they ever taken off that and sold individually?
I know some of Carrie's songs that she's done for other projects (like "Ever Ever After" - Enchanted Soundtrack) was "album" only right when it was released and is "album only" to this day. Hopefully, as many have stated, that won't be the case for "Remind Me". Especially considering it is Brad's next single.
So if anyone has some past examples of "album only" tracks changing to individual sale, (especially songs that became singles), recounts of that would be great to hear. Thanks!

EEA was never a single. Since RM is the current single and its official adds date is this week, I'm going to take a wild guess that the song will be released as a separate single copy so it can chart on its own. :)

I'm looking at timelines of Carrie's previous albums to see when we can expect an announcement if Carrie will indeed release an album this year. For Carnival Ride's October 23, 2007 release, the announcement was made on July 16. For Play On's November 3, 2009 release, the announcement was made on August 31. Can anyone check or does anyone know when we started finding the bulk of the new songs being registered with BMI, ASCAP, etc. for Play On?

45th Annual Country Music Awards air November 9th. I'm really feeling a November 1st album release, right about now.
And, not that it matters, but 'Loved By You' is giving me serious lead single vibes. Sal Oliveri's tweet about producing the demo in March, the random CFans user knowing the title before anyone else, and it being the only song written for the upcoming album currently registered over at Songfile (excluding the Narnia rejects). Reminds me of back when 'Cowboy Casanova' was being singled out. Just an observation.
