i just realizde too, that lauren must also probbaly appreciate that carrie actually put some thought in choosing the "personal idol's song choice" and it resulted into one of her best performanecs of the season. lauren should also take it as a compliment that the song was one that carrie wanted to sing herself as well. i dunno if it can get any better than that. compared to george strait who probably just randomly chose a song from his own catalog so he could also get himself thrown some penny roaylties as well.
i think if lauren reaches out to carrie i dont see why carrie will not take her under her wing. carrie has said that david cook was the one who reached out to her to ask for advice and they ended up being very good freidns.

Another Lauren interview...nice Carrie mentions. Did you get to meet or talk with any of the celebrities on the show last night?I met them all. Just being able to sing with Carrie Underwood set off the whole night. She's amazing. Did you pick Before He Cheats? No, I think Carrie picked it. Once you stepped in front of the camera, you inadvertently became a role model, and you're a great one. Who are a few of your role models?I'm a huge country music fan. There are so many girls I look up to, especially Carrie Underwood. Everyone knows. I've shouted that one out for a while now. Talking with her, I could tell she genuinely cared that I was there. After we went to a party last night for all the contestants on the show, she invited me back to her area and let me sit with her and talk with her. It was amazing to see that someone I had looked up to for so long was actually the person I thought she was. I want little girls and girls my age to feel that way about me when they meet me, to know that I'm actually the way I'm portrayed on TV. I'm not fake, and I don't want to mislead people as to who I am. I pull jokes a lot, but I can be serious, too. I cry a lot, and everyone knows that. It's just who I am. I plan on not changing who I am for anything. I just want to stay true to who I am and have my little country roots. Let it be available for little girls to look up to me. I've always looked up to Carrie. That would be the greatest thing in the world, for a little girl to look up to me like I look up to her. content.usatoday.com/communities/idolchatter/post/2011/05/lauren-alaina-exit-interview/1

^Hahaha! That interview was hilarious! I wonder what that voice on the other line said to her! Hahaha!
And about the Lauren Interview posted above: That really made me proud of Carrie. I LOVE how she is so kind and warmhearted. My favorite line is the one where Lauren said that Carrie is someone who she idolized for years and when she met her she was so happy that Carrie is the real deal. She is exactly what is portrayed like on TV.
I really like Lauren. She is really sweet and cute. I think she has LONG way to go, but she can be a great singer if she gets great material.

LOL at that "no one ever calls her" story getting around! Now I see comments like "Aww, David Cook is so nice to call her." Hello! People, she's not begging to be called. It's more surprising than anything. You're being offered some help/ a shoulder to cry on/ someone to talk to by a HUGE star who's gone through the same thing you're about to go through and you don't take the opportunity. The way these things are twisted is so weird really.
Hee at the wrong call to the sex line :)

Carrie is looking for a song to cover at the upcoming FC party. You can find all the details over at the official FC page. I haven't sent mine in yet but I'm leaning towards 'On The Verge of Tears' by Patty Loveless, 'Back When We Were Beautiful' by Matraca Berg, or 'Addicted' by Dan Seals. I know...none of those are likely choices. But it's worth a shot! California King Bed--seriously. It's a good song and will benefit a lot from a good singer/exceptional belter

I know exactly how Carrie feels. I made the same mistake one time. Oops. LOL There is a reason they emphasize it's 866 and not 800. :)

I think I actually did that once as well. I would've loved to see the reaction on poor Carrie's face lmao. Is there anyway we can try to dial those numbers and tell who Carrie voted for? ;)

Sooo...in my search for new album news, I've stumbled across a lot of interesting old s**t. The latest being that Carrie & Ne-Yo were working on a duet at The Cutting Room Studios on 9/13/10: September 13th: The multi-talented writer/producer/artist Neyo in Studio A working on a duet with country/pop mega star Carrie Underwood & hit songwriter Luke Laird at The Cutting Room Studios. Carrie would definitely kill that.

Carrie and Ne-Yo? That could be interesting. I've always liked his music.
Has Carrie ever sang an R&B-esque song before?

Well, I've always got R&B vibes from 'You Won't Find This'. Especially in the intro and Carrie's delivery.
I've never been a big fan of Ne-Yo's. It's still interesting to hear that they had been considering a duet, though.

I'd love to see if Carrie could successfully incorporate some R&B fusion into a track or two in the future, so collaborating with Ne-Yo could be a good thing for her. :) Very different, and he's a very respectable artist and songwriter.

Randy Travis performed 'Is It Still Over' with Carrie on his HSN special. Carrie wasn't actually there...but you get the idea. Anyway, you can watch that here. Skip a bit past the half-way mark and you will eventually find it. Carrie sounds phenomenal. Nobody else out there today is capable of singing traditional country music like this. She just gets it.

To actually see the HQ footage of the Play On Tour.... Remind me again why they decided not to make a DVD? 'Cause I still don't get it.

The HQ of the PO Tour is fantastic, but that UI video is remarkable. WHY WAS THAT NOT THE REAL VIDEO?! Carrie sounds flawless on "Is It Still Over". I'm so impressed with the way she's able to do the classic Country songs such justice.

So they basically recorded the whole concert, yet they won't release it? What a waste.
She looks smokin hot in the ''Undo It'' video and she sounds amazing in ''Is It Still Over?'' , but that's no surprise as she always sounds great in country classics.
