Typo, has Ashley Gorley co-wrote any other songs for Carrie since DFTRM and AAG? (besides this new one)

Just listened to the interview with Ryan and she said she has half an album done and no new music for the iHeartRadio concert. Looks like they could be aiming for 2012...

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling 2012 now for album release. If they're not debuting any music at the iHeartRadio event, and Carrie only has half the album done (and she started recording in July), they must really be taking their time. Which, hopefully, will mean incredible things for the quality of the album.
I think we'll probably get a new single debut at the CMAs, with a new album being released in early 2012.

I don't see a single debut at the CMAs since it's almost obvious that she'll sing Remind Me with Brad...

To me it sounded like she is still writing for the album when she said that she was trying to "find what pieces of the puzzle are missing". I definitely don't think it's coming out this year, but I think we will get a lead single sometime in November, maybe around CMA time, with the album dropping in January. I know it sucks that we have to wait, but I actually kind of like the fact that she really seems to be taking her time with this one. It makes me feel like the album will be a masterpiece. I don't see a single debut at the CMAs since it's almost obvious that she'll sing Remind Me with Brad... Yeah, they could do RM at the CMAs, and just plan everything for 2012, including the release of the lead single. I had a dream last week that the album was coming out in March lol. If they wait until January to release the lead single, I could see the album actually coming out in March.

March would be pretty great actually. She could perform on Idol the week her album drops, or the week after so the drop won't be as drastic. She has enough songs so that they could do a Carrie theme week at Top 12, Top 13. Get those catalog sales!

I actually kind of like the fact that she really seems to be taking her time with this one. I actually like it too. A break from routine might just turn out to be her best decision for album #4. ;) Less rush, more artistic freedom... sounds good to me :) March would be pretty great actually. Get those catalog sales! Good point about Idol performance. We know Idol will welcome her and give her lots of promo (which extends to international audience!) any day! Carrie theme week will be awesome lol!

I'm sure the CMA's would let her perform ''Remind Me'' with Brad and the lead single if she wanted to. Last year she got two performances and one of them wasn't even a single.
I definitely think the album will come out early next year now. I too like the fact that she's taking a lot of time for this album. It may not sell as much as her others because it misses the Holiday sales, but if it positively influences the quality of the record I'm all for it.

Hey Everyone, how's it going on this fine day in the world of Carrie? I for one don't blame Carrie for taking her time with her new album because she wants the album to be great, awesome, amazing etc and her fans loving it.

I'm not even concerned about the business aspect of the album release date or whatever. Carrie's going to be fine - holiday sales or not. That being said, anyone think there's still a chance we'll get a lead single in November and an album in December? Or does that sound a little too far-fetched? Typo, has Ashley Gorley co-wrote any other songs for Carrie since DFTRM and AAG? (besides this new one) Yes. "That Don't Mean I Don't Miss You" for Carnival Ride. "Eighteen Inches," "I'll Be The DJ, "That Girl Is Gone," "Write A Song," "I Learned That By Loving You," and "All I Can Remember" for Play On. And, as of now, "Amazing Faith" & "That Girl" for the upcoming album.

I'm a tad bummed that there won't be any new material for the IHR fest, but I really can't be too mad if they're holding out for a debut & making some announcements because they want to make sure the album is perfect.
If they've got half of an album done, then that sounds like they're doing some major work in the studio. I'm not sure if that means that the writing process has settled down and selections are being finalized or what, but things sound promising that they're going to be doing a lot of recording & producing in the studio for the next month or so.
My prediction? Single in October, debut it in November at the CMAs (I don't see why RM and Carrie's lead single can't be performed in the same night...?), and an album release in January. An album release in December seems way too far-fetched and way too close to the single release, but who knows?

I'm worried about sales with no fourth quarter effect. :(

I'm worried about sales with no fourth quarter effect. :( It's really not too big of a concern for me, to be honest. I think of it this way: With Carrie's name and star power alone, she can crack 200k, bare minimum, regardless of how much her sales have shrunk throughout the course of time. If Carrie's got a strong enough lead single, she'll be able to crack larger milestones, such as 250k, 300k, etc. I wasn't expecting Play On to open with 318k since I Told You So had peaked in -- what, April, May, and we hadn't heard from Carrie all that much at all up until August/September, just like how we are right now. Granted, it's not the news we were expecting this time around, but that's not important. Then she came out with Cowboy Casanova which was a very strong lead single, and it was strong enough to crossover onto Pop, thus giving her a big edge. Comparing that to this situation, Carrie needs a strong lead single, IMO, to get 250k at the very least. I think a decent chunk of her usual sales were from winter sales, but if the label promotes it well enough and the lead single is strong enough, then who are we to spit at a debut that's a bit lower than her first 3? Point in summary, I think Carrie will be just fine. She's one of the few large forces in Country music right now that is able to crossover without a problem. If the label promotes well (which they've never not done in the past, may I add -- Carrie's street weeks are always fantastic and major) and the lead single is a good choice (and the right one, at that), then she should be absolutely fine.

If this album is as of high quality as it seems they are going for, then it will sell just fine. Think of what the word getting out about critical acclaim does for an artist's sales: Miranda Lambert, Jamey Johnson ("That Lonesome Song"), etc.

If Carrie is taking more time on this album to make it a better, more artistic album, then sales won't be an issue. If she does end up creating a masterpiece album, then the album sales will come regardless if it's released before the holiday sales or not. Just look at Adele's 21. It was released in January and it didn't even sell tremendously right away. Now it's sold over 3 million copies in less than a year in the US alone. And why is it selling this much? Because it's one of the best albums ever released (in my opinion). A good album is going to rack up album sales regardless if it's released in time for Black Friday/Christmas sales or if it's released during the Great Depression. So it's the quality of the album we need to be worried about, not the time of year it's released.

I can't at some people putting Carrie as the fourth person most likely to win the FVOTY at the CMAs. Oy.
Anyways, I agree. The time of year it's released really won't matter because Carrie's albums always have legs in terms of sales.

And it will have even more legs if it gets great word of mouth due to how incredible it is. Whether it releases in November, December, January, March, whatever, it doesn't matter nearly as much as the quality of the album.

is this carries first album under gary overton? considering his lack of warmth and support towards her, i wonder if theres something going on behind the scenes that makes this album take quite longer than just normal album-making process....

I can see Carrie's album having very long legs. And if it is something of a masterpiece like, "21" say... it could benefit greatly from 2012's Holiday sales even if it's released a near full year before...
I just hope for a Spring release though, January is dead. Everyone is broke, and people aren't looking for music. February isn't great either. March would be best... There is Idol to perform on, ACMs in April, etc...
Although I'll miss the whole 4th quarter release thing that we're used to, this could be a great change for Carrie. I just hope they do it right... and PICK THE RIGHT SINGLES!

True, I forgot about that... but having the mega-hit "Need You Now" was huge in that... So if a January release is the case, she'll need a big hit to generate big sales.

A benefit for release in January is there probably isn't too much competition.
I kind of doubt this but has anyone thought maybe Carrie is making a longer album in terms of amount of tracks. What if "halfway done" meant 8 or 9 songs? Just a thought.
