I love how she posted about that! I love her love for animals! Though it does seem random... We do know Carrie is really evil when it comes to new music news so I think that was totally teasing us. Like blogging saying "I still exist but you're not getting any new news!" rrrg! Come on Carrie give us something! She has to know we are dying here!!!!

Last night at the Opry, Carrie BLEW ME AWAY by How Great Thou Art. For those who haven't heard it yet, the very last notes she held out FOREVER! I don't even know how that was humanly possible. Every time I see her live she sounds better and better. She got a slight standing ovation from scattered sections of the audience after it!

Cap it done. Up on my site now! The stream contained some hum tonight, couldn't get rid of it. Could you please post a link to your site ? Thanks very much ! ETA: It is hard to judge that LQ clip of 'Remind Me', but Brad sounds out of tune for a significant part of the song and Carrie's "me"s sound off-key, which leads me to believe that is the quality of the recording is off rather the Carrie (and Brad, to a lesser degree). I take it you found it?

THAT LITTLE BRAT. I nearly crapped myself when I read "Good News" as the title... and then I read the blog.

Kelly covered Carrie's "I Know You Won't." 'Holy hell, that's a great song,' she said. I wholeheartedly agree, Kelly!

I like how Kelly acknowledged the song and she did good, but the guys in the audience are delusional to say that she did better than Carrie... I mean, it was vocally exceptional but didn't have Carrie's emotional anguish which is one of the things that actually make the song, for me!! Great effort, nonetheless!!

^^ I agree, both renditions are very different from each other, yet stellar. Here is even better audio of Kelly Clarkson's cover of 'I Know You Won't' from her show last night: Thank you, Vinman for the link to your site again ! ________________________________________________________________ And we haven't seen totals for Carrie Underwood's Just a Dream in a while, but its 197% increase in weekly sales puts it back on our radar -- and also reveals that it recently passed the 1 million mark in sales. Congratulations, Carrie! Brad Paisley/Carrie Underwood, Remind Me (25,000, -11%, 1.069 million) Carrie Underwood, Just a Dream (4,000, +197% :o , 1.011 million) Carrie Underwood, Before He Cheats (3,000, -10%, 3.314 million) content.usatoday.com/communities/idolchatter/post/2011/10/clarkson-alaina-underwood-downloads/1

Yeah, the IKYW cover was very different. I liked it but it lacked the epic-ness of Carrie's version. It's nice to see Kelly doing any Carrie cover though and hopefully Carrie will return the favor. :)

Carrie's climax on the song can never be beat. There is something about the power in Carrie's voice. Carrie glides up to the climax, where Kelly just went for it...
They're both fabulous vocalists but there is something about Carrie that Kelly doesn't have... maybe the slight Country twang? I haven't pinpointed it yet, but there is definitely something there. I'm drawn to big, powerful, wide voices, and while Kelly fits that perfectly, I've always been drawn to Carrie more...

I think that performance is really just all about personal preference. When two people sing a song perfectly, it's really just a matter of which voice you're drawn to more. I think that song in particular highlights what each fanbase likes about each singer. Kudos to Carrie for singing (and writing?) such a fantastic, beautiful song and providing one of my favorite Kelly performances to date.

Kelly did a phenomenal job on IKYW. I agree, it's a matter of preference. I don't think anyone can sing it quite like Carrie, but that's my opinion and doesn't mean that someone else's rendition of the song isn't good.

And it actually sounded like a completely different song with very different vibe. But because I'm not a big fan of too much melisma/runs/whatever you call it, I naturally love Carrie's crystal-clear yet haunting tone more.

i like it very much - kellys raspy tone with the rough edges gives a whole another dimension to the song. it gives another "interpretation" of the desperation in the song. carrie and kelly interpret it differently but i love both versions!
and its about time one of them does anothers song. i hope carrie returns the favor. it took this long for kelly to cover a carrie song - i wonder when we'll ffinally see a picture of them together?! lol!

Well, Kelly sure loves to cover country legends and Carrie is a (future) country legend, so it makes sense to me. I would love Carrie to use her country twang and gorgeous vocals to cover Kelly's 'Sober'.

Both versions of the song are great. Now, all I need is for Carrie to cover Already Gone.

Kelly’s rendition is excellent for what it is. However, I highly doubt anyone will ever be able to top what Carrie serves me with that song. There’s this intense madness she brings to it, which just takes it above & beyond for me. She sounds borderline-psychotic when she reaches the climax.

What spiked the sales for "Just A Dream" this past week? I'm definitely missing something...

yes! sober has that vulnerable, desperate, sad tone that carrie does quite excellently!
ikyw will forever join the night before and someday when i stop loving you as carrie's best songs never to be released as singles. and its such a tragedy considering that these songs are much much better than songs that actually got released as singles. sometimes, releasing the right (or wrong) songs as singles can impact a career too....still cant stop imagining sometimes what could have happened had swisly had been released instead and mamas song is buried down down under in that album and would have been just a forgotten footnote in carries catalog.
i hope carrie doesnt stop singing ikyw in future sets even if shes had already like, say, 7 or so albums to work with.

I pray Carrie keeps IKYW in her set list for her 2012 tour. It's always a concert highlight, not only for us fans, but seemingly also for the critics. It almost always gets talked about in reviews as one of the best parts of her show.

LOL my "brat" comment was done in a fun and jest manner. Anyways, the Kelly cover is fantastic. It's emotional and very soulful, and I like the acoustic-type feel she gave the song. However, it's all about personal taste, and I prefer Carrie's version more simply because of the immense emotion and haunting vocals Carrie gives. They're both great versions.

Kelly's version of IKYW is very good. I've seen Carrie sing it live and I just can't imagine anyone ever topping that for me. I really enjoy Kelly, but I don't follow her. I see the buzz on this cover because I follow Carrie. What is the buzz like for the 4(?) new songs she sang at this showcase/concert(?)? Were they over shadowed by this cover?

So, from the sound of this Brandon Heath interview w/ The Grand Rapids Press, a Christmas album was originally in-the-works: He [Brandon Heath] has a new Christmas song (“The Night Before Christmas”) on the just-released “WOW Christmas” compilation CD. The song originally was on hold for Underwood, who decided not to release a holiday album of her own. I guess that explains all of those Rowfax listings seeking Christmas songs for Carrie.

I'm glad she didn't release a holiday album, that'd kinda suck to be honest. Especially since all holiday albums have the same 'christmas classics'.
