They should transform "I Know You Won't" into one big lesbian affair.

Now that we're past the CMAs, there's nothing really to look forward to until a new single, whenever the fuck that is...

^That's true... It will be a Carrie-less Christmas... :( I hope we at least get some news about the album like release date/title/pictures/first single title this year...

After re-watching the RM performance from the CMAs a couple days ago, I have to say that Carrie didn't do nearly as badly as people made it out to be. From what I've heard after watching it back a few times... *the opening "Remind me"s were off because you could tell that the mic was having problems, seeing as it cut off the me halfway through and it was dead silent for a split-second. *the "Do you reMEHHmber" part was off when she went into the "turned out the lights and didn't just sleep" lyric. *after the long not from the "assume I know" line, she was slightly off for a brief and almost unnoticable moment when she went into the "Remind me!" line that followed immediately after the note ended.
That was it. That band was so damn loud and completely tuned out the first half of the song.
Just wanted to say something since I was re-watching the videos.

I've watched it back a couple times and I actually like the performance. There were definitely, as you noted, some off moments, but I think it largely could be blamed on the sound of the band. I remember watching some of the rehearsal footage and she sounded better, I think. I also think, and it may just be my headphones, but the big "knooow!" note wasn't really that off. It's definitely not as bad as I thought, but still, the song does not translate well live.

^ I agree, I said from the beginning that the main issue was with the band and not their voices. Carrie's mic was clearly having troubles. Not going to deny there were slight pitch problems, but with that loud unnecessary music playing in the background, I don't blame them. I could only imagine how hard it was for Carrie to hear herself, which then lends into why she over-sang parts as well. Overall it was a great performance considering the circumstances. People have also said above that it just doesn't make for a great live song because there is so much going on throughout the song, and I agree with that as well. Recorded, this song is much better. Live, it just seems too disorganized and somewhat "all over the place" musically.

I agree as well. I blame it on the terrible quality of the online stream I was watching lol. I watched the performance again on vinman's HD video and I actually liked it. A couple of off sounds, but overall it was quite good. :)

Yeah I never really got the hate for the "Remind Me" performance other than Carrie's first two "Remind Me's" in her head voice. I do think it is just a song that does not come across live as well as it does in the studio. I would not call it a bad performance though, just not up to Carrie's standards.
As a random side note, I really liked the lighting during the performance and the high five between Brad and Carrie after. Great moment.

I was hoping for some single-related news as a birthday gift. But I'll take that title

So Small is only $0.69 on iTunes, and it's the next closest single of Carrie's to go Platinum, with less than 40k to go. Promote it on Twitter, Tumblr, FB, etc.!

I'm buying it since I had a different account when I purchased "So Small" when it first came out

^ I can't say exactly what she wrote but the jist of it is basically: she is looking for a single to put out and writing more.

Blog update:
Talks about Mike's funky facial hair for a benefit his team is doing.
Album; -Has nine songs done and looking for a few more. -The album is tempo-heavy and she's looking for slower ones. -They're trying to lock a first single now. -After she records the rest of the songs in December, it's up to Mark Bright to do the producing. -She'll be writing until the very end.
Pretty hefty update if you ask me. That's basically all of it in my own words, of course ;)

She said she recorded vocals for 3 more songs the week before the CMA Awards which gives her a total of 9 songs she's recorded for the album. She says she will be back in the studio to record 4-6 more songs in the beginning of December, and then Mark Bright will have to do the producing. She says she will be writing more this week, and that she will keep writing until the last minute.
So I guess this album will be 13-15 songs, and from the sound of it, it's pretty uptempo.

^ I really hope 15... I think a March release date is what'll happen, with a single out in January. Me thinks she'll get a Grammy slot with this timeline If she is nominated for something, even RM, I think she'll be performing! Just a little early prediction..

I wouldn't be surprised if she has a Grammy slot this year. As long as a lead single is released by January, she could be set. This is so exciting!

Would she be allowed to perform a new single at the Grammy's, or RM if it's nominated?

I'm really not seeing a Grammy performance this year.
Album #4 is still sounding great as ever. However, I'm a little concerned that Carrie & the label may have taken the positive reaction to "Undo It" / "Walk This Way" at the ACMs and ran with it. I love Carrie in rocker mode and I realize that it's an important part of her musical identity but that's just not something I want to be showcased on a full length album. Hopefully this is just me getting worked up over nothing, though!
I'd rather the up-tempo tracks be more in the vein of her recent "Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On" & "Take Me Home, Country Roads" covers.

Would she be allowed to perform a new single at the Grammy's, or RM if it's nominated? Yes? There is no rule to say she isn't allowed... She is a Grammy darling and I'm sure she has the connections to get her a slot if she isn't nominated. So if she is nominated, that'll be a kicker in getting her a performance slot. Usually they have 2-3 artists there to represent Country. Last year; Martina, Miranda, Lady A, and maybe one more that I cant think of... Usually artists don't perform in consecutive years, Carrie being a huge exception... With that said Miranda might not perform this year leaving a slot for Carrie who would be at the beginning of a new album. Taylor could take the slot, but she'll be at the end of an era... She could however, get a slot for "Speak Now" if she is a top nominee. That would still leave 1-2 slots for Country artists... So thinking about it, Carrie has a decent shot at a performance slot, if anything, her and Brad could perform "Remind Me" if that happens to be during the time, or right after they push the song at AC... Or, of course for new material. We'll see, but she certainly has a better shot at performing than last year!

From what i am hearing that Carrie said that she is looking for slower songs too not just up-tempo songs.. What she said is that usually she is going crazy to find good uptempos for her albums, but this time it's the other way around and she is scrambling to find good ballads for this album since it's so uptempo.

I don't exactly skip the uptempos... but I certainly don't have them on repeats as much as the ballads and mid tempos!
