So do we know if Carrie is really going to the CMT Music Awards? The CMT Music Awards FB page made a post a couple of weeks ago: "Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood will both be there. Will you? Buy your tickets for the 2011 CMT Music Awards." ...or something like that. Regardless, nobody can seem to find it anymore, so nobody for sure knows if Carrie's going now. However, she'll be at the Billboard Country Q&A Summit w/ Kenny Chesney, she's on the 2011 CMA Music Fest Lineup as "Other Music Festivities", and she's not supposed to be in Australia until June 10, and the awards are going to be on June 8. Sooo... can we make a decent assumption that she will be there since she'll be involved in the CMA Fest and the Summit appearances?

Isn't Carrie suppose to speak at some sort of Billboard meeting/conference/discussion. When does that take place. Is it confirmed that she will actually be in Australia on the 10th?

It has been confirmed that Carrie will be on DWTS June 12 in Australia. YES! Very excited for that! What do you think she'll perform, though? She's promoting the deluxe album, so will she perform an actual PO track or one of the bonus tracks? ??? "Remind Me" is now available for sale on Amazon. Enjoy, US fans! For those outside the US who are still waiting for iTunes like me, good luck! About time! Now I'm just waiting for iTunes to do it so I can buy more copies of it

I'm hoping she'll perform "Cowboy Casanova". I think it would be cool for the dancers to dance to, and that one always seems to win the crowd over.

I would really love for her to branch out of the country scene a bit. A song on Guetta's new album, a feature in a rap single a-la-Rihanna, maybe even double album with 6/7 songs each, one disk full of classic country Carrie and one much more trendy and CHR/POP.

I would really love for her to branch out of the country scene a bit. That'll never happen, though. She's said time in and time out that she'll never release directly to Pop, directly to Top 40/Mainstream, never remix, etc. If it happens to cross-over, then that's a different story.

A song on Guetta's new album, a feature in a rap single a-la-Rihanna, maybe even double album with 6/7 songs each, one disk full of classic country Carrie and one much more trendy and CHR/POP. Yeah, it's not gonna happen. I would love for her to score another crossover hit like "Before He Cheats", but if "Cowboy Casanova" and "Undo It" didn't crossover, I don't think anything else she releases will. She refuses to do pop mixes of her songs, so I just don't see it happening anytime soon, unfortunately. Too bad T-Pain never got his hands on Carrie to do a song with him like he wanted lol. Carrie is very well-known outside of the country scene already anyway, but she could be even more popular than Taylor if she would just branch outside of country a bit. She's not interested in being a country-pop crossover superstar like Shania, I think she's aiming more toward being a Reba-type icon once she gets older. I just don't think Carrie cares enough to crossover. She seems very happy with her place in country music, and as bad as I want her to put herself out there more, I respect her for that.

I don't really want Carrie to crossover as much as I did before... take Taylor, for instance, HUUUUGE with the Fearless era and nowhere near as big with the Speak Now singles... I look as Pink as an example of steady moderate success and that's what I want the most for Carrie's career: steadiness... Kelly could be another example of how I don't want Carrie to succeed... very VERY few pop (or crossover) artists aren't defined by ONE successful era (Beyonce, Britney are the few that comes to mind)...
I don't consider Some Hearts a case like Breakaway was because it was huge due to American Idol and not worldwide and what crossedover was just one song...
my 2 cents... steady and always!! =)

US singer and former American Idol starlet Carrie Underwood will arrive in Australia for her promotional tour this Friday. And it would appear that her record company Sony is pulling out all the stops to make sure everyone knows she's in town, with TV performances confirmed for both Sunrise and Dancing With The Stars, as well as appearances on Today Tonight and The Circle. Carrie will also take time out of the busy promotional schedule to perform at an exclusive industry and media showcase in Sydney. To coincide with the singer's visit, a deluxe Australian edition of her album 'Play On' (with a bonus disc containing seven additional tracks including six US No.1 singles) is being released to retail this Friday AND Sony has this week serviced 'Undo It' (pictured) to local radio as the latest local single to be lifted from the LP. Five Grammys, countless other awards and more than 13 million albums sold across the globe - Australia is about to get a mighty good taste of the Carrie Underwood pie. auspop.blogspot.com/

That's some great promo for Australia. I guess she'll mostly perform 'Undo It' then, if they send that out to radio.

Carrie is very well-known outside of the country scene already anyway, but she could be even more popular than Taylor if she would just branch outside of country a bit. I very much doubt that. Why? She's a better singer and better-looking. I guarantee you if she had done the promotion Taylor did, and had remixed her crossover songs (Last Name, Cowboy Casanova, Undo It) to pop, Carrie would emerge as the bigger star. Look at how big she is already, and she only caters to the country audience in the US. This is Carrie's first time truly promoting herself outside of the states, and she's already a huge star.

Taylor and Carrie are both talented and while they both attract similar audiences, they appeal to different ones as well. While I do think that if Carrie were to have the same exposure and promotion that Swift has had, she would be huge. However there's no way to tell who would be a bigger star and I highly doubt Carrie will crossover like Taylor, so is it worth arguing about? Besides, different stokes for different folks.

I'm not even getting involved in that hypothetical mess. Carrie chose her path and she's doing damn well on it.
