Just read that she will be at a wedding in Ontario on Friday. Really? Where'd you read it? Wonder who the wedding is for... Maybe one of Mike's old Senator teammates?

Was there ever any doubt that they wouldn't be host again this year?? They do such an amazing job so I don't see how they will be replaced anytime soon. :)
The hand wringing at CF is quite amusing though....Next up, will Carrie get the EOTY nod? LOL

LOLIf she couldn't get it during one of the busiest and most successful tour years of her career, I highly doubt she'll get it this year. $100 says they'll forget that the entire fall 2010 Play On Tour was during the first half of the eligibility period. Oh well, hopefully we'll see another amazing tour in 2012 that simply cannot be denied. I think Carrie and Brad will be hosting the CMAs for as long as they choose to.

Still scratching my head over that non-nomination fiasco. ?? After 6 years in the business, 13 or so million albums sold, all the number ones, all the awards, super bowl NA performances, Grand Old Opry induction, etc, etc, etc, and not even ONE CMA EOYT nomination. I don't get it.

I really don't even care about EOTY for the CMAs anymore. What's done is done. Did she dseserve it? Yeah. Was she snubbed? Yeah. But did the CMAs (and ACMs for that matter) get their asses chewed up for it? Hell yeah. She most likely won't get a nod this year. The only way she would is if they give it to her out of sympathy for last year. Sure, she's actually done a lot this year, but I really don't even care anymore. She's done more than enough to solidify her place in the industry and has done more than enough to prove herself as an iconic female in country music. A trophy isn't needed to represent that.
Anyways, I'm stoked that they're hosting again.

I think the noms for CMA EOTY will be Jason, Kenny, Taylor, Brad, and Keith...and maybe Lady A if one of the others get snubbed. Yeah Carrie deserves it but the CMAs gave her 3 Female Vocalists and I guess they think thats good enough. In the 1980s they gave Reba EOTY on the 3rd year of the 4 in row she won Female, and in 1986 was really her big breakout hit with "New England" and she hadn't even had a sellout arena tour yet, that didn't come for her til the early 90s. So they gave Reba EOTY with far less success at that point in her career than Carrie has accumulated by now. Boy how times have changed.

Winning or being nominated for that award doesn't change her place in country music, imo. It would be nice, but if not then she's won more then enough to make up for it. I'm just happy they'll be hosting the show and that we'll be getiting a new album sometime soon. And you'll never know what the next album will bring.

Excited for CMA because I can't wait to see Brad/Carrie hosting again! I wonder how many dresses Carrie will be changing this year lol. But please Carrie, no more ballerina dress! But, it's possible and probable that one of the most awarded, best liked, best vocalist, number one song producing, album selling wonders in country music superstardom will never get a single CMA Eoty nomination. That, my friend, would be a travesty.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood return to host "The 45th Annual CMA Awards"...“We couldn’t ask for better hosts than Carrie and Brad,” said Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “They have the unique qualities of humor, talent, credibility, and natural rapport that makes them a hit with the fans and the industry audience. The CMA Awards are in great hands with Brad and Carrie at the podium.”
“Hosting the CMA Awards the past three years has been an incredible experience –I love it,” said Underwood. “I’m so honored to be asked back with my friend, Brad. The creative process of getting ready for the show is a blast, and I look forward to sharing Country Music’s Biggest Night with all the fans!”
“It’s hard to believe this will be our fourth year to host the CMA Awards – it’s such an honor to be invited back,” Brad added. “I love working with Carrie, she’s a class act and a complete balance to my non-class act. I’ll try my best to not mess it up.”

Haven't posted a while in this thread! 1) Very happy that Carrie and Brad are hosting the CMAs again! 2) I don't expect an EOTY nod for Carrie but I sure hope she's able to win vocalist. Remind Me should put her on top if it blows up big, no? 3) Very excited for the 4th album. I was hoping for a 11.1.11 release date but that seems to be out of the question now. But I'd rather she take her time to give a brilliant album. 4) Very glad RM is doing well on radio and on iTunes.

I know it is unlikely, but an 11/1/11 date would be awesome if not only because the date is awesome but to see how Miranda and Carrie would compete sales wise? No? Just a little friendly competition... Much like Lil Wayne and 50 Cent a few years ago... Carrie and Miranda are on very similar levels in Country music... Carrie's career has mellowed while Miranda's took off recently and it seems they kind of balance out each other.
Anyway, I just thought this because they could really hype the competition up like with Wayne and 50 and that'll certainly drive sales... See which fan base is stronger, etc... It would be interesting to see the result.. I think Carrie would win in a land slide but you really never know...
Just a thought, what do ya'll think?

I don't know how that worked out for Wayne and 50 considering I think rap is garbage and I choose to ignore it, but I know Carrie and Miranda are both under Sony, so I don't know if they would want that... But I agree, it could potentially drive sales, but I think for that it would have to be the same week, and I don't think that would be smart nor do I think it would ever happen.

Having two of the biggest females in Country music release on the same day? Not smart, especially since they're also a part of the same label. They wouldn't do that in the first place. Competition would be extreme, but it's an unnecessary competition. Just release Carrie's later on and they can both individually get their respectably large street weeks and hot-shot debuts. I don't see the need or want to pin them against each other, to be honest.

"Remind Me" sales from MusicRow: The guitar slammin’, singer/songwriter also has two songs on the tracks list this week, his monster Carrie Underwood duet, “Remind Me,” which logs 68k downloads for a five week RTD of 327k scanned.

They're friends and I know it would only create for a little friendly competition between each other... It would be a neat way to drive sales though and being under the same label they have the authority to do it. I don't think it will happen, nor do I believe it should but it would make for an intense week in both Carrie and Miranda's fan bases...

AOL's The Boot interviewed Bill Anderson: Do you think younger artists have the respect for the Opry today as artists did when you were coming on board?
I absolutely do, I feel it from a lot of them. Carrie Underwood has really floored me as to how many times she has performed at the Opry since she became a member. I said this the last time I introduced her, I said, "Here is this lady who could be on any stage in the world tonight, and here she is devoting this night to be on the Opry." I think I introduced her the first time.
Carrie, Brad, Vince [Gill], these are the people who will carry it on.
