No Female Vocalist :(
It went to Miranda, as predicted...

I think it'd be odd for Carrie to win Female Vocalist this year since she's taken most of it off. So, I'm not upset. Next year though..it's hers.

LOL. My hopes for that went down about 2 weeks after the nomination was announced. I had no expectations for Carrie to win, even though she is the best vocalist of the group.

Didn't Carrie also predicted that she will lose and just wait until next year and Brad & Carrie getting calls from the oscars? wouldn't that be amazing of its true...

I missed most of the show except for the last 10 minutes, so here is the video for those who also missed it. I would appreciate if anyone finds any links to the Carrie-related media from tonight (hosting clips, flashes, outtakes). ;) I was super-pumped for this performance, but it was a letdown to me. First, the good, is that Brad Paisley sounded surprisingly good, on-pitch, and strong for all but the end of the song where he became only a bit pitchy. But, the no-so-good: Carrie started out fairly rough with the first couple of "remind"s in head voice, which sounded too weak amid a loud background, followed by the louder "me", which sounded sharp. During her verse, which was perhaps a bit soft, she sounded very good as well as during the second verse, where both Brad and Carrie sounded together. Subsequently, her first high note was pitchy, but she picked it up towards the end of the song. I didn't care much for the tone of the final high notes (contrast this to the gorgeous high notes of 'How Great Thou Art', which had a much softer and quieter production. This leads me to believe that perhaps the instrumentals were too loud in her inner-ear. As a song, I have never cared 'Remind Me' from the time it was released, but I have decided, as some others have, that this song simply translates poorly live for various reasons.

Brad and Carrie are just getting better and better as hosts every year. The opening monologue this year was HILARIOUS! Definitely my fave out of the 4 CMAs.
Still amazed me that this is the same girl whom many people call a "farmbot" 6 years ago. She has gotten SOOO comfortable acting and performing.
I wonder which are the dresses she has a hand in designing as well.

I'm so damn proud of Carrie this year. She seemed so comfortable, witty, adorable, and charming this year as a host. That opening monologue was just flawless, and that loose jab at Biebs definitely brought a big laugh. I'm so in love with the fact that she's proven herself time after time again to be such a multiple threat. Her dress changes definitely brought major entertainment this year, which was very fun, as per usual. I loved most of the dresses, too. My least favorite, actually, was the one she wore during her performance (although the leg slit made it sexy as hell). Her dig at Brad's book was hysterical as hell, too! I'm just extremely proud of our girl. I'm hoping we get some major album and/or single announcements soon since she's going to be riding high through this week and the next from the promo have with her. And, I'm SO excited that Carrie will be at the 2012 CMA Fest next year, seeing as I have my tickets bought!

I just watched the performance of Remind Me again, and idk. I thought it was fabulous. The only complaint I have is that Carrie's mic seemed to be set a bit low, volume-wise, but she has such a strong voice that she pulled through that. Brad sounded a lot better than I expected him to, also.
And, my goodness, is Carrie ever comfortable or what on that stage as a host? That opening monologue was fantastic - I've never seen Carrie have as much fun or as much confidence in her hosting abilities as she did this year.
Also, very excited that Carrie is confirmed for CMA Fest next year. At the very least it means we'll definitely have an album by then! ;)

You know, looking back at Carrie's Idol audition and her as tonight's co-host of the CMAs for the 4th year in a row...I really can't believe it's the same girl.
She has grown so much, and tonight she reminded me of why I'm such a huge fan and love her so much. I also loved tonight's monologue the best out of the 4 (I can barely remember the others though lol).
I'm hoping that she will slay with this new record coming out, and I have a gut feeling that she will surprise us all.

OMG, I died of laughter of the Faith/Tim doll skit. Thank you very much for posting, leilamauriziaCarrie is such a natural at comedic acting and entertaining- she is especially good at playing the witty, funny gal without trying to be. Indeed, she gets better every year. I hope she decides to venture into acting more !

^ I definitely hope to see her in some comedy roles! I think she's ready to handle bigger TV/movie roles.
A return guest spot on the HIMYM would be cool too, for selfish reasons lol.

I keep rewatching the opening and the Tim/Faith dolls bit still cracks me up. OMG, that was gooood! Heehee!
I'm looking forward to more Brad and Carrie hosting the CMAs for years to come, hopefully.

I liked that performance. I don't think "Remind Me" is ever going to make for all that fluid of a live performance with all of the little interruptions mid-chorus & mid-verse. Not to mention the obvious sound issues going down during tonight's performance. However, Carrie pulled through all of that for the most part, I think. Looked fucking smoking while doing it, too.
As far as hosting is concerned: Carrie's a star.

I was there tonight for the award show and enjoyed it very much. Brad and Carrie as hosts are the highlights. Great performance too, it is a difficult song to pull off live.
I look forward to seeing Carrie take home an award or two at next years CMAs.

We all are going to disagree or agree with that RM performance..I like it and it was awesome.
Is anyone having issues getting on CF?

I thought Brad and Carrie did an outstanding job as hosts this year and I can see them being hosts for many more to come. They were both hilarious! RM was a little off at first but I blame the sound tech. I thought most of the performances were off the entire night. Loved all Carrie's dresses except for the last one. That was a little weird...lol

Loved all Carrie's dresses except for the last one. That was a little weird...lol I love all the dresses except the one she wore during the Little Justin Bieber thing... and perhaps the short brown sequined dress, which was a little boring for me. I love the funkier ones actually. The red carpet dress, opening monologue dress and the last 3 dresses of the night were my faves. I think the weirdest dress she ever worn is still the one she wore during Brad's EOTY win last year lol.

Not one of her best performances last night. She was off. And at times I could not hear her singing. Music was too loud.

I'll agree about mic issues and the music being too loud for their voices, but I'm honestly not getting where Carrie (or even Brad, for that matter) were off in their singing. To me, they sounded fabulous.

She had her moments here and there, but the performance as a whole was just a bit off. I don't know if it's because they did so much compression on her vocals in the studio version or what, but the tone of her voice sounds significantly lower when performed live. On the plus side, they do have amazing chemistry when performing together. I'll watch the other hosting clips later. I'm assuming they did a short song or two throughout the night during one of the bits?

That performance sort of highlights why the song doesn't work for me after the halfway point...it all just becomes sort of clumsy and too loud. Not a great performance, but nothing that would harm the song's performance. That being said, Jason and Kelly's performances of DYWS only got better and better as they performed it, and I imagine the same would happen here.
Anyway, does anyone have an HQ audio link of her How Great Thou Art performance during that country girls night thing? The one on iTunes isn't as good, but I'm ready to induct Carrie into my iTunes if there's an mp3 of that performance floating around.
