Why has everyone suddenly started thinking that uptempo = "Undo It?" You can have folksy uptempo tracks, people.

From the latest Billboard Update: On the country list, Lambertmoves ahead of three other acts—all solo females—to arrive at the summit with each of their first three albums: LeAnn Rimes (1996-97), Gretchen Wilson (2004-07) and Carrie Underwood (2005-09). With her chart-topping albums run still active, Underwood will probably match Lambert’s accomplishment when her fourth album is released next year—a release date hasn’t yet been announced for the follow-up to Underwood’s twice-platinum-plus 2009 set, Play On, but the label is reportedly preparing to launch the album with a lead radio track soon. And, even more praise directed at Brad & Carrie as hosts, this time from Country Aircheck: Country radio’s reaction to Wednesday’s (11/9) 45th Annual CMA Awards telecast is overwhelmingly positive, but two moments stand out in particular: Brad and Carrie’s opening monologue and the tribute to Glen Campbell.
The natural chemistry between Paisley and Underwood was mentioned frequently as seemingly looser than ever in this, their fourth year hosting the CMAs. The entire opening segment was considered a winner, thanks to two bits in particular. Sirius XM Sr. Dir./Country Programming John Marks calls the Hank Williams, Jr. sneak attack “the most memorable part of the show. It was both topical and funny; I’m still chuckling over it.” That was topped minutes later, says consultant Joel Raab: “The Tim and Faith Barbie doll segment is a classic.” KRTY/San Jose GM Nate Deaton calls Paisley “this decade’s Vince Gill.” KSD/St. Louis PD Steve Stewart says Paisley and Underwood “deserve to be signed as hosts for many years to come,” while Raab suggests, “I can see them hosting the Oscars.” Why has everyone suddenly started thinking that uptempo = "Undo It?" Probably because she said there were some real rockers on the album in today's blog along with the 'little bit edgier' comment from one of last week's pre-CMA interviews. And, yes, I understand that edgy can be interpreted in a variety of ways. It's just something I'm a little mindful about. You can have folksy uptempo tracks, people. Of course.

It's arguable In what way? US has the single largest economy in the world, behind the European Union, but in terms of individual nations, US has the largest... Remains one of the most powerful countries in the world...blah blah blah... but this has nothing to do with it.. In album sales, America tends to have the strongest market in music. Adele's "21", has roughly 10,000,000 sales worldwide and almost half of those sales are from the United States (4.3 million). An album doesn't hit it big "worldwide" until it hits big in the United States. Hence why; Susan Boyle, Leona Lewis, Adele, Westlife, Il Divo, and all those international groups/artists are heavily promoted in the United States. It's not a nationalistic thing, it's fact.

Not that I even care, because this useless pseudo-debate is really as simple as stating the facts that Some Hearts is the best-selling Idol album domestically and Breakaway is the best-selling album internationally, but what the hell does this have to do with anything? It doesn't contradict what's been said by anyone, nor does it change the aforementioned facts or put them in a new light.

You must not have read the entire post because it did directly answer the question asked, "in what way?" in reference to the whole US vs. Worldwide sales. *** Yes, I went literal on the question instead of addressing specifically to the domestic vs. international thing, but the comment made by bigb0882 said, "Best selling Idol album *in the US.* There is a lot more to the world than just the U.S." - that was the comment I was speaking towards, not really on the topic of "Some Heart" and "Breakaway".

Really?
Next time I'll make sure I clarify whether I'm referring to "domestic" or "international" sales totals when I'm simply trying to honor a freakin' album's anniversary.[/u]
Goodness, people. Can we just drop this stupid and baseless argument and move on?

Goodness, people. Can we just drop this stupid and baseless argument and move on? And with this post, the Breakaway/Some Hearts/US-vs.-the-world discussion ends now.(Just for future reference, any "mod message" from me will be in color. If I'm in black then I'm just commenting like a regular poster.)

:organized stalking: So...according to this tweet Carrie's staying out in Wilmington, North Carolina 'til this Friday. This is ~interesting because Carrie had previously been sighted at a David Cook / Gavin DeGraw concert in Boone, North Carolina last Friday. And, a quick glance at David Cook's touring schedule reveals that his next show this Thursday is in...Wilmington, North Carolina. I'm not interested in Cook collaborations of any kind but at least if true this means Carrie has successfully dodged Kara's recent trip to Nashville.

If true this means Carrie has successfully dodged Kara's recent trip to Nashville. :dead: I love this. Speaking of collaborations, do you think there will be any collaborations on the new album? I'm curious to see. I don't think Carrie's hinted at any, but she did mention the branching off of RM, so maybe a Brad collabo might be in the works for the new album.

I kind of expect a "Remind Me" part two, similar to how Rihanna had a part two of "Love the Way You Lie" and Alicia Keys had "Empire State of Mind (Broken Down)." Maybe a sequel to where Brad and Carrie are singing about how they were 'reminded' about their love? I don't even know. I'm just throwing out ideas like a crazy person.
She could even call it "Reminded."

I think it was an idea for her to come up with "Remind Me Part II"... But highly doubt anything will come of it.
I hope for at least one collaboration, Carrie doesn't usually have any on her albums... "What Can I Say" being the only one I can think of, hardly a "collaboration" in the context of superstars... I would love a duet with Garth Brooks, Reba, Martina, Lauren Alaina, Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney... etc... I'd be happy with any of these people/groups!

Looks like Carrie may indeed be writing with David Cook and David Hodges this week. Hodges just tweeted about being in NC.
Edit: Wait, I may have misunderstood that tweet. It was Cook who tweeted about being in NC, and Hodges was replying to that sans quotation marks. Whoops!
