a month is nothing, especially during holiday season.I've usually had to wait around 2 1/2 - 3 months.


Nice to hear Stella found a home, but I would have bet Carrie would keep her.

Carrie's the cover girl for the new People Style Watch, February issue. So, the rollout's starting. On p. 20 there's a little feature on her ACM red carpet look where she was wearing the jewel toned purple Jean Fares Couture dress. Carrie calls it "boho glam". More important is the article describes Carrie as "2012 Grammy nominee who will release a new single this month."

I don't know if "this month" means January since the mag's out or February since the issue is technically dated February. But these mags are always dated forward. It's pretty obvious Carrie won't have a single out before late January anyway but the bottom line is, the rollout's starting (which is why Carrie's on the cover of People StyleWatch).

Tony Bennett TV special

A host of country and Nashville-related artists will appear with the legendary Tony Bennett for the January PBS special Tony Bennett: Duets II, a behind-the-scenes look at the recording of his acclaimed album Duets II.

Joining Bennett for performances of his greatest hits are Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Michael Buble, k.d. lang, Queen Latifah, Norah Jones, Josh Groban, Alejandro Sanz and more. The special is being shown as part of PBS’ Great Performances Series, and features stars singing with Bennett on his greatest hits during the Duets II recording sessions. In Music City, several sessions took place at Ben’s Studio on 17th Ave. S.

Highlights include Bennett and Faith Hill on “The Way You Look Tonight,” as well as Amy Winehouse’s final recording on “Body & Soul.” Full song program is included below.

Released in September 2011, Duets II topped sales charts and earned heaps of critical praise. It is currently nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Traditional Pop Vocal, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s).

Voting for the 2011 Taste of Country Song of the Year award went down to the final hours, with three of the five songs nominated shuffling for top honors. Once midnight struck on Jan. 2, however, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood‘s ‘Remind Me’ was left as the winner, receiving over 26 percent of the total votes.

The two friends and CMA co-hosts recorded the song for Paisley’s ‘This is Country Music’ album, and fans were itching to hear it on the radio from the day the project was released in May. The steamy ballad led to an equally hot — literally, they filmed it in the desert — video. While the couple’s relationship has never been anything but platonic, they did a nice job of convincing fans otherwise during this song. ‘Remind Me’ was one of the highlight performances of the 2011 CMA Awards in November as well.

Taylor Swift made a late push in an attempt to win a fifth Taste of Country award in this category, but ‘Mean’ ultimately fell short. ‘Country Girl (Shake It for Me)’ by Luke Bryan held the lead at various times during the month long voting period, but finished third, about two percentage points behind ‘Remind Me.’ ‘Honey Bee’ by Blake Shelton and ‘Cost of Livin” by Ronnie Dunn rounded out the voting.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD GRANTS WISHES FOR HER HOMETOWN SCHOOLS WITH DONATION THROUGH HER C.A.T.S. FOUNDATION

Carrie Underwood made wishes come true this holiday season for the schools in her hometown of Checotah, Oklahoma with donations amounting to $350,000 through her C.A.T.S. Foundation - Checotah Animal, Town, and School Foundation. Each of the four schools - Marshall Elementary, Checotah Intermediate School, Checotah Middle School, and Checotah High School - learned just in time for Christmas that they would receive the necessary funds from C.A.T.S. to fulfill various school needs. The donations will go towards items such as new computer labs for each school, plus playground equipment, physical fitness equipment, as well as new band uniforms, furniture, storage, instruments for their music programs, among other items.

“Late last year each of the schools created a list of their needs and I am so thrilled that the C.A.T.S. Foundation was able to fund it all,” said Underwood. “It gives me great joy knowing we are helping my hometown schools to offer an even better education to the students. They deserve it.”

“We are so proud of Carrie and her accomplishments and we appreciate everything she has done for our students. Every student in our school will benefit from the C.A.T.S. Foundation’s generous donation,” shared Toni Brown, Assistant Superintendent of Checotah Public Schools.

In addition, this past October, Underwood’s C.A.T.S. Foundation partnered with national non-profit organization KaBOOM!, and with the help of over 200 local volunteers built a playground in one day at Marshall Elementary School designed by the school's students.

Roots and wings. This is what many parents try to give to their children and Carrie's parents certainly succeeded brilliantly. I love that she takes care of her home town and honors her roots and obviously I am the great beneficiary of the wings her parents gave her every time I listen to one of her songs. Carrie is officially calling next week the start of the album launch. (3) Photo shoots to do for album and single launch. Carrie's hitting the gym to work off the Christmas calories for the shoots. Shooting video for the first single by the end of the month. Meeting next week to discuss ideas. Carrie has a few of her own. The second video for single #2 will be shot soon after because Carrie hates when the songs go up and down on the charts before the video can get released.

Plus Stella is doing fine and she is happy with her new owners according to the pictures they sent Carrie!

I'm calling this lead single to be out the Tuesday after MLK holiday. The week after at the latest.

So excited! I agree, it's strange how they're planning the videos for the first 2 singles, yet we don't even know the title or release date of the first single yet!

Now would be the perfect time for Carrie's label to send out a new teaser cover art that says "New single coming soon" with a smoking hot new picture of Carrie on it!

YES! I was afraid that I was the only one that noticed that, but after she put the winky face once she wrote "Yep, she's a good girl...;)" I figured it had to be it. I didn't want to say anything in case it was just me overthinking it.

By the way, what's your guys' favorite JTTW performance? The '09 Walmart Soundcheck version came on my shuffle a few minutes ago, and I can't help but think that it's the best version she's ever done. <3

Yeah, that last bit about Stella being a 'good girl' just seems like such an obvious hint to me. "Good Girl" is also the only registered co-write that I can say w/ confidence was written quite recently - which would match up w/ Carrie's previous comments about a recent co-write that 'blew everyone away' being a lead single contender.

Also, four photo-shoots for one album campaign? She is coming hard.

Oh my gosh, it's gotta be "Good Girl". The way she said it at the end and then said "Yup she's a good girl ;)" and then said she better go be a good girl and go work out. I would not be surprised at all if that in fact is going to be the lead single. I can't help but be a little uninterested by the title of it though. But I'm sure the song will be better than the title makes it sound if it is indeed the lead single.

I'm just ready for something to happen. Any day now please, Carrie.
