This is all very exciting. I'm really looking forward to every little bit of information that comes out. If "Good Girl" is actually the first single and it did seem like a bit of a hint, does anyone know anything about the co-writers?

Honestly, I hate the title "Good Girl." It sounds very cheesy

I'm not a big fan of the title either, but if they were almost unanimous in terms of what the best single would be, I trust they're making the right decision.

This is all very exciting. I'm really looking forward to every little bit of information that comes out. If "Good Girl" is actually the first single and it did seem like a bit of a hint, does anyone know anything about the co-writers? Ashley Gorley wrote "Don't Forget To Remember Me" and "All-American Girl", and I think that's all of Carrie's that he's written. But he also wrote on "Then" by Brad and "You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace. I like him. But this De Stefano guy...eh. I looked him up on ASCAP and he's, from what I can tell, purely a pop writer. The only song I recognized immediately was "Let Me Down" by Kelly Clarkson, which I like pretty well, though I don't know if it's an excellently written song. He's worked with David Cook and has a few co-writes with him. He's also apparently worked with David Hodges, who I'm pretty fond of. I would guess since Carrie's worked with Hodges a couple of times that's where De Stefano comes from. I have nothing to back that up, but just a blind guess. As far as the title of "Good Girl", again, eh. I mean, I really like Ashley Gorley so I have some hope here, but Carrie's co-writes and from what I can tell, De Stefano just don't seem like excellent, take the world by storm, writers. Idk though, I could be wrong. This could be Carrie's best song to date, who knows. I'm just a little bit concerned here, but we'll see. It's probably all unjustified.

Chris de Stefano only wrote the arrangement for "Let Me Down," fyi. He also may have gone over lyrics with Kelly eventually, but she wrote the lyrics (and melody, I believe) to "Let Me Down," so if you don't like the lyrics, you probably have nothing to worry about based on this song alone.

Very interesting. I do really like the song, it's one of my favorites from "Stronger." I just think lyrically it kind of lacks at points. (And this is in no way an insult to Kelly because I love her. ) My biggest concern is that it seems like they've gone with the "Play On" formula in mixing pop writers with country writers to broaden the albums appeal. I dunno, I'm rambling mostly. Pay me to mind.

I'm not the biggest fan of Carrie in general, but I did see PO as a bit of step back in terms of her artist development--it's a testament to her own star power it did so well on the singles that were released. But one aspect I love about "Let Me Down" is the sheer intensity of the track, and it could be fun to hear Carrie on something like that. She's covered a few rock songs on tour, I believe, so she seems at least mildly interested in that sound.

Damn! Morning: new blog, featuring album news, single news, music video news, and photoshoot news. Afternoon: she's confirmed to perform at a fashion show event. Maybe we'll get lucky and get some more news in a couple more hours!

Maybe we'll get lucky and get some more news in a couple more hours! This news just erased my awful day at work ! If 'Good Girl' is the title, I am still super-excited even though the title is not the best. This part of the pre-lead single/pre-album information release with little aliquots of information are my absolute favourite part of any new era. I love coming home from work and jumping onto Pulse for new information. It seems so bloody long since we have heard new Carrie music that this actual new information feels so satisfying !

If "Good Girl" is actually the first single and it did seem like a bit of a hint, does anyone know anything about the co-writers? Gorley is a pretty common country writer, having written with Brad numerous times, and he's also written songs for Joe Nichols, Trace Adkins, Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, Billy Currington, Chris Young, Blake Shelton, Randy Travis, and of course Carrie. I don't know as much about Chris DeStefano, but he did write One Tree Hill actress Jana Kramer's debut single "Why Ya Wanna" (with Gorley and also Catt Gravitt), which goes for adds at country radio on January 17. Other country co-writing credits: DeStefano co-wrote "Better Than That" (which sounds like a strong single choice) from Scotty McCreery's Clear As Day album and the track "Every Other Memory" from the Eli Young Band's recent Life At Best album. For some reason I think he may have another co-write coming out as someone's single soon (besides Jana's single), but I can't figure out if I just imagined that.

I feel like "Good Girl" is going to have a lot of bite to it. This is probably a little too extreme but I've actually been imagining it as one big FU to anyone who has ever written Carrie off as being just another pretty face. One big ferocious up-tempo w/ a devilishly sarcastic vocal performance. :'( Also, JSYK: DeStefano's had quite a few Idol cuts... "Let Me Down" & "Don't Be A Girl About It" - Kelly Clarkson, Stronger "Better Than That" - Scotty McCreery, Clear As Day "Something About Love" - David Archuletta, The Other Side of Down "This Is Not The Last Time" - David Cook, This Loud Morning I'm not exactly the biggest fan of any of the songs listed above but I do think they fit their respective artists pretty well. I don't think he's the kind of writer that would intentionally push Carrie to go for a poppier sound. He's basically another David Hodges, tbh.

And I definitely like your imagination!

I know this will probably never happen, but I would love for Mutt Lange to co-write and produce a song with Carrie on one of her future albums. Give her that country-rock-pop sound that he gave to Shania.

Carrie posted in a thread over at the FC earlier this morning, basically confirming "Good Girl" as the lead single. I'm not one to brag but...

Yeah, "Good Girl" is definitely the name of the first single. Well, it could be the name of the album because of the way the guy who asked worded it, but what an atrocious name for an album. I'm fairly certain GG will be the lead single.

I really, really hope it's not the name of the album. I'm good with it being the first single, though.

What did she say, roughly? Hmmmmm.... to be exact lol Yea someone pointed out her use of "good girl" in her latest blog and she quoted it saying "Hmmmm... " With the smiley face. Basically confirming "Good Girl" as the lead single and/or the album title (as the post pointed out both possibilities.)

Carrie already had a 'short & sweet' album title in mind back in late October. I'm fairly certain "Good Girl" hadn't even been written until sometime around mid-November. Of course, she could have always changed her mind. She did use the phrase 'good girl' approximately 4 times in her latest blog. IDK, IDK.
I have no issues w/ the title but it doesn't strike me as album title worthy, at all.

I think that's something that should be judged AFTER the album is released. It's like the whole saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover"... If "Good Girl" is in fact the title, it could really fit the album well. You never know... Then again, we don't even know for a FACT that it's the title of the single, never mind the name of the album. I think we should wait and see instead of stomping all over an assumed album title...
Just my humble opinion.

It looks like Carrie has pretty much confirmed it! Unless she's tricking us...she also co-wrote two songs for this era called "Party Girl" and "That Girl". But I definitely think her post, along with her blog confirms it. I'm not going to judge the song by its title, but I do hope that the album isn't called "Good Girl". She really needs a good title this time around, because I found "Play On" to be kind of cheesy, tbh.

"Good Girl"...
Eh, that doesn't sound right.

I hope the album title isn't directly named after a song title. Those titles are always more artsy and interesting than if the album is named after a song on the album or even worse, self-titled. I love it when a line from a song is used to make an album title, like "Carnival Ride". I hope for something along the lines of that.
I really liked Play On and how they used the play symbol in the font and pictures. And I think the title was a pretty good fit for the album as a whole, as were Carnival Ride and Some Hearts. So I believe Carrie and her team will choose the perfect title.

I agree that "Good Girl" isn't a great album title in general... I just think we should wait until there is confirmation of it as a single and/or album title.
If it is, the material on the album may make all of the difference...
