Album title: Good Girl Carrie Underwood: Good Girl
Makes sense to me. Of course, she'll get the heck beat out of her from the blogosphere for actually naming the album that way. But, you can't argue that the title-- fits her like a glove.
Having said that, the probability of "Good Girl" being the title of her new album is 0%. Why? You can't literally say you're a good girl when you actually are. People already know she's a good girl. Squeaky clean image, songs about faith, married-- and to a man, loves animals, is a vegetarian, doesn't even cuss, is not a tabloid favorite for bad behavior, played a guidance counselor on her first movie role, and on and on.
Come on Carrie, one cuss word every now and then. lol

Definitely not here for Good Girl as the album title. As a single title, it's reminding me of So Small but I'm sure the song will be totally different.

Good Girl seems to be the single title. I can't imagine that Carrie (or the label, for that matter) would let something as basic as Good Girl be the title of an album. The album title is meant to summarize every song on the album, and she's done just that with the past 3 albums. Even if "Good Girl" does do just that, I don't think Carrie would have the sense to name the title that. It's not attention-grabbing, it wouldn't make people stop and think, and she's much more creative than that.
We'll all have to wait and see. All we know is that GG will be the title of something, judging by the hints she's given us at the FC. Time will [soon] tell, apparently, which is very exciting! :)

Good Girl wouldn't bother me as an album title in an ironic sort of way if the album was darker. But I know Carrie ain't releasing a darker album so such a title might seem a little too goody, goody.

Didn't she say a little while ago that this album would be really "edgy"? I doubt she'd name it "Good Girl" if that were the case, unless, as some of you suggested, it were in an ironic way.
I agree with the poster who said they prefer when album titles are not named directly after a song. Carnival Ride is my favourite album title (and album), and I love that the name of it came from a lyric in a song rather than a song title.

I think people are jumping to conclusions. "Good Girl" might not be a single or the album title. You know Carrie. She's a jokester who likes to keep us guessing. But, if she was dropping a hint, I go down on the side of it being a single. It could mean anything from being literal to being tongue in cheek.

I saw someone mention that it could be "Party Girl" instead of "Good Girl". Neither of these makes me feel oh so comfortable, but just throwing that out there. I still think the lead single is "Good Girl" though.

I still think the lead single is "Good Girl" though. It could also be "That Girl". Imagine if she just names the album "Girl" and puts all 3 of those songs on it? LOL.

I'm hoping she did that intentionally to throw everyone off. "Good Girl" might be the lead off single but I'm thinking it could also just be confirmation it's a cut on the new CD.

I just had the thought that maybe "Good Girl" is written like "Crazy Girl" by Eli Young Band and the title has a double meaning.
For those that don't know "Crazy Girl"... chorus starts with: "Crazy girl don't you know that I love you" and ends with: "have I told you lately I love you like crazy, girl"
That definitely gives me more hope in the title "Good Girl".
What do you guys think?

I'm honestly not concerned...at all. *After three albums I think it's pretty clear that neither Carrie nor Arista Nashville play around when it comes to the lead single - I trust their decision. Also for "Good Girl" to have come along so late in the album-making process only to end up serving as the lead single tells me that it's something really special. *OK. It took "So Small" a while to grow on me but I adore it now. And, I do think it was the best choice commercially b/c it transitioned listeners from the Some Hearts era to the Carnival Ride era smoothly. Album Title : GIRL 1st single : Good GIRL 2nd single : That GIRL 3rd single : Party GIRL 4th single: Girls Like Us 5th single: "Little Gorl Don't Grow Up Too Fast" She can finally get her wish of going out on an all-female tour, too. Female empowerment theme. :'(

Not sure if this Title made the cut but it was registered at ASCAP this morning. "Cupid's Got a Shotgun" Writers, Underwood, Kear, Tompkins.

And the writers of Before He Cheats (+Carrie) are behind it. I hope it made the cut. Also interesting to note that Carrie is now listed as the performer of Wine After Whiskey over at ASCAP.

Here are a couple of lines from "Wine After Whiskey"... Once upon a time our world was on fire and I loved to watch it burn.
Wild & reckless, never any limits, guess I had a lot to learn.
Cause fire to to embers, embers to ashes that blow away too soon.
Now everything after you is like having wine after whiskey.
It went from do anything for you babe to you don't even miss me.
Once you tasted a love that strong you can't go back and you can't settle on anything else.
And that's what gets me it's like having wine after whiskey. I kinda doubt it made the cut being that it was written for Play On. But, the lyrics are among Carrie's best. So I certainly wouldn't be against it.

I have no idea how it translates sung,(if anyone could help me out there....) but the lyrics are nice. I'd like to have that show up on this next album.

It's been one of my favorite titles. I'm completely wrong, I'm sorry. I was thinking of "Kill The Headlights". "Wine After Whiskey" is hands down one of the most intriguing titles and the lyrics above are excellent. Carrie's always stated that they wrote some excellent songs for "Play On" that just didn't fit on the album for one reason or another. I wouldn't look at these songs as second-rate songs that didn't make the "Play On" album but instead as songs that did not belong on the album. Just think "Oklahoma Wind". Who knows how many other songs on that level Carrie has co-written that did not make "Play On". And on top of that, if after all this time they still love the song enough to put it on this album, then it must be good.

I don't really get how Oklahoma Wind 'didn't fit' on Play On. It certainly fit on the album more than Change or Temporary Home did. Those two songs stuck out like sore thumbs on the album. I love Temporary Home, don't get me wrong, but it didn't fit within the context of the rest of the album, and Change definitely didn't either.

The "It went from do anything for you babe to you don't even miss me" line in particular really gave me those pre-RM debut vibes, when we had the leaked verbal chorus before the song itself. Amazing lyrics, nonetheless.

I really enjoy this part of the album release time. These little bits of information are so much fun. I don't know how so many can make a judgement on which songs they want on the album by the title alone, but it's fun reading the different opinions. There have been some titles that made want to hear the song for sure.
