Push the Button posted its sales as 400K+ in the Pop Diva thread. And, it is still charting, so who knows. We must see Goldulera get that credit.

Nothing random about it If you'd like though I can do a slight revision. I edited above to be the 10 biggest since the last time there was something bigger That would be great...I don't know if 10 female albums debuted at 1M but it would be nice to see the top 10...meaning some that debut close to 1M as well. I think that this will be it for awhile.Congrats to Gaga for accomplishing it, though. I don't see Gaga or Taylor getting it again I would have said Beyonce in February but now...IDK. Adele has a shot.

"Annoying and pointless discussions many times over the weeks and months to come, as well as a new obsession in albums selling a certain % of albums in a week."
Well, there are a lot of a/p discussions around. And presumably this would only come up with albums selling a million in a week, which should continue to be very infrequent. Other percents: No Strings Attached 15.3, Celebrity 12.8, Marshall 11.6, Tha Carter 3 10.8, Oops/Massacre 9.4, Millennium 8.8, Black & Blue 6.8.

When it got to those levels it was obvious it would hit 4,000,000. So why would they certify it at 3 if it was going to get to 4? It will be a long time before it hits 5,000,000 so they will certify it at 4,000,000 imo.

32 Nicki Minaj 12,500 1,394,000 33 Britney Spears 12,400 531,100
ive been wanting to ask this for a few weeks now. i understand nicki is opening for britney because britney has the bigger touring fanbase, but how common is it for the opening acts current album to almost surley end up selling better than the main acts album

In the past Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood have both opened for Brad Paisley despite outselling him by a healthy margin on the album charts. Don't know how common it is outside country music though.

Gaga was the opening act for New Kids on the Block. I think it was right around the time that she was getting big, though?

Katy Perry might actually reach 2 million without a re-release if she stays this consistent.

^But, that's 29 more weeks at 17,000 for the album to hit 2 million.
Katy's newest single isn't burning up the airplay charts.
I hope she can do it.

Katy's newest single isn't burning up the airplay charts. It hasn't been officially sent to pop radio yet, not to mention there's no video yet and her current single still has 140+million AI, I will be quite surprised if this new single doesn't reach 100 million AI as well With holiday sales in the 4th quarter I'd say 2 million is possible by early next year.
