Wow, at Adele still selling 100k a week.
Gaga needs something to stabalize that album of hers.

Pitbull's total isn't really impressive- well, if you're going by his past performance, then OK. But, he still has not scored a top 5 album. And, his numbers are less than some other singles-oriented acts. HITS underestimated the total, but anything from 40K-60K really isn't all that great given his singles success.
If Femme Fatale sees similar numbers on SoundScan, then it will be a gain, not a decline.

I disagree! Pitbull already proved that he is a successful radio and single artist, he sells millions of singles, and yet he manages to sell over 50,000 records..pitbull=superstar his highest debut ever! Besides, dont forget that Bruno debuted with 55,000 but look at his cd now! :) like I said previously Pitbull is consistent, and his album has legs cause it's full of hits. it's one of the best and catchiest album of the year. The critics loved it, his fan base love it and it's just matter of time that the general public realize it. Pitbulll for album of the year!

LOL I have a sneaking suspicion that Pitbull's album won't sell anywhere near Bruno Mars' album. :) And, I don't see him on many best-of features at the end of the year, so the critics must not love him enough. ;) To me, he's in the same league as Flo'Rida and all of those commercial, disposable acts, but, hey, there's an audience for all kinds of stuff out there.

65% decrease for BME. Not good but Not bad. Sort of average.
EMINEM SHADY/AFTERMATH/INT 13,831 +13%
Not shocked cause it was on sale at iTunes for a little while this past week. Still good though.

I'm still quite sure BME will stabilize once (or if) a hit single emerges from the record. Eminem's name is not explicitly on the album cover nor on the digital packages.

I mean i don't expect the BME album to fall off the face of the earth. But it depends what Stabalize is. Maybe 10-20 K| a week for a while. I just don't think "Lighters" is a sure fire hit on radio. I love the song. Just don't see that being a hit. Hope im wrong. Then again im a pessimist who always has low expectations.

Poor Birtney. I don't understand why this isn't doing better.

^ i think "lighters" is going to do fine. already at about 7 mil without an ads date/video/promo. BME will sell 500k for sure.

Florence seems to have her eyes set on the platinum mark - nice to see it resurface again in the top 50. A follow-up to Dog Days would be nice.

Billboard doesn't list it as charting on any radio format yet, and DDAO is still all I ever hear being played. Hmm.

Well, it's the current radio single on Alternative and Triple A and charting in those formats. And MTVU is playing the "Not Fade Away" video in rotation.
The followup album is released in the 4th quarter right?

Congratulations to Jill Scott on her first #1 album. 136k is a very good opening.
And I can't wait to see Beyoncé there in next week's chart! It's been so long since IASF!

50k isn't that bad for GaGa considering the album is already well over 1 million. Very nice numbers no matter what way you look at it.

I really doubt anyone was expecting Pitbull to open big, considering he only has one RIAA-certified record under his belt to date, and it wasn't even his previous album which spawned a pair of top ten hits.
The debut is by no means great, but it's not terrible either. Any degree of success it'll have and how it will be determined commercially will reside in its subsequent single releases. If the album fails to even go Gold, then I'd say we can safely consider it a commercial disappointment. Gold or above, on the other hand, can be viewed as anywhere from satisfying to a sure success.

How come there weren't any Hits or BB predictions for Beyonce's '4' or Selena Gomez or Big Sean?Normally, there are predictions right?

^They will come tomorrow. Sometimes if a title is going to open HUGE, HITS will comment on it on Tuesday. So, it doesn't look like any of the new releases this week will come near 500K or anything.

-- 2 BON IVER JAGJAGUAR 104,687 -- BON IVER 3 3 ADELE XL/COLUMBIA 102,215 -10% 21
Please let it stay this way on official BB chart. Amazing for Bon Iver as I predicted something like The Decemberists did earlier this year.

Gaga needs something to stabalize that album of hers. I think it will stabilize at 30-35k region for a couple of months soon if TEOG maintains its hit status and a new single + video coming later.

Thanks but they did this for K Perry. I just expected hits/bb to have predictions out this week as there are a # of high profile releases. Ok, will wait to see what the predictions are today.

^HITS posted a Katy Perry projection on a Tuesday afternoon? I don't recall that, but we know her opening total wasn't really big enough to warrant that kind of early-projection treatment. :)

^Actually it was the very fact that it wasn't that big that probably warranted the early projection, since most industry insiders had been over-predicting her for weeks before the album release.
