Released in 1985 as the second single from his self-titled debut. Hit #17 R&B. Another fabulous song by Mr. O'Neal.

Really good song. As I said on the "Fake" thread, I like all of Alexander's music.

This is his best song. I absolutely love it. Even though this barely made the Top 20 on the R&B chart when it was originally released, this definitely seems to be his best known song now.
Although it was actually produced by MontΓ© Moir, this song has that production style that Jam & Lewis used for ballads with other artists like The Human League, Janet, and New Edition.
I recently mentioned in another thread that this song is notable for being a hit despite none of the lines rhyming.

He had so many great tracks, those first two albums are pretty much flawless. This is my favorite vocal of his by far.

How did I not comment on my favorite slow jam by one of my all time favorite male singers ever? I ADORE THIS. Exactly the kind of music I'm a sucker for.

I first heard this song when the acapella vocals were sampled on a 1999 house record called "My Feelings" by Junior Jack. I didn't know the original source until much later. This is a good song though my favorite from him is his 1987 hit "Fake".

He did a re-recording of this some time ago, and in my opinion, it is his best re-recording yet. Even though he doesn't sound vocally at his best like in his prime, I still love that the production virtually sounds the same as the original. I wish his debut album was on Spotify. It's the only album from his that is strangely missing. I wonder why...
I could not get into to the re-recordings he did for Hearsay's 30th. Without the Jimmy Jam and Jerry Lewis production, it fails to capture that same magic from the original.
