Adam has filmed a talk@playground session with Jonny Cota from SkinGraft. Previous artists asked to participate include Lady Gaga, Kelis and Keri Hilson.

Rumoured (semi-confirmed by twitter follows imo) Adam is guest judging on the new season of Project Runway to be shown some time in October.

That date is too optimistic, that would mean a single in August? September? There is a lot of production and promo involved with Adam this time around, I would not be surprised if this gets pushed back to Winter/Spring 2012 to also get an Idol performance.

Actually all the talk is exactly that! August/Sept single and Nov album. Adam has consistently said in interviews that the album will be out in the fall and as he has the VH1 in August I wouldn't be surprised if the promo around that is used as part of the launch for the first single. He has been recording for 5 months so the album should be well advanced.

As regards Idol - well FYE came out in November and he got the big idol performance for WWFM anyway so it doesn't preclude that.
And this timescale might also give the possibility of an XFactor performance (which is running Sept - Dec this year).

Yea I just posted in the Kelly thread, that it seems the Sony umbrella is pitting all the biggest Idols (Kelly, Adam, Carrie, Daughtry, Jordin) against each other by giving them all fall releases. I imagine Sony is a HUGE mess right now, with labels merging together, a new president stepping in after their last one unexpectedly quit, and American Idol no longer being tied to Sony.

I'm feeling a bit pessimistic. :'( :'(

Yeah, I think all the delays were due to the changes going on. Things should start to settle now. I'm feeling very optimistic for Kelly, Adam and Daughtry. I can't wait for their albums.

Well he started in February and it's the end of June so thats 5 months. Of course the early sessions probably didn't yield any actual recordings that will make the disk but it's still time in the process.

Personally I choose to think that the timescale is what we've heard from reliable sources (i.e. direct from Adam and people who've proven right on such information before - some of whom post here on pulse) until such times as things change. Of course sometimes stuff happens and things get pushed back but given the sales opportunity of November being what it is, I would think they will want to make the most of that.

Also consider that FYE was recorded in a 2 month effort timeframe in reality (spread over longer because he was on the AI tour) so given he's mostly been working for the last 5 months I think November is entirely realistic. It is 4 months away after all. And I'm sure in the last 5 months they have had time to create one or two decent singles which might be ready for August release.

He has been writing and making demos since Feb and they already started producing full tracks in Bonnie's sessions for example (working with 3 producers, masters, etc. for the 3rd time together.)

If there's a date that'll be pushed back it has more chances to be Daughtry's, that hasn't started tracking yet, than Adam's.

^Daughtry is full blown Studio in July and his will either barely make it to the end of the year or be released early next year. I'm not buying into all the hype, still too optimistic.

I don't follow her, obviously, but if her album was originally supposed to be released last year and single by the end of last year, I wonder why the recordings lasted this year too..

Either way, this is not a Kelly thread, and just because her album got delayed, and Cook's and Avril's, doesn't mean RCA delay every album.

well, Kelly posted this to her Facebook on March 15...

I recently found out that my album won't be coming out until September ....the album has been recorded but I can't release it until then. I realize that is a long time but that's the best time to release it apparently so I'm sorry for the wait but I promise you it sounds great!

so she's definitely been done for a while. the holdup with her just seems to be whatever RCA perceives as the best time to release.

anyway, to get back on topic, I don't think there's any way to know for sure where Adam is in the recording process right now. I remember Adam's dad tweeted on Father's Day that he had gotten to listen to "demos" so that made me think he's still in the early stages (but again, that is pure speculation by me). I hope Greg Wells drops some hints on twitter as to whether he's writing with Adam, or actually recording vocals! I'd love to hear some new Adam music by the end of the year, so hopefully things are still on track for that.

Go glad to hear he's working with Greg Wells again, I love Broken Open and Down the Rabbit Hole. Strut, not so much. The vocal on Can't Let You Go is insane.

I'm not sure why Kelly's project and timeline have anything to do with Adam's. Looking forward to hers too though.
