New Album release date May 15th? I'm glad there's a new release date. I hope this one sticks this time. So, I'm guessing due to this date, that we will be hearing the new single sometime soon.

I've been so into him today! I can't at the record being pushed back to May 15th though. >:( The fact that it HAS a release date is good, but I kind of hope the whole thing leaks much earlier and so it'll get pushed up.

Statement about Sonisphere from the Queen Online website: Sonisphere Statement Sonisphere Statement “It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Sonisphere Knebworth 2012. Putting the festival together in what is proving to be a very challenging year was more difficult than we anticipated, and we have spent the last few months fighting hard to keep Sonisphere in the calendar. Unfortunately circumstances have dictated that we would be unable to run the festival to a standard that both the artists and that Sonisphere’s audience would rightly expect. We want to express our deepest regrets to the artists and to thank all the staff, suppliers and contractors who worked so hard with us to try and pull off what has proven to be an impossible task and we know how much they share in our disappointment. We also want to send a huge thanks to the Sonisphere fans who stuck by us and we are so sorry that we can’t fulfil what we set out to do. Ticket holders will automatically receive a full refund direct from their ticket agents" Team Sonisphere *** Statement from Queen "We are disappointed to hear of the cancellation of the Sonisphere Festivals as we were very much looking forward to performing with Adam Lambert and particularly as the venue was Knebworth, our last stand with Freddie. We apologise for the disappointment to all those who were looking forward to seeing us. We are working to see if we can redress the situation at some other venue." It is being widely reported that the 'unfortunate circumstances' were extremely low ticket sales.

I don't see anything hitting off this album. It seems like it's going to be DOA.

Well, to be honest, the general interest isn't there this time around and no, a handful of stans on Pulse is hardly indicative of the general public. If the album is hot, I will purchase it. I couldn't care less about the buying trends of the masses, at least not when it comes to supporting artists I like but yeah, I don't even predict gold for this, unfortunately.

I think things can turn around if RCA goes ahead and sends one of the songs from those previews (Save "Trespassing," it's my favorite of the four but it's not single worthy.) because I honestly think they can be hits. I would go with "Cuckoo." That said, this era has been such a mess, I really hope they can get it together.
But YES at "Trespassing" making the album (which I assumed it would considering it's the title track and all, but it's nice to be confirmed.) I'm going to be jamming to that so much when it's released!

No. I'm not predicting it will be DOA since I've yet to hear all the songs. If the songs that they/he chose to preview on Soundcloud are the songs up for radio release, none of them will hit top 5. I can only see Never Close Our Eyes going top 15/20 perhaps better. I see this album selling 300k max. when all is said & done.

I don't understand this at all. You have an artist who can have a smash on the radio with the right song, yet the record label seems to not care. I have to wonder why record labels even sign artists if they aren't going to give their all to them. It just makes no sense to me. Though, that brings me to the question, why delay the album? I thought the whole reason behind it was so that Dr. Luke could create some hits so that Adam could recover from BTIKM. There are some tracks on the tracklist that I never knew of before, so those could be those tracks, but I don't know. If Adam had recorded a song that the record label are really confident in, one would think they would have sent it to radio by now. Yet, there is no new single out. One thing is for sure, I hope for his next album he doesn't rely on Dr. Luke anymore. Also, he needs to stop having Ray Kay direct his music videos, since the FYE and BTIKM music videos are just dull. Anyways, I'm still looking forward to Trespassing. The clips have been rather great so far, so I think I'm going to dig this album.

I can only see Never Close Our Eyes going top 15/20 perhaps better. I see this album selling 300k max. when all is said & done. Top 5 for Adam on CHR is higher than my expectations (from RCA and from US radio for Adam). Perhaps my expectations are more realistic. We can't discount his popularity internationally either. He'll sell over 300k outside the US alone. RCA doesn't care where the money comes from. They just have to rebound from a crappy lead single choice. And IA EL.even, RCA is Adam's big hurdle. Makes you wonder what someone like Interscope would have done with him. ETA: (IMO I don't think they delayed to record more tracks, maybe to finish the NCOE track that didn't seem to have been picked until late. But delayed to line up more radio, Spring balls, etc.) Hopefully that'll help. Adam said he just got the mixes back, so we'll see. If they can get him the iheart concert in Sept, maybe I'll stop complaining about RCA. Maybe

I don't like how RCA begins eras, one size does not fit all. Maybe it worked for KC but really look at how much money they spent establishing her era. I also think that people in general are not as interested this time around and he needs a smash hit to return to his previous status. That said, there is no point thinking another label would do better. Interscope has screwed some of my favorite artists and killed their careers as well.

Have faith people. It's all going to come together. RCA knows how much money can be made from Adam. And you know that once he starts touring again, he's going to cause nothing short of a frenzy. The era seems sloppy, but it's all going to come together.
