This is her new single according to tonight's Country Aircheck Music Edition, and it will go for adds on July 25th.

Excellent track, wonderful lyrics, extraordinary vocals, so on. However, why not release "One Night?" Perhaps because "Gonna Love You" creates an emotional connection with the listeners and that pushes albums? This would peak within the fall too, correct? That could another possible reason. Regardless, this next album excites me, as does this next single.
Martina delivers another wonderful, emotional, relatable, touching ballad. Consider me excited!

Between positions #11-#20, where will it peak?

She sang this and "One Night" at CMA Fest and I was not a fan of this one at all on first listen. I will listen to the studio version, but she needs to be prepared for another teens peak with this single. "One Night" was a much better song and a better choice.

I'm thrilled by this news! I disagree with you, austin, this is one of the most powerful, touching songs I've heard in a long time, and it's vintage Martina...a strong vocal, tugging at the emotional heartstrings, relatable to many, etc. She tends to have a lot of success with these types of powerhouse ballads (such as "Anyway") and I think this will be the single to break her streak of singles that come close to the top ten without actually cracking the top ten. I am predicting a BIG hit for Martina on this one, and I can't wait to hear the studio version.
Taste of Country ran a piece yesterday on the story behind the lyrics of the song...if you get a chance, search for the article and check out some of the comments. There are SEVERAL there with people posting their own stories about their own experiences relating to cancer....to me, that's exactly what a good, strong country song is supposed to do...I think this one is going to touch a lot of people and will be the perfect single to give the album a really strong debut come October (which also happens to be breast cancer awareness month).

That made me think of A Little Bit Stronger. Comments for anything related to that song are filled with personal stories like that. If Martina can pull this off the way Sara Evans was able to, then she'll break that Top 10 drought for sure... maybe even get her first #1 hit in a decade. Can't wait to hear this song!

The people over at AllAccess have been kinda losing it lately. For some reason they moved this up to a July 11 release date and are showing RCA as the label. Both of these are clearly incorrect. They've made several other mistakes as well, including posting the wrong Katie Armiger song and now they also have July 12th listed as the release date for Point Of Grace's "Hole In The World" album...there is no such thing. The single "Hole In The World" goes for adds that day on CCM and Country radio.
Anyway, I'm not sure I'm excited to hear this, but anything is going to be better than "Teenage Daughters". I haven't liked anything from Martina in years and years, so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised here but I'm not exactly counting on that..

AllAccess isn't wrong about July 11th. According to CountryAircheck, the add date is July 25th but it will be available via Play MPE on July 11th. I'm assuming that's when we will be able to hear the studio track online, correct? I hope so...I'm excited! :)

Well, it might be available on the 11th but the adds date is still the 25th, and adds dates are what AllAccess always lists. For example, LeAnn Rimes' song has an adds date of July 18 but we've been able to hear that one for a while now since it has already been released via Play MPE.
Plus, it says RCA for Martina...not sure why they changed it to that (and moved the date) since she's obviously on Republic, and even if the song is at radio or on Play MPE come the 11th, the adds date is probably gonna be the 25th like Country Aircheck reported because I can't see Republic sending this one for immediate adds like what happened with "Honey Bee" and "Made In America"...

THIS IS MARTINA. I'm so tired of the overused "teenagers", "lovey-dovey-mother" crud that's been getting spewed out at us recently, especially the deplorable "Teenage Daughters" by Martina herself. This is a flawless track of vocals, a touching tune, and most importantly, a lyrical masterpiece. I'm so happy that we actually have classic Martina back, because the stale crap she was giving ever since "Anyway" was getting very old, very fast. Hopefully this will be a better indication of how her next album will be than "Teenage Daughters," the deserving flop. I'm predicting a top 10 peak for this. It's deserving of a #1, but it's too soon to tell.

Martina performed the song at the CMA Festival, and a few YouTube videos of the performance have popped up...pretty good quality, too! Do a search for the song there and you'll find it. The studio version hasn't popped up yet, but I imagine it will around Monday or so since it's supposed to be available then via Play MPE. :)

^ Thanks!
I'm one of the few who likes Teenage Daughters, but this is fantastic. I cannot wait until I hear the recorded version and am able to buy it for myself. This song has that epic sound to it akin to Anyway or Concrete Angel. I hope this is a huge hit for Martina! <3

This was sent to radio today. Tony Thomas has it as his "test track" for the day and a clip of the studio version is posted here: tonythomas.visibli.com/share/bLgFsFI hope the rest of the track will surface later today! :)

Tobias,
This song has so much potential to help people that it deserved to be reviewed. I listened to it for like 6 straight times before writing that review.

Martina McBride - "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" By: Matt Bjorke Last Updated: July 11, 2011 2:07 PM With “Teenage Daughters,” Martina McBride showed off a different side not often heard on her radio singles. There was wit and charm and everything we love from our superstar singers yet in the end the song stalled in the Top 20 because it was ‘too different’ from the Martina McBride we’ve come to expect. If you were hoping to have Martina return to the powerful emotional songs like “A Broken Wing,” “Concrete Angel,” “Love’s The Only House” and “Anyway,” well the song simply didn’t meet the expectations but all of that will change with new single “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.” Anyone who has survived cancer or any other life-threatening ailments or been on the side of somebody who has will certainly relate to the lyrics of “I’m Gonna Love You Through It,” a story song that serves as Martina McBride’s second Republic Nashville single. It has all the hallmarks of her best and most powerful tunes are here, including Martina’s soaring voice and great lyrics and, perhaps that biggest element, the emotional impact. The melody is contemporary but there is still nice steel guitar solo mixed within the soaring strings all tying the song to an epic conclusion of the power love can have when we are at the worst moments in our lives. If this song doesn’t restore people’s faith in Martina McBride or become the big radio hit it deserves to be (it’s so universal), then people just don’t want to hear great country songs about real life anymore (and would rather listen to parties about country boys, trucks, rebel flags, moonshine, etc). It’d be a shame if that were to happen. America needs this country song and after all, This is Country musicand it does (talk about cancer and disease in songs). FIVE STARS www.roughstock.com/blog/martina-mcbride-i-m-gonna-love-you-through-it-review

I like this a lot. Definitely refreshing to hear her on something great again.
The vocal delivery, however, is very reminiscent of "Anyway." Not that it's a bad thing, I guess. I also like "One Night" and hope it's a single after this (though that vocal delivery reminds me of "Ride").

Tobias, This song has so much potential to help people that it deserved to be reviewed. I listened to it for like 6 straight times before writing that review. I agree with you 100% and I'm so glad you feel the same way. This is exactly what good country music is supposed to do, and I'm thankful you pointed that out in your review...it is too bad how many songs these days tend to deal with really minor things, so it's refreshing to hear one of the genre's top vocalists coming back out with something as emotional and powerful as this. I'm bummed, though, that this isn't streaming online for the general public yet. I'm dying to hear the studio version! :)

This song sounds very similar to "Anyway" the vocals and the music. But nevertheless, it's a gorgeous song. If Martina has any shot at another #1 in her career, it's with this song right here.

Weak song. I dissent from the majority opinion.
It would take a different kind of story, with a lot more specifics, to get me to relate to it. I've buried too many people by this time and I don't respond to a bunch of obvious and vague comments. She just wants to feel like a woman again, and we're going to be all cutesy about this -- we can't even name the cancer she has? The word "breast" can't appear in a song about cancer? Fine, then leave it out, but let's not pretend this song is about reality when all we have is a husband making vague promises and everybody is trying to hide what the cancer took from her. Yuck. Not the experience I know about. Where I come from, people aren't so coy.
I think back to RF's song about Sarabeth, and at least we know one specific thing the guy did -- he shaved his head in solidarity with the cancer patient -- that was at least something real. Something specific the songwriter thought of to illustrate what one human being can do for another. That didn't solve all her problems but the songwriting was pretty strong there, specific and strong.
And although Matt's review is a typically well-thought-out review, and I enjoyed reading it, I have to say I don't want back the Martina he is writing about. I want the Martina of Wrong Again and Happy Girl and Cry On The Shoulder Of The Road and Wild Angels back again. I'll give him A Broken Wing but the other songs he is remembering I think are pretty bad.
I am not interested in changing people's minds; I just want to register a minority opinion. Not everybody thinks this is good. I'm glad she's against cancer -- brave and courageous Martina, coming out against cancer. Not that anybody's for cancer, but... oh well, I will stop now. This song is getting credit for what it completely fails to do. Let it go #1 and get Martina a bunch of money, but I don't see that this is anything more than vague.
