This was from 1983's Ross, which was a lull in her career at the time. The album spawned no significant hits. "Let's Go Up" was the third and final single and peaked at #52 R&B. While this is certainly nowhere near as memorable as some of her biggest solo hits, I think it's one of her most underrated single releases and I prefer it to a handful of her 80s hits. It was written by Franne Golde who would go on to have a multi-decade career writing hits including The Commodores' "Nightshift," Jody Watley's "Don't You Want Me," Selena's "Dreaming Of You," and The Pussycat Dolls' "Stickwitu".
Here is the album version, a performance on Johnny Carson, and a performance from her legendary concert in Central Park.

Do you remember the 1983-1984 Diana Ross song "Let's Go Up"?

I really like it, and yes it's one of her more underrated singles.
I prefer the verses to the chorus. Love that signature 80's production...

This is definitely much better than "Pieces of Ice". Agree with Dreams, that this is an underrated gem.

Loved her album ROSS. A few of my faves are Up Front, Pieces of Ice and Girls.
Would love to have Diana Ross at RADIO! Cher is getting RADIO play at age 77 with her DJ Play a Christmas Song. Cher has the record by far, at CHR Radio as the oldest artists at CHR/POP radio as well as HAC and AC radio. Now that Cher has broken through the glass ceiling, since USA Radio is both Ageist and Sexist, maybe Diana can break though too! I'd love to have Diana Ross back on POP Radio! And I mean, like Cher, as a SOLO. Older artists can always chart with a young hot artist but doing on their own is nearly impossible. I am rooting for Diana to do it! Radio should just play good songs and not focus on an artist's age.
