Gap between LWYMMD and Despacito:
0.7879
That's how far ahead Taylor is. Despacito is gonna get dethroned after the 16th week.

It may get 16 weeks and it does have a shot at getting the record, but I don't think it's gonna beat One Sweet Day, because Mariah and Boyz II Men are not going anywhere anytime soon. It's losing hard in airplay, it's streaming is also in decline, the only thing that's keeping it propped up as well is sales.

Why would Demi releasing a new single cause Sorry Not Sorry to have such an epic collapse within a few hours? Album pre-order is up and they deleted the single version.

Now THAT is the type of lead that gives me an impression that something can debut at #1. Granted, sales are a lot lower now, so I'm still not quite sure this will equate to over 400k if it starts slipping. Then again, she did let Spotify have the track, so it might be enough.

1. Look At What You Made Me Do (1.0000) 2. Light It Up (1.1595)
Holy f**k, that is a big gap. I might've been wrong on my #1 debut theory then.

Fixed. You had Light It Up with a 1.1595, which was wrong. Now it's around 0.1010. It's updating. Considering how far ahead Taylor is, I think we can just chalk up another #1 for her after Despacito's 16th week. Hopefully.

Is it on Spotify/YouTube, cause if it's not that'll make the numbers go down. Besides, Despacito is already falling in radio, and when a radio darling like Taylor comes around, your chances of staying at #1 any longer get significantly cut. And with the sales gap, and the fact it's got streaming spells doom for Despacito. At best it could get it's 16th week (That is unless it's streaming numbers are worse and Bodak Yellow is #1) but 17 looks unlikely right now.

1 Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do 1.0000 2 Demi Lovato - Tell Me You Love Me 0.0685
this might be the biggest gap between #1 and #2 in iTunes history, I'm not sure. Although Taylor has like zero competition at the moment.

Combining versions of "Despacito," Swift is selling 10 to 1. But, yeah, that's huge. The key is of course sustaining a big lead, though. If by the end of the chart weeks she's barely ahead, I don't know if those sales will be big enough for #1 on the Hot 100.

Is Niall Horan expecting any money to come out of Slow Hands' downloads at any point? That song's been discounted for months.
