This is an odd question but I'm not sure where else to ask. Is anyone able to find Goodbye by Who Is Fancy on iTunes? I just searched it to buy it but the only song from Who Is Fancy that is coming up is Boys Like You. Goodbye only comes up in the album Pride Jams, which would be fine but it is only available if you buy the whole album too and I'm not paying €8.99 for a whole album just for one song I care about

When I click that, it only gives me the option to listen to it on Apple Music (which I don't have). Oh well :/ Thank you for helping me, anyway :)

So I guess the key to going top 10 on iTunes in 2017 is to discount (8/10 are discounted)

Could 1-800-273-8255 become a hit after all that waiting outside top 40?

So I guess the key to going top 10 on iTunes in 2017 is to discount (8/10 are discounted) They should lower the price of all songs to 99 cents then then they could do away with discounts?

It wouldn't do the same thing. People need to feel like they're getting a great deal in order for a sale to work. If it's always that way, then people lose interest.

It feels like "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back", "Attention" and "Slow Hands" are discounted since 2003.

I've been seeing that song on Spotify but I dismissed it because of the title (I'm not from the US so I didn't know it was the suicide hotline) and it was really the VMA performance that introduced me to the song, really lovely. I hope it becomes a smash hit

Young Dumb and Broke is also at #19...was it performed at the VMAs or has it always sold this well and I'm just blind?

Woah, thought 1-800 would be free falling within a day or two of the performance but it's actually holding very well on iTunes, and with streaming being solid this appears to be headed top 10 on the H100. Didn't see that coming O.o

The performance was beautifully crafted to really connect the message with the audience. It really felt like a moment.

Who got started with the discounts? I started noticing this last year with songs like IHUILU and Gold but that must have been done before that

I remember Should've Been Us been discounted for quite a while in 2015. I think it was around then that a member on here (I think rimetm) started compiling a list of discounted songs

There were extended length discounts at least as far back as 2014; I recall that being the core tenet of Really Don't Care's single promo, happening both at the same time as the radio push and music video launch and lasting a good 2-3 months.
2016 was the year it really began to go into overload, with a rotation of songs being on discount for half of the year, including:
-Hymn for the Weekend -Gold -I hate u, I love u -Hide Away -Sit Still, Look Pretty -Never Be Like You -Broccoli -Unsteady
In a lot of these cases, the discount being applied got each song the momentum it needed for radio to take to it and the discounts sustained all the way to their peaks.
2016 was also the start of the jockey for #1/top 10 strategy, with songs like these strategically going on discount at just the right time to land that killer week:
-Cheap Thrills -Starboy -Side to Side (Ariana put all of her post-album singles on discount once they got their radio push, did anyone else notice that?) -Let Me Love You (aimed for a peak after staggering in the top 20, then kinda played the long game)
We've seen both strategies at play this year, except now we've gone from nobodies who became somebody (Daya, Kiiara) to also A/B-tier major acts doing the extended strategy (Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, Liam Payne, Niall Horan) and the jockeyers being dominant acts looking to secure longevity in the top 10 zone (Luis Fonsi/Daddy Yankee, Taylor Swift/Zayn, Kendrick Lamar) with the occasional exception like Million Reasons, whose peak jockey depended on its performance and discount coinciding.
